- On 4th June 2017, Bolton Conservation Volunteers assessed the health of ponds on Kearsley Moss, near Bolton with a "pond dip" supervised by BCV leader Rick Parker. We also extended a path through the woodland to further enhance public access.
So much balsam weed on show, pity/ The motorway noise is awful and of course this is a drained peat bog. For it to become a local nature reserve, would it not be worth trying to cut back most of the trees (they might make for a decent sound barrier wall) and trying to restore it as sphagnum moss? If they can do it next to the motorway at Cadishead, why not here?
