It's a real shame that this movie never got an extended cut.

The snake scene should've made it into the final cut. It's a cool reimagining of the Confrontation, it was tense, and most importantly DRAMATIC. It was a good storytelling tool. Moses came back after exile, tensions were flaring, and all the built up feelings culminated in one dramatic act. The Confrontation is one of the most important moments of Moses' story, and cutting it out was a big mistake.

The scene between Moses and Ramses in the throne is the best, this should to be included in the theatrical version.
They scane was good should keep it in movie's expect naked body of ramses
That last bit though - I THOUGHT I saw the Golden Calf in the theatrical cut, just really far away.
I think they could have found a different actress than Sigourney Weaver to play Ramses mother.
I feel this movie could equal Kingdom of Heaven- Directors cut if they released a definitive edition. Ridleys films are best suited as epics with a 3+ hour run time if needs be. Shame so much story, and character development, was left on the cutting room floor.
The last scene is very relevant when Aaroon can't speak anything about Beney Israel doing some bad behaviors.

They took the best scene, you had to see more coexistence with ranses as they were seen in these scenes. The movie is very nice but I always saw that everything is cut. I think they should have put it on.
I wish these scenes were used in Exodus

I was impressed by the last scene shown in this video clip. I understood people's nature and why even though God set them free, decided to follow their passions.
It’s curious how that mysterious boy that Moses keeps meeting is named “Malak” in the credits, that specific word means angel or messenger of God in Arabic.

@@ammagnolia Dude I get that. The problem arises when a Biblical piece of history is being taken to a certain media whether it's music, plays or the movies, and it's taken out of context to the people and what actually happened.
While I have a taste for the artistic style of cinema when it comes to this medium there is a point where the director (Ridley Scott) shows his disregard for the history entirely and decided to tell his own story instead of the actual events that took place. Here and there we can see little aspects from the Biblical history but in the end Ridley Scott decided to make his own "version" of that history, and all too often I see this in today's American culture where history is distorted for the advancement of, or the purpose to distort historical documentation. This was done on purpose.....
It states in the Bible "Do not add to, or take away from...." when it comes to The Bible.
While many Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses for example will state that this particular saying of.... "Do not add to or take away from scripture" only resides in The Revelation of Jesus Christ, they are mistaken, and wrong. Paul The Apostle also wrote......

"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
This movie here is in fact preaching, and it's purpose is quite clear. You have to understand this is an Atheists point of view from scripture. While many Atheists I know because I used to be one myself have used such "logic" like.....
"Well God just acts like a jealous child", and here we see Ridley Scot portraying God as a child who barely gives instruction. That's the first clue.
The second clue comes into play when "Moses" chiseled out The 10 Commandments himself, and while I have heard this argument again from my Atheist friends of the past it is written in the Bible that God was the one who wrote the 10 Commandments HIMSELF.
This is broad strokes, but I know the arguments of Atheists, and these two depictions here in this movie are an exact representation of The Atheist point of view, if at all an Atheist is even willing to make any kind of advocation to The Bible.
This was meant to be heretical from the get go. It was meant to make people speculate The Bible. This movie was and is a statement from The Atheist community. No Christian who knows this piece of history would write or direct this kind of script. This movie was meant to make a statement.
While I do see where you're coming from because I know the mentality you're in because I was there myself, and I shouldn't have to say this but for some reason people in today's America need that reassurance that they aren't being attacked, and you're not. The bottom line is this movie is heretical in every way.
On a side note I don't know if you're from America or not, but..... I'm just guessing.....

The snake being captured by the eagle looks like video FX from the 1980s... I'm guessing if it was used in the film it would probably have been done better.
Definitely the lesser of Scott's 'Swords and Sandles' movies, but that doesn't mean that it's bad, not by a long shot.

They’re all great actors but it’s much less believable watching Egyptian characters played by blue-eyed, fair-skinned people. At least Ben Kingsley (who isn’t Egyptian) looked the part & he’s always outstanding. The man playing Joshua looks like the Anglican version of Jesus lolol
At the same time we should be willing to admit that our idea of how people supposedly looked like in medieval or ancient times is itself mostly based on pop culture and simplified history.

I know that Ramesses II was known to be a red head. By the time he was born Egypt was most likely a whole mix of people of different kinds of backgrounds in terms of ethnicites.
