I was getting a lot of static noise so I had to go in and under the advanced tab uncheck the box that allows applications to take exclusive control of this device that seem to work for me. If anybody else is having this problem I would do that

Happy that we have video like this to enable things we assume are there by default. Literaly pick this board because it as SPDIF out, most B650 Asus board dont.
Was able to start the FXConfigurator by using another AutoHotKey Version. But the changes i apply then are not correctly applied. The Device is not showing DTS Interactive

For optical spdif i have pc spdif> vizio 5.1 soundbar> hdmi arc> tv arc . I just use volume adjuster on my keyboadd to control levels Tysm!😊

I tried this on Windows 11. It doesn't work for me. I installed DTS Connect and DTS Digital. (I needed Microsoft c++ 2008 redistributable package ) I applied DTS Connect in Fx Configurator (I needed AutohotKey v1.1 to launch it ) but there's no "DTS Interactive" in advanced tab. I don't know what I missed.

Great tutorial ! Really appreciate it! This method applys to nVidia/AMD HDMI HD audio in windows. However, The DTS interactive seems not to work on Intel Arc. Only old Dolby digital format works.

I have just set up dolby digital and find it working great with the Dolby Home Theatre v4 App. Is it possible to have both dts digital and dolby digital and then switch between them to see what and how one or the other sounds better? Just in case you know the Harman Kardon HKTS 30 with BDS580 receiver (5.1 system), what would you recommend for that system - dts digital or dolby digital?
@thefaulenzer677 dts has a higher bit rate them Dolby over optical You can only have one codec patched at one time I personally recommend using pcm 5.1 if you're using a avr with hdmi support by running a pc hdmi into the game hdmi input pcm is fully uncompressed and will offer the best sound quality
Thank you for the quick reply. Now my situation is a 4 monitor Setup, that together is like an 80" TV. I stream everything from the pc and want to just send sound signals to the receiver. I use optical till now cause its easy to set up - plug and play. So for HDMI: from the PC into the game hdmi - what do you mean with game hdmi? And what HDMI port do I use on the PC? The motherboard HDMI port or the gpu hdmi port? Id think mobo (motherboard) but correct me. Again, my goal is to only send sound to the avr, nothing else. Is HDMI a thing for my situation or is there something better suited?

I did watch that already. But you are basically doing Laptop ----> avr ---> beamer/monitor right? I want pc ---> monitor | +--> avr I tried to connect gpu with avr hdmi input and set it up like to show in the video. I have 4x Nvidia high definition Audio to pick from, neither of them works when setting the receiver to hdmi 1/2/3 in. Also, the only audio channel i can pick there is Stereo. I guess its meant to be like your setup, with the avr in between.
Does this work with games? Like if you set in game audio to Windows default while having optical connected to a 5.1 system, does the game know to output 5.1 surround sound?

Can this work with Realtek on board sound card HP laptop sending signal to spdif over usb c? I tried both audio over usb and hdmi arc but I only get 2 channel output. Unfortunately that's windows 11 itself being a dick the only way to fix it is to do a system restore to a point before you installed the mod this is purely a fault with windows 11 and not the tool

What is that Microsoft have against Optical cables? First, they remove it from the Xbox, then they won't support 5.1 on Windows 11?

dolby digital sound was created but the subwoofer sound has disappeared
after the windows 11 24h2 update, the dts interactive option doesn't appear :(

Unfortunately it is what it is can be finicky at best no matter what don't go to windows 11 or your not have it working for long XD
