  • A carelessly bolted together CNC router kit will work, but a little love and attention will make your CNC perform much more precisely and consistently. However, don't get carried away with the pursuit of perfection. Fix the low hanging fruit and move on with your life. You bought a CNC to make projects, not to be a project! These are my recommended steps for dialing in a new (or old) Shapeoko.

    This can be cut without your stock hanging off the front edge. You can make it bigger, and make it cover every last inch of your work area, but the risk of hitting a travel limit is entirely on you.
