Bihar's maize fields are fueling India's ethanol dreams, with 47 approved ethanol plants and a goal to replace 20% of petrol with ethanol by 2025-26. Maize, abundant in Bihar, has given a boost to farmers' incomes and spurred ethanol production. However, rising maize prices may pose challenges, necessitating increased yields to meet demands. While ethanol offers environmental benefits, its demand could inflate food prices. Bihar's success underscores the potential and complexities of integrating agriculture and energy goals, emphasizing the need for sustainable solutions to balance food and fuel demands.

Can we use this fuel in aviation??
disappointing to see this as a mongabay conservation news video. this is more of an agribusiness or ag. economics video on maize use for industrial biofuel use in bihar/india basically not covering any of the negative environmental impacts. also, such a misuse of the word "fresh" 😔
more localized and decentralized biofuel generation can be a good alternative, however this scale of biofuel production😔
What, if any ,are the negative environmental impacts of using bio fuels, pls inform .
Again , why are you not hvng the vision to cater to India / Globe. As such, Bihar is one of the most backward and poor states of India.
Why cant you think BIG.
Besides, supply of manpower to IAS/ IPS/ IFS/ IRS & armed forces , why NOT , supply bio fuels ? Or agriculture based ethanol. Pls explain @kikikutt22
If cheaper electric 2 wheeler comes into the markt by the end of this decade than the demand for patrol may go down and so will the demand for Ethnol. Ethnol production is only helpfull to indian exchangers till there is demand for petrol.
