Totally gobsmacked and delighted, took the time to reset using the advice in this video and the difference to my throw is nothing short of amazing. I actually feel like a dart player again. Thanks Dave now i will be spending time catching up with all your videos
Your tips are like gold, instant improvement. Especially the throwing next to the eye style helps a lot, for years I threw from under or in front of the eye, but it's so simple, when you throw next from your eye, your elbow remains straight 👍👌
Thanks Dave for raising awareness concerning the wrist thing. I‘m facing wrist pain when throwing my darts at the moment and thinking of trying to switch to the other arm, implementing your advice👍
Clever that, Dave. You’re right - you can’t misalign the wrist when doing the OK sign. At least not without purposely doing so. Thanks as always. Glad you’re back!
Dave great advice I have had to adjust I don't know if you remember me telling you that I had a severe thumb injury and I have been playing with the lowe Taylor style Dart for years but I have now migrated to the 50 mm Dart again and having to adjust my throwing Style has been tough but getting the Dart over the top is the key and it's going pretty well for me now thank you for what you do
Hi Andy I remember you well mate and I remember saying that if you stuck to it it would come right you have persevered and the top of the hill has passed now comes the roll. keep up the practice and going back to basics every time you have a set back and you will become better and better. All the best Dynamite Dave.
I used to walk around “shadow boxing” when I was a boxer, ill now be walking around all day using this new practice throwing technique! Think I’ll call it “Shadow Darts!”
Thank You David And I get my Wrist in The Correct Way And not bend to the Left and you even know I throw Darts With My Left Hand And Thank You Mate And Great Upload 🎯🎯🎯. And It Does Take Sometime To Get The Wrist To The Correct Way.
Love your videos, any help would be nice, I play to a 75av can go to 85 but my average day is 75. However I have days that I want to give up, as I have this problem where my back is leaning backwards, head tilts and I throw from almost across my body, any tips to stop that? Thanks.
Thank You for the advice and help. I have one question. I know after you set yourself at the oche and line up with the twenty bull and 3, I know you said concentrate on the target whether its a double or triple but do you make any body adjustments at all or is it all from the same position?
Anthony Pugliese Hi buddy there are two ways you can approach this you can stay and adjust the arm speed but I tend to drop my shoulder and keep the throw the same. Body adjustment is more accurate because your keeping the base throw the same.👍👍🎯🎯👍👍
Hi DD great channel. But on the grip u never really address where the tip should b over the palm and palm placement? In this video u r showing the side of your hand towards the dart board. But when u throw it looks like your palm is facing the board slightly? Can u clarify plz and thank you in advance once again you have a great channel

When I Am Playing A game In A League Or In A tournament or Just Practicing. I Am Battling This Issue And It Is Causing My Darts To Drop or Miss The Board
Great stuff Dave. You see many pros begin their throw with a cocked wrist. I’m still confused on what part the wrist plays in the throw? Does the wrist start to uncock before, during or after the release? It appears in your practice that it stays firm, and releases after the dart leaves your hand. How much wrist cock, if any, is needed? Thank you.
Hi none is the best way and it all boils down to this. The more working parts there are in your throw the more you have to get pin perfect one every delivery to the board. For example if you like me have just two working parts to your throw the elbow and the release then how much more of a chance have you of getting those elements right. As opposed to someone who has fingers wrist elbow shoulder chest muscles etc all moving in there throw. I rest my case👍👍🎯🎯🎯👍👍
I need a nit of help from anybody. When im throwing, no matter what happens, my darts without fail completely avoit 20 and go to 1 or 5 (1 most of the time) any advice mate
hi Dave, when I try to align the wrist that way I cannot hold the dart pointing to the board. I am right handet and my dart points then to the 16s. Any advice?
Thank you so much it makes a massive difference to channel if you go and look back at the quality of the old videos as apposed to todays there is a world of difference and its all down to good folks like yourself thank you again Dynamite Dave..
Simply change the way you throw just look at my videos and the comments on them thousands of others have changed to the DD way and are better players than they ever thought possible so my advice to you is join them and here is where to start ua-cam.com/video/kBfad0mKLHQ/v-deo.html
@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn thanks for the reply. I watched the video. With respect, you show in the demo to do a karate choping motion, but when you start throwing, you too turn your forearm out and finish with your knuckles facing the ceiling. I think I actually solved my problem last night. I was bringing my arm into my body too far so I was basically aiming at 20s but lining up with the 1s. I just moved my arm over the left. Now my wrist goes through straight. Keep up the videos though. Good to see you stoll here on YT. ❤
i had 8 years off the board then i came back 2 years ago it took me 4 months and i was hitting 75 averages..i played like that for around 5 months now im hitting 55 averages its a huge step back..ive now been hitting 50 averages for around 8 months and about to quit!!ive noticed with my throw that my wrist is very straight up and my dart flight points up and my point aims down when in my grip!!so its like im back to front with how everyone else holds the dart..im pretty sure ive done it like this all my life but i want to change this..i feel like in order to do this i need to bend my wrist back to get that curve look to my dart but it feels really awkward to me..should i continue with my old throw or try out this new way of bending my wrist back more so my point aims up?cheers great channel btw!
It seems to me your at a crossroads in your game if you have a none standard throw then as your body changes your throw will to if you make the big diction now to start from scratch and build a mechanical throw most of my candidates see a massive difference in a couple of months if you go look at some of the comments on the videos it should tell you what I teach works but you have to be prepared to put some leg work in, the one thing I cant do is do it for you its hard work but believe me its so worth it.( watch this video and read the comms). ua-cam.com/video/XdCm7X6Qzsw/v-deo.html So if your up for it Start with the basics video stance and address get that right then its the basic arm positioning and onto the throw itself. the one thing I will tell you is if you stick to it here is what you can achieve I hit 16 yes that right 16 180s in less than two hours of open play only last week with loads of ton + finishes and double double outs. hope this helps Dynamite Dave...
Hi Dave I know this is an old video But just wanted to ask you about elbow pain from throwing darts ? I have not thrown since covid hit us here in Canada I think it was last March that our league stopped playing. I am retired now and with the lock down in again her in Ontario Canada I was getting board just sitting at him watching the telly. So I was looking for something to pass the time, so I set up my old dartboard. I have had this elbow pain when playing darts in league sometimes the next day my elbow would hurt at the base of my Biceps. I think it is from the follow through when I throw. I don't think I am throwing excessively hard or anything like that? I am not sure how to correct or fix this problem. PLEASE let me know if you have any ideas how to help me stop hurting my elbow shooting my darts. Thank You
Hi Wayne subscribe to the channel and hit the 🔔 below the video I do a live stream on Sundays 18.00 till about 19.00 and I will be reading your question out and giving an insight into it.cheers D Dave...
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn Hello again Dave took one of your hints and I use my phone and did a short very poor quality video of me shooting and I figured out the problem with my elbow right away... amazing!! I think I was subconsciously trying to protect my elbow and stopping my throw short and not actually following through. I could see it right away, I think this was causing my pain from my bicep trying to stop my arm from hyper extending. I thought I was following through too much and it was actually that I was not following through enough. After stretching my elbow a few times and then trying again and concentrating on following through, I found it was not hurting me to shoot any more. Thanks for replying and your GREAT hints & Tips. This should help get me back on my Darts Game. I will tune in on Sunday to watcH How do I find the live stream on Sunday night? Is it on UA-cam or a website? & how many hours are you ahead of Canada eastern time it is about 1830 hrs right now.
I’m having a bit of trouble with my grip and release. I stopped playing a few weeks ago for a couple of weeks simply due to boredom and not practising with a purpose until I started to practise again. But when I tried throwing my darts two weeks ago my grip and release has completely gone..when I release the dart it’s like as if my middle finger is in the way now and when I release it spins and lands in the board at such an angle it’s ridiculous and sometimes they don’t even go in the board. It’s completely destroying my confidence and making me not want to play. I feel like I am gripping and releasing the same as what I was before but for some reason they’re not releasing that way. I’m not even missing targets by a little bit anymore either I’m missing by a country mile..any tips? Thank you ☹️
The only way is going back to basics and re building as this will take the emphasis off your grip and release get the stance right then the tock tock mechanical throw the release should be natural. And always remember the harder you try the worse you will get breath yourself down let go of your anxiety and throw like its effortless and it will become just that. cheer D Dave...
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn cheers mate I do suffer badly with dry hands a lot aswell round normally this time of year I think that could also be something to do with it aswell. I have tried having a throw this morning going back to basics and I’m still the same I’m hoping I can get back on track! 😩🤞🏻
