    Seen this game at least 50 times on this and other chess channels. Like you, sir, one of my all-time favorite Morphy games. No disrespect to the other channels your presentation is my favorite, especially at the end (around 8:00 minute of the presentation) when a quick glance could make the viewer think H's king check will help, you say, "...but No!" Awesome! Many thanks from Canada!

    Hcv sir "it's not so easy to play against Morphy. He is a very complicated player". Believe me,hcv sir,truer words were never spoken. Absolutely accurate description of morphy's genius. You are bang on about Morphy.

      Yes! Romnick, this guy has been producing beautiful and fascinating videos for 3 years. But we know nothing at all about the Creator himself:
      - what's his name?
      - where's he from?
      - Is he a professional musician? Historian?

    What a magnificent and mind-blowing set of calculation of different variations in the end. This is way way better than the opera House game.

    Yes a mind-blowing game. the rook sac was truly epic. One has to hand it to Morphy. He is simply out this world. He is so sublime, and that is an understatement. By the way I'm watching it again today.

    I am glad that Paul Murphy won his second game against Danial Harrwitz.

    Fantastic rook sacrifice that tore apart black's defence and an excellent pawn sacrifice to lure away the black rook from 7th rank otherwise this combination won't work

    This game proves beyond any reasonable iota of doubt that Morphy is a genius in the beginning both dug trenches deep didn't say anything and played piece for piece but then came the rook sac and the knight move harwitz or no could have seen that coming it was a five move blitz harwitz was simply blown away spectacular I'm speechless stunned what a game by Morphy this game takes the cake of all the Morphy games thks hcv sir wonderful

    Thanks to HCV channel I saw all the matches with Anderssen Löwenthal and Harrwitz. Harrwitz was unpleasant and unpolite, while the other two were two sportive gentlemen. But, in my humble opinion, technically Harrwitz played better than the other two against the Genius: his chess style was more modern, technical, with positional backgrounds. Of course that's not enough against Morphy, who was far superior to anyone, probably also of Steinitz, even if they never played.

  • @giriiyer3968
    @giriiyer3968 4 роки тому +1

    it's simply stupendous what a mindboggling set of calculations and a complex sequence of moves extraordinary his analysis and evaluation of positions is simply outstanding no chess engine can match him fantastic

    After this match, Harrwitz asked for a delay of 10 days due to illness. :-)

    • @historicalchessvideos8017

      It was not after this match I think. As far as I know harrwitz asked for a delay after game 5, he wanted a 5 days resting time but later after losing another game he wanted to delay the game again but for 10 days this time. Thats what I read.

    After the rook sac the knight and queen really put harwitz thru the rack. What a torture really.

  • @giriiyer3968
    @giriiyer3968 4 роки тому +1

    In fact after rook*h7+ every move was forced for harwitz leading to cm or loss of material Morphy is the chess engine probably came ready with Newton's binomial theorem otherwise it is humanly impossible to calculate the permutations and combinations involved in advance this game proves morphys class as a top level GM what a game I'm watching it again
