That food in USA would have cost so much more! .30 cents for a liter of milk is unbelievably cheap!! It is over 2$ here. I do not understand why our food is so expensive. It's refreshing to go shopping with you and Alex, to see what you get for so little money. Thanks for taking us along! xx
In England we used to use SMUDGE fires to keep frost away from plants. You get a small fire going near your plants with sticks or wood and when it is going well put damp green weeds on it. Lots of water vapor which stops the frost damaging the plants. You also get rid of lots of weeds. I am surprised with the name Napoleon Cake as I would have thought he was considered nearly as bad as a certain German whose defeat you so rightly celebrated on the 1st of May.
I actually don’t care at all how much I have to pay for basic food. As long as one isn’t a single earner in a really large family, with an average income you cannot drink enough milk or eat enough bread until it really matters. Simply impossible.

I just paid 5.00 for 18 eggs in Canada. I paid 5 dollars for that many oranges. We are getting ripped off over here. I paid 85 dollars for 4 bags of food
