Excellent video and perfectly timed. I've been shooting timelapses for a number of years and bought a Hero 8 last week. This sounds absolutely perfect for me to investigate. Thanks for informing us. Great channel by the way.
Hey Mathew, how about a new tutorial how to create and set up times to do a sunset (one hour before/2 hours after). I used the auto sunset mode with QR but I’m thinking it won’t be photos but a video out of the GoPro as a Timelapse (I would love to learn the create your QR so it will take my Timelapse images with a start stop time) thanks!
Thanks for the video showing the features of GoPro Labs. Wish this was backward compatible with the GoPro Hero 7 Black! P.S.: Would definitely love to see a more detailed review of the GoPro 8 Black.
About to pick up a GoPro 8 and didn't know these features existed! Do you know of a way to sync the GoPro with a flash for timelapse? I have been trying to find a way to do this.
Does GoPro produce good time lapses? How about Milky Way time lapse. I would really like to get a second camera for the Milky Way, but I am not making money on my photography so I need to keep the cost down. Awesome video. It would be great if they would incorporate some of those features in the DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
Great review bro ... u mention a dedicated kit or cam at 4:46 .... which one is ???? That can do macro timelape.... would be great if we get anything that is dedicated for timelapses
Hi brother! JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR! Thank you!! I ask you: can you do the same with the GO PRO HERO 9? and another question: Can I see and control my camera from any PC software?
Well it is officially from GoPro themselves but it's not a firmware they'll push out through the app or anything. It is very stable, I haven't had a single issue since installing it.
I'm in the market for a new GOPRO. Alas, I am hesitant since I am confused on what max resolution (photo mode) the Hero 8 can produce. I'm looking at Amazon and it says "12 MP". Yet it also says "shoot time lapse in 4K, 2.7K 4:3, 1440p or 1080p." So like, 4K is a much higher resolution that 12MP, right ? Ugh I guess I am just a confused newbie.
PS: I'm working with my old Hero 2 camera still do this day, shooting images to 11MP and plan to compose them into a time-lapse. I am also working with old ADOBE software (PS 10 and PR 10) on a 2012 Dell computer....fortunately I just bought a brand new Dell desktop that will handle semi-tough batch processing that I need to do with these time lapse experiments.
Got a GOPRO Hero 7 black, 3 months before 8 was launched. Thanks for no love from GOPRO. They only support their latest camera. Even have the same processor as GOPRO 8.
Hope you enjoyed the video! Download my free e-book The Basics Of Timelapse here: www.matjoez.com/freebook
I continue to be so impressed with the Go Pro 8, stoked to hear about this long form feature
Awesome review of labs ! Can’t wait to try more creative shots with this !
This is awesome! Gave me a few ideas on how to potentially use this for science projects!

Great explanation thank you
You are welcome!
Wow! Really cool 😎 information! You beat everyone to this!

YES please to a proper full review!
How do you power your gopro for construction time lapse?

hopefully they will make it work on the gopro max
that is cool. thanks
Why not do the settings using an app and Wifi? The QR code method looks clunky. Is it because it is all experimental software?
These are some really cool features, am quite tempted to grab myself an 8 now that it’s £279....argh decisions decisions
London Viewpoints Im tempted also, but not sure if i should wait for the 9. £279 is very reasonable. May get both
Show us what you can do with this go pro

Probably this one> what it says it can do and has good reviews also> Afidus ATL-200S
Is it support GoPro Hero 7?
Hi brother! JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR! Thank you!!
I ask you: can you do the same with the GO PRO HERO 9?
and another question:
Can I see and control my camera from any PC software?
Apparently the 9 now also has gopro labs yes! Not sure about remote access for PC, think it's mobile only for now
So this is NOT an official firmware update from GoPro, correct? Sorta like a beta version of an upcoming release? Is it stable at least?
Well it is officially from GoPro themselves but it's not a firmware they'll push out through the app or anything. It is very stable, I haven't had a single issue since installing it.

So 4K video is 3840 x 2160, which is 8294400 pixels aka 8.29 megapixels. The photo resolution is still 12 megapixels.
opening words : Dag mooie jongen ! :p hehe
heyoooo
Does this work on the 9 now?
I heard it's around but I haven't tested it
who's typing in the background.
That would be Amelia, his other half.
140 frames over 40 days amounts to only a 6 second clip playing at 24fps.
Yes? 40 days is impressive.
Did you try it already? 🧐
