I have several of the King Arthur chainsaw blades, and also the rounded grinding discs, and have loved them for rapid shaping on large-scale sculptures. Yes, they are powerful, because grinders are powerful - like anything with high rpm, it requires working carefully and paying attention to the way the blade "wants" to go for smooth cuts. Firm grip on the tool, light touch on the wood. Thanks for this very clear and useful video.

Can it be used safely? Probably. The issue is when you make a mistake. All people make mistakes over the course of time and this tool can cause catastrophic injuries when that time inevitably comes.

The rounded discs are incredibly efficient on most hardwoods. They’re basically a round, high speed rasp. A week later and I’m still waiting for my finger tip to completely grow back so I can hold a guitar pick. I’m in awe of these power carving weapons!!

Great video I’ve been using that Lancelots safely for years but didn’t realize I could double them. One point always have your grinder unplugged from power when installing attachments . you should show the plug end while installing.

I'm glad that I've watched this safety video. These instructions are usually short supplied when you buy Chinese tools. Thanks for your time making this video! From Cape Town 🇿🇦

Super helpful, I can now take this scarily efficient tool back out of the box and put it to good use! I didn’t have an amputation issue exactly but after one uneducated use, I was seriously intimidated. Thanks for the demonstration!

Thank you. You give more information on the the use of these cutters than anyone else I seen, esp on mounting the cutter and guard position. 🐯

I think that the issue is that most ppl use this to cut 3 inches wood nor for woodcarving thats was made for.
For wood carving or cutting thinner peaces of wood i think is good obviously using all the safety rules

So you are saying no... this beast moving at those rpms is just like riding a motorcycle its a matter of time until you mess up or get messed up and the severity is based on luck. Even using a chainsaw has those arresting chaps and many safety requirements, and it does not move at that speed. You cant count on the guard on preventing that chain from breaking and wrecking your day they are made for regular disks that explode sometimes. People use these and what happens if you hit a nail. Just dont use it the bit should have a dedicated tool made for it at least to consider it

I get that you guys make a superior product, but there are a lot of people I know who can't even use a cordless drill safely.

I've been using one for a long time. The genuine article, not a Chinese copy. It requires special safety precautions and when used in FULL compliance with those instructions, it's possible to use it safely and effectively. But it's not to be used by anybody who isn't RIGID about safety practices.

    "always pull, never push"
That's where things go wrong, the idea that you actually always do that while working.

at least you have your legal bases covered too by including instructions because improper use can result in injury and even death.

I bought this tool not realizing how dangerous it can be. I was very disappointed in the instructions provided - but what I found really upsetting was that the specific bit required to fasten the tool to the grinder had to be ordered separately- and wasn’t even available where I purchased the attachment. The instructions were poor - and the requirement to use the specific nut should be prominent in the instructions. I assembled the attachment without the specific nut and the chainsaw blade flew off and nearly ripped through my leg.
Nice idea , perhaps, but over priced and poorly explained. I’d like my money back as I’ve never really used it and after reading all the negative information I don’t think I’ll bother using it.

This is the reason for the video is to educated users on the proper use. It clearly point out in the video that the Lancelot and Squire blades come with very detailed information where as the chain saw blades made in China do not. In the 17 years of using these cutters in the correct manner never have I had one come apart of experience kick back.

I use brand name and Chinese disc on my cordless grinder. I am surprised that the government hasn't forced us to register these tools. They are extremely dangerous.

The answer is no. This ridiculous thing doesn't belong anywhere near an angle grinder. An angle grinder is not a woodworking tool.
