Ian Rush, The Ghost [Best Goals]

- "He was perceptive and had two good feet. He is one of the most instinctive finishers football has ever seen. My partnership with Rush proved so good because he could run and I could pass. I would just try to put the ball in front of him. Rushie said that he made runs knowing the ball would come to him. That was true but only because his runs were so clever. His run was more important than my pass. Rushie was a good passer himself. He could have been a midfielder because his range of passing was great. Rush was easily the best partner I've ever had." (Kenny Dalglish about Ian Rush)
Music: Aysyne - Lightning Strike
This is a re-upload. Unfortunately the previous video was blocked. Enjoy Rushie's great goals!
I hope you make a video about Jan Ceulemans, Enzo Scifo, Erwin Vandenbergh, Franky Vercauteren, Eric Gerets, Rene Vandereycken, Josip Weber, Marc Degryse, Philippe Albert, Glenn Hoddle, Wesley Sonck, Alain Giresse, Luis Fernandez, Sergio Goycochea, Harald Schumacher, and many more legends
I might be wrong but I think Robert Lewandowski is similar striker to Rush.

He looked like a refrigerator salesman but what a great striker he was!
Great childhood memories...
So many young strikers could learn plenty from watching Rushie, notice how he very rarely takes more than two touches and never over complicates anything. I have never seen a more clinical striker in 50 years of watching football. Rushie was also the first line of defence and could also pick a pass...The complete player imo.
The complete no.9, was world class in more areas of being a centre forward than I can say of anyone else- and because he had so many tools in his toolbox and could decide what to do so quickly, it had an exponential effect of making him completely unplayable, because in any given situation when the ball gets played in he had 3-4 ways he could finish. He could spin, drop a shoulder for a yard, head, far corner, near corner, with power, with finesse.. In terms of a pure finisher there has arguably been noone better ever.
Usually with players (some of them better overall players than Rushie) they have their signature finishes- Messi has them, Fowler had them, Shearer, Ronaldo... Rushie could do it all.
Graeme Souness, Kenny 'King' Dalglish, Peter Beardsley, John Barnes, Bruce Grobellar... Good Football...
If I could think of a modern day player that reminds me of Rush it would be Lewandowski.
Ahem !!! LUKAKU ahem!!!
The only times he doesn’t finish in one touch is with his trademark turn and finish. Best finisher, left foot right foot head defender, best runs off the ball. He was deadly Goal Rush!
Growing up with Rush at the helm was a true blessing. He endeared me to Liverpool. Dalglish and John Barnes too. Legendary players. No doubt about it.
I'd argue Ian Rush had the greatest on pitch impact of any LFC legend of all time. Kenny is recognised as the greatest, but in all fairness he didn't come in as a youngster like Rush did and half of Kenny's legacy is due to what he did off the pitch. Rush was the best finisher in Europe for a decade, and if it wasn't for the Heysel disaster and the European ban his legend would be even greater I'm sure.
AC Milan had it easy with their legendary side at that time because they didn't have to face the great LFC late 80s team.
@@Tridentus i could only argue that Steven Gerrard could be more charismatic & impactful, but i grew up watching Gerrard so i could be biased. Rush looked insane though!
@@Tridentus that ac milan team is the 2 nd best team of all time.

I was 7 watching this man play. Been a Liverpool fan ever since
Rush was a goal machine! Some of those through balls though as quality too... and nice 80's style music 😂
😂😂😂
🤷😂😂😂
Ian Rush sucks
@@zudarzahnshow5759 don't see how but ok
@my email that's the beauty of his game. He was efficient, never wasted energy and was clinical.
Ian Rush a legend. The complete Striker. Fast, Skilful, Clever, Good in the Air, Two-Footed..what would he be worth in today's crazy market?
The best pure finisher of the 80's. The term goal machine was coined for Rushie.
One of the greatest strikers of all time and Liverpool's record goalscorer YNWA
Dalglish is bette
Here as a gladbach fan. Wow, what a player...
When he came to italy he definitively sucked
@@bagatzchannel500 So? Still one of the best ever. He did well in Italy. At Liverpool he was the greatest
@@nlsdrf1290 As an all round player yes but as a goalscorer no
Ian Rush have 346 goals in Liverpool FC, what machine!!! ⚽🔥
Ian is my great uncle (My grandads brother) I've only met him once but he's a proper nice guy and i hope to see him again soon 🏴❤
my uncles and father tell me rush was truly one of the greats. i believe them
He was! When he played for Wales... I remember
The bloke scored every game
My dad too, said he was incredible
Sure, Rush was a great great striker !
Clinical.
Efficient.
Consistent.
Technique.
Speed.
Intelligence.
Tactical Awareness.
The man was absolutely lethal.
The best finisher Ive ever seen, I wouldn't swap him even for Van Basten.
Best British Centre forward Ive seen.
Mark Hughes or Alan Shearer is maybe the most complete British centre forward & Shearer pushes Rush close but when it comes to putting it in the back of the net at the top level, nobody is better than Ian Rush.
The music. The moustache. The violence, speed and momentum. This video is coming in with huge Champions Club energy.
One of the best finishers i've ever watched, great video
I grew up on Rush, Aldridge, Barnes, Beardsley, Dalglish, Staunton, Grobbellaar and so on.
The greatest Liverpool side I ever saw.
Fell in love with football as a child from that moment on, and 45 years later still a true Liverpool fan
One or two touches and shooot no complications , I love this Stealthy effective style
Great striker, look how strong he is with both feet.
What a striker when you look back. The way he shielded that ball then swivelled and smacked it into the net was incredible.
Ian Rush. What a legend. The quality of some of the clips make me think of Commodore 64 football games though
Es increíble el poder ver a un gran jugador del pasado, la canción le dio el toque, aquí va mi suscripción 🤩🤩
The amazing thing about these goals is that you wouldn't know which was his stronger foot, not seen a player score so many with either foot.
Here cause fifa20. After this Video im mad if he doesnt get 5*weak foot and at least 4*skills
Tanjiro San they fucked him over big time 3* skills 4* weak foot
5 star on prime moments 3 skill
@@tonyboss6276 still dodgy
He is my favourite player in Fifa 20. His Moments is just unbelievable with an engine chemistry style.
Do you know what skills are it’s not dribbling
5:00 what goal, zidane style, Rushie was quality
First modern striker to play in England
Rush technique wow.. better than Torres easily. Sensational.. only messi and Gerd Muller n Ronaldo have more club goals for 1 club than Ian rush. Ppl dnt realise how fantastic rush was.. he can do it all and did it all dribble shoot left and right volley long rage headers . Top 5 best strikers of all time.
THE WELSH WIZARD
DONT GIVE HIM ANY SPACE IN THE BOX
If you get to close he will spin you, drop the shoulder or fake the shot anyway.
Ian Rush is one of those players you thought oh shit, when the ball fell into his path against your team.
As a non Liverpool fan what i remember of Ian Rush as a child and if i had to describe him in one word, it would be "prolific" .... if using two words, "goal machine" ..... three words, "non stop goals" .
In a very famous town in North West England that a rock n roll band originated from, Ian Rush is also known as the Goal Scoring GOAT!
Left right head . Volley . Lob dribble. Long range . Superb .
He did it so quickly and accurately with no hesitation. If the shot goes away just a fraction earlier than most strikers manage, the net bulges.
80s football was so much more alive than the modern game.
Money numbs the spirit.
my favorite player when I was young. I even thought Paula Abdul released Rush Rush song for him. lol
2:42 Zlatan's idol
great superclass player, did not know this player, greetings from Argentina
BEST LIVERPOOL STRIKER EVER !!!

@Cool Dude I do understand , I'm a huge fan of Ian Rush , I was blown away by him brewing up as young teen , with all respect 🎩
Just the 346 goals
He was so ahead of the of hes time. And the best striker in the land bk then. All i remember is hearing the commentator say RUUUUSH! On repeat lol. My fav striker of all time.
say that as an arsenal fan. Dalglish and rush in today's game. Wow
Great video great music
This sound is nostalgic and adrenalinic!
Ian Rush is my favourite striker. Thanks for the video.
#YNWA
Excellent player ✅
Ian rush un buteur de trempe mondiale, pour moi le numéro un , une véritable machine il ratisse tous , dommage n'a pas eu une grande équipe nationale qui lui permet de persévérer en coupe d'Europe ou coupe du monde
Absolutely deadly he scored all manner of goals.
I totally forgot how good this guy was. A world class striker.
People of these days could never see how much Ian was a mighty player!
I kind of wonder how great these strikers would be today. Feel like England didn't really have good defenders or goalkeepers until the 00's. I'd include my own Shearer in that. I mean thugs like Vinnie Jones were playing in the top flight. I think there's exceptions more in older playmakers. Maradona, Gascogine, who I think could maybe be successful in the modern game. I just wonder how many goals someone like Kane would have scored if he played in the 80s. I think Shearer and Rush's goal tallys would be significantly less, if they were playing against competent defenders like in Italy
What song is this?
It's epic
Now that i see this, It reminds me of Kane. Very well timed runs, efficient strikes (no unnecessary dribbling and or extra touches), and a great vision.
I came to know him when I saw his season score.
Quite impressive.....
I knew from the background music this was gone be good
He was the halland of the generation
He has a wand of a left fooo......oh wait he has a wand of right foot as well!
definition of a number 9.
1:15 absolutely filthy
Left foot, right foot, heading - Rush was a great great player..
What a player !
I'm a Arsenal fan but got to say John Barnes, Ian Rush and Peter Beardsley we're serious contenders
Forgot to mention, Lineker was a fraction of the player Rush was. What would Rush have done in an England shirt?
Best U.K. player since George Best. If U.K. played as a team at the WC they would have about 5 of them by now.
If only today attackers would study his goals, he just shoots from positions that today's players will hold the ball, pass it sideways, or drop back with it. He instead just shoots.....and scores.
Evertons nightmare
A clinical finisher
Lev Leshin - The Black Spider!
So thats simply the best volleyer in football. . Wow rush technique.
His playing style still fit in 2020
Damn he was good!
5:12 that fool was trying to steal his goal.
Im sorry but look does this man eve have a week foot my god what a player!
The only player I genuinely dont know what his dominant foot was
Truly two footed volleys etc with both feet
Good in the Air
In todays more open n protected game
Could probably double his career goals be close to 800 n he never took pens crazy
WHAT ball control!!
النجوم الحقيقية التي لم يتم نفخها
Omg Ian is a beast
Left foot right foot and head the complete striker.
Omg I wish nunez would have a little of what Rush had.
اعشق ايان راش منذ الصغر احببت كره القدم وليفربول لأجله
If we make a list of the greatest strikers of English football and not just EPL, Rush would easily swoop top 5 alongside Henry Aguero Shearer etc
Rush > Overrated Aguero
Welsh legend
Rush is a freak. He's like the Lionel Messi of Strikers. Wow
What a leap he had
Me encanta usarlo en las leyendas de pes19 , es mi favorito.
This is what a World Class player looks like...Shame he was Welsh.
Tough one but who was the better finisher Rush or Fowler?
❤, Mo, Salah
One touch specialist
Most 80s video I've ever seen
The greats that couldn't represent England.Ian Rush,George Best,Ryan Giggs,Kenny Dalglish,Gareth Bale
Roy Keane?
But didnt Fowler learn from him, i see a lot of similarities in their finishing.
A musica antiga ficou legal
Best volleyer ever

His style is very similar to Gerd Müller , no wonder he’s Liverpool top scorer
