I listen to this almost every night. I suffer from chronic pain, ADHD & Anxiety. This really helps me shut my mind down from over thinking things. If you are still struggling with anxiety then I highly recommend checking out John Glanvill on UA-cam and Patreon. He’s an anxiety specialist and is really helping me out a lot with my anxiety. I hope it can help your situation or anyone else that sees this post struggling with something similar. Keep your head up

I've had insomnia for about two year's now and my friend recently told me rain sounds were amazing for insomnia. So I looked it up a few weeks ago and Ive had a full night's sleep since then.

I wonder if the sounds of thunder and rain are calming because over time our subconscious has learnt that these sounds mean the end of drought.
That's actually a really interesting train of thought!
I lived in the deep tropical Jungle for about 2 years in the Republik of Central Afrika and we where like always on edge, it was fricken hot and you basically melted in the heat, but alas you had to work like 24.7. Most of the time I had to get water or look for fruit, but when the rain came pouring down with the thunder it reaaaaally calmed you:
First it DID meen that water, the thing we all need is there, easily reachable,
and second, since it was thundering and raining it was too dangerous to go about work and you where basically forced to take a break and relax..
It was the most soothing sound I have ever witnessed and up to this day my favourite weather is rain and storm because it calmes me.
But I never thought about it like that until you mentioned it! :D funny

Haha... I live in England too, but an American expat. I don't mind the dreary weather, but I wish we saw more of the thunderstorms and ear-shattering thunderclaps like back home.

I’m in a chair toasting crumpets in a tiny wooden cabin, there’s a crackling fire dancing below the grey stone chimney.
The rain runs down the dirty window and the wind beats at the door. Occasionally the dark night sky is lit by tongues of lightning, licking at the trees close by, the thunder moans in deep tones moments later. I am safe and warm, nothing can get to me, here in my cabin I have crumpets for my supper. The butter runs through my fingers in golden streams, the fire is glowing, it crackles as the rain comes down the chimney and dances in its mystical way. It keeps me safe and warm as the world around me is drowning in the incessant rain.
I love a good rainstorm. It washes all my anxiety's away. I've been on every medication known to man for my PTSD, Agoraphobia, PD, and ADHD I can tell you nothing comes close in comparison to These. I feel so calm when I wake up. No fears if only for a hours, it to me is a game-changer. I would trust this guy with a one on one hypnosis any day. Goodnight my friends 👍🙂⌛⛈☔
