Thank you for your support!
Brian May operates on an entirely different level. That’s what made Queen so special. The talent and intelligence of those 4 unique guys may never be repeated again.
Fortunately it does exist in Nightwish.
I hope you're right. Dear oh dearie!
Why does Brian always come across as very down to earth, unassuming and intelligent in in interviews.
If it looks and smells like a fish, it's less likely to be a golf ball.
Because he is
Clutching at straws here, but perhaps Brian is a simply a top bloke.
I guess because he is?
@@MarksMindBox Quite right! And the same should be true of Pluto. If it looks like a planet, and orbits the sun like a planet...
Queen was my first rock concert. I was 13. I was mesmerized by May's playing. He was quiet and posed on stage. Never showing off.
brian's voice is so calming
Such a privilege:
At 64, I've just reactivated several million brain cells watching this.
Thanks Guys.
Brian May is my hero.
I've enjoyed this podcast so much. Thank you both for a wonderful conversation. Please have Brian back.
One of my best friends is a physicist, but he's also a musician, and we talk about Science and Arts for hours at a time. I'm not a scientist, but I'm fascinated by Science. My friend says that he finds our conversations about Science far more enjoyable than his conversations with his own colleagues who are actual professional scientists, because according to him, my interest and wonder about Science and its workings are far more "refreshing" and genuine than those of his collegues, who treat it as just work that they're obliged to trudge through. He says I have a "scientific mind", and has commented on several occassions how he wishes I studied Science instead of Literature in college. You don't need to be a scientist to be in awe of Science, to want to know about it. Of course, it would've really helped if I did study Science (that way, I would've understood a lot of things that I don't right now), but it really makes me happy that people like my friend encourage the spread of scientific knowledge irrespective of whether their listeners are scientists or not. I'm grateful that people like him, and people like Lawrence Krauss and Brian May exist.
Dr. Krauss, once again a fabulous video. Thank you so much. I so much admire Dr. May for his musical genius and his dedication to science. I want many more like him in the world and many more like you making science exciting and accessible.
What a lovely man Brian is!
I always liked the song '39 - but when I realized (later in life) that it was about the "Twin Paradox", my appreciation for it became much deeper.
Genuis of Sir Brian May is amazing! How could anyone have so many different areas and be so great in all of them!
Hey everybody, this is a conversation with Lawrence Krauss. It’s not and is not intended to be a traditional interview like a journalist would do to gather info for a story. I rather like it this way.
ALL HAIL MAY AND HIS TONE!!!!
I cannot believe that their are only 111 comments prior to mine in the years that this video has been out.
I enjoyed this very much and would really love to see a video of Brian and his creations. Being a tinkerer and in construction seeing how other people make things tells you their thought processes and makes it much easier to know them than just a short conversation might.
Boy that was great! Very illuminating. Thank you.
Great conversation, thanks for sharing.
KRAUSS is amazingly bright
In addition he is a great interviewer. Great guests. I’m learning with each podcast
On this one, Krauss talked too much. He interrupted Dr May so often I just wanted to crawl through the screen and tell Laurence to shut up and let Dr May speak.
wow, that's nice to see both talking
Thank you! So interesting.
Keep up the good work.
To interview someone usually means you ask a question then LISTEN and not constantly talk over them! Krauss is a bright guy but a blabbermouth smartypants. It was interesting to hear Bri get a few words in now and then.
I wanted to post that too. This interview could have been much better.
Where does it say that this was an interview? It is a conversation between 2 people.
@@stephenreilly3464 Actually it was not. As Lawrence said he was interested in May's views and hence the interview but he really was not. He is not very good at listening to other people.
@@aleksandarignjatovic3130 its not an interview
The nicest man on the planet.
I absolutely love this. Brian is such a polite and modest man!
This was a fantastic interview. All the topics were really interesting to listen to & learn. It was also cute how Brian mentions how it was his wife who encouraged him to go forward on stuff. But he is just an amazing man that I wonder if there is anything he can't do.💙👍🏻😃
So motivational! Love it.
I like that Lawrence calls Pluto a "planet." Pluto approves! :)
This man is a LEGENDARY GUITARISTS 🎸 QUEEN.
Brian May is a wonderful man and my boyhood hero
Brian looks like Isaac Newton.
Dr. Krause was like a little kid talking to Santa Claus. Great intervew. Love Brian.
Brian is such nice man but Krauss brilliance is just so overpowering..
Bonnie Dario
Brilliance? LOL You must be the dumbest human alive
Brian def seems bored by him
What a nice man.
I could listen to Brian endlessly! Just wondering if he is interested in going to outer space. He is so fascinating with all of his interests and avocations!
He has said it in other interviews, that he does not want to go to outer space. He would much rather help people here on earth solve their problems here. I think there’s a really good talk from starmus somewhere here on UA-cam
@@EmilyVanVlackhe also said that we as humans really do have to take care of our planet not polluting the space with our mess... And he is 100% right.
Brian May was once the "Love of My Life", "Good Company" & a "Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy"... but later began to say: "Don't stop me Now I'm Here" "i want it all", "I want to break free" "Some Day, One Day" and thought he was "Doing Alright" wanting to "Play the game" with "one vision", but came "under pressure", & was deemed to be both "Death on Two Legs" & a "Liar", then soon realised he was "the loser in the end", thinking: "see what a fool I've been" - "I'm Going Slightly Mad" and so "Was It All Worth It?". They used to say to him: "You're My Best Friend" but now say "Who Needs You" ya "Great King Rat?"... "You Don't Fool Me" you "Stone Cold Crazy" "White Man" ... "Nevermore" will I "Let Me In Your Heart Again" Brian!
Brian May: Dear Friends ... 😅
Queen always was my favorite band. Freddie forever, i was at the show in 2008 with Paul Rodgers, also legendary! Lawrence Thanks, I read your books 🤩📚
Very nice fellow Very intelligent
That was great Doc!! The questions and responses were on point and inspirational!! (Now I have more ammo to annoy certain clients with in Pasadena! 😁😁)
Lawrence Krauss interrupts every sentence Brian May speaks in this interview.
@LawrenceKrauss - Wow, your audio is fantastic. My quick thought was - "Cool, Lawrence called the audio department on campus, and they came over and said: cool, sure, you can use the Shure SM7b's that @JoeRogan uses, but we can also put better preamps than Joe uses." Bravo....The best audio I've heard.
Please give Brian some space
Well that wasn’t much of an interview but more like a monologue. Lol
I do wish Dr. Brian May have been given a little bit more air time on this interview. I was happy to listen to it
Why has this video only 1300 views, crazy.
I can't say for sure that Queen's News of the world album cover has never been featured on the Simpsons (I haven't watched the show in years) - but I believe the show Brian referred to was actually Family Guy.
Let the great brian may speak, for cryin out loud! The interviewer just loves to hear himself talk... So effin much!
Lawrence … the podcasts are great , BUT you must learn to interrupt less and allow your guest to speak more .
I scrolled down here to say pretty much the same thing. Within a collection of interviews, i.e. this entire channel, L.K.'s general thoughts on things will percolate to the top and be pretty clear. We don't need to hear it all the time. My constructive criticism is a plead for Lawrence to try reviewing his own podcasts and try to notice the ratio of his own speaking vs. the guest. I want to hear Lawrence Krauss speak when he is being interviewed. But when he's interviewing others, I'd sure appreciate if he was much more succinct with his questions and let us hear more what's in the mind of the interviewee. Post probing thoughts and questions and encourage the guest to express more rather than squelch their thoughts.
It's not awful - still a fun conversation to hear. But I do come away wishing I could hear so much more of the GUESTS' ideas in these podcasts. Oh well.
But, but, but... he's having a *conversation*.
i would think he's incredibly nervous speaking to the lead guitarist of queen... it must be such a thrill for him, on so many levels... pardon the pun... i think lawrence is "star struck" .
I disagree with your point here. I think maybe you're coming into the experience at the wrong angle. Although the best interviewer I have seen for some time is Sean Evans from hot ones, where the guests eat progressively spicier food. Maybe check that out if you're after a more interviewer / interviewee experience.
I view this as a symbiotic exchange and both have interesting things to exchange and share.
Let the guests do the majority of the talking. So many podcasts make it about themselves, you are the host. The guest should be speaking 90% of the time.
I absolutely agree! He constantly interrupts Brian while he is in mid flow and moves the conversation elsewhere far too quickly. We could have covered far fewer subjects but in much greater depth in this conversation, if he had let Brian continue to speak further on each point. Frankly, he annoys me in most of his videos. When I watch one of his videos it is the guest that I am interested in, and I’m sure that applies to most of us. Thank you for being one of the few who have commented on this.
If you want an awesome artists trying to get back to the surface, playing Queen songs, here's an example how to do it.
The challenge I have with these brilliant contributions is the lack of argument sometimes. As most of the guests are in agreement it can make some of the points mute or not developed further.
Moot not mute,
A great interview but I'm disappointed it was only 30 mins when other guests get 1 hour or longer.
Christopher Hitchens personal physicist..Legend.
Only 30 minutes?!
Barely got warmed up 😎🥢
musician? You mean MEGA ROCK STAR!
Rock and Roll is repeat with “MEGA ROCK STARS,” who can only loosely be called musicians especially in the 1980s.
One of the skills of a good interviewer is to get the guest to talk more than the interviewer. Krauss still needs to work on that. With such an interesting guy as Brian May, he messed up by not letting Brian speak more.
so interesting a conversation, brill
Is this Krauss interviewing Brian May or viceversa?
Come on
Wow!
Lawrence, stop talking and get Brian to tell us a story.
Shhh
Fantastic
I tell people all the time that I'd be an astrophysicist or rocket scientist if I could do math. My brain just isn't wired for it, but I never let that stop me from be passionate about any and all things space.
In the UK I feel that we owe a great debt of gratitude to Patrick Moore, then James Burke and, currently, Brian Cox.
They've helped keep alive an interest in science, when our successive governments seem to have lost interest.
Successful countries become successful on the back of science and technology. We need "outreach" to ensure kids are enthused to become scientists.
Who is the person being interviewed? The guy on the right who talks all the time?
So cool to see an interview with a rock star/sex God!
Also nice to see Brian May
Randomly - I was just looking at a set of Brian May Optima strings today. Also randomly I was thinking "I wonder whatever lawrence Krauss is doing these days".
It was Family Guy where Stewie was scared of the cover of News of the World 😄
Krauss sometimes sounds a bit like Dick Cavett to me.
Robert Plant and Alisson Krauss.
Not even 20k views?
You should get Tom Scholz from Boston on the show!
Too short.
After listening to this I'm really surprised that he accepted the knighthood. Just doesn't seem like the same person.
Brian May - ASMR voice. : )
Plasma universe. Thoughts, Rock Star?
Brian May is a PhD in astrophysics and a musician, yet he couldn't give more than half an hour? Or too much editorializing?
Thats really Rodney Trotter.
Larry says 100 words to Brian's one or two.
❤❤❤
That is quite the hairdo.

How did I miss this one year ago? 🥸

Yes, Art and Science should join together... against our common enemy the Humanities
Sorry - but we already have the arts. But we don't mind sharing. In fact it's more or less impossible not to.
- Sincerely, the humanities.
Love them all, Lawrence.
You’ve all had these things ready to release, skydivephil is releasing them.
You are. Sean Carroll has.
I get data LAST IF EVER.
I did luck out having enough game in order to land in the Right Battles with the Right People!!!! YAY!!!!

You All dumped Truck Loads of material.
I just actually Can’t Believe the Talent that tried to pick on me!!!!!
You’re Punking me.
How?
When? Who runs the Joke? Kermit?
Lots of comments on Lawrence talking too much and there might be some truth there but it's fine.
Yes, it's a conversation.
He built a guitar AND a spectrometer? C'mon, Brian, no one likes a show off... 😜
He also built a telescope ... 😮
Was it The Simpsons or was it Family Guy?
Family Guy, famously, but I suppose when you're a god amongst mortals, such details are trivial.
Won’t be watching any more, this guy talks much too much.
Q
Is there a robot operating the moving camera? It's a little threatening. Like 2001 or Moon.
A shame you talk so much
Hopefully, Krauss didn't grope May because he now looks like an old woman.
