Good on you mate, inspirational stuff as always. I used to make loads of stuff like this for myself and others and it's definitely something I want to revisit this year. We've taken on so many other projects and learnt / are learning so many new skills having moved to our own little plot of land 1 year ago, but now is definitely the time to revisit some of these old skills. Thanks for the video and the subtle kick up the back side to inspire a return to pallet wood and recycled wood projects! Keep up the great work Joe. 👍
That planter is beautiful and super sturdy, it will never fall apart! Great job! I love free wood. I'm lucky enough to work at a warehouse where I can have all the pallets I want. I have loads of kindling for the woodstove this winter PLUS wood for building projects! Thank you for all of your great ideas and inspiration :-)
Hi just watching your show which is great by the way and wanted to inform you that the saw handle has 2 edges that connect to the blade which form a 90 and 45 degree angle from the straight edge which means no more eye balling 👀👀👀👀
Thanks for the tips when mitring it’s always something I’ve struggled to do, but your tips make it so much more understanding, definitely something I’m going to give a try.
Have you thought of getting a power inverter for the van? That mitre saw would make those corners a breeze. Always looking forward to the next video, keep it up!
Can't wait to see more of your pallet projects. I'll have to try to make some of the planter boxes. I learn something I didn't know you could use the saw blade or the handle to make a straight edge. Miss Kelly, say hello for me. From Iowa, US. :) :)
Kenneth Stensrud I should do but I’ll replace it instead when I can find the rite blade as it was from Lidl lol I’m not recommending anyone else to use dull blades mate.
Andrea Jones Only found that out today after another someone else mentioned it, you miss some details like that when you’re self taught I guess, thank you I will use it on a future project
@@diggingfordinner and a 90 degree one which comes in handy with pallets to make the project nice and square. Learnt in CSE woodwork 1980s and i had to fight to get moved from home economics as i already knew how to cook and sew.
Andrea Jones I’ve had zero schooling and even less education elsewhere. Sometime I wish I had the opportunity to have gone to school because I feel like I missed out big time but other days I meet people who were schooled and they know literally nothing about real life so it’s a toss up lol
@@diggingfordinner I'm not touting as I've been watching your videos for ages but there is free construction training available if you are interested...DM me for details.

I love that planter. It looks so achievable even to someone with zero wood work skills also made for a very worthy cause !
Lottie Brilliant to heat that because that’s exactly what this series is all about 😁🛠
@@diggingfordinner do you have to line the planter at all or just put compost straight in?
Lottie I wouldn’t line it for a tree no if it was for bulbs or a plant of some description then I probably would yes.
@@diggingfordinner thank you
As soon as i get some wood im making loads of these. Great vid mate. I made some ages ago the really hard way now its easy lol. Thanks mate.
Adam Snowball Hi Adam, I’m glad to hear that mate haha get pallet hunting 👍

Ken Cannon I have Ken but I was quoted £1000 and can’t afford it haha
@@diggingfordinner wow that seems really high. How many amps does the saw need?
Another nice job Joe. Keep doing these video , I really enjoy them . Cheers

Beautiful
You should give the saw bladet a run of a fine file to sharpen it, the circular saw that is, as we know dull tools are dangerous sometimes.

good job well done
Well impressed m8 looks nice and rustic
goonluv Thanks mate will do for a small tree aye mate
your saw has a 45 degree angle in the handle so you dont have to measure roughly, you can be exact.
