      you shuold have counted , what eyesight they have ,use glasses ? arm and shoulder strenght + -How much they practise and do the do physical exersises ? , One question that seems tabu .. men drinks alcohol every weeked and still not one pro drinks ..ever , Do they play within 1 hour after sleep ? Do the play better with short or very shorter sleep than they normally sleep ? There are questin nobody talks about and yours are the one that old as 25 years -even back then pros hold back on their knowledge and keept secret

    I have a theory to add on why support players have slower sensitivities. Zenyatta mains back then prefered a slower sensitivity because it was easier for them to hit shots. I think since zen was basically the very first "Flex Support" character in the game, when Ana came out later on her non-scoped shots were also projectile, so it probably made sense for them to also have a slow sensitivity on Ana. This leads us to the newer generation seeing that their favorite players were on slower sensitivities and adapted to it as well, like you were saying.

    The other thing about Ryujehong was that he admitted to actively changing his DPI depending on what hero he was fighting. He had a super low natural sens, but he actively changed it to combat the high mobility in the game.

      also the other thing with sensitivity, we don't know what pros could be using RawAccel, surefour is the only pro who has admitted to using it, but I doubt that he is the only one.

    Something to keep in mind here as well is that all mice (even separate units of the same model) will almost always have a dpi variance that isn’t 1:1. Most reputable brands, this will be slight but some mice can be drastically off. 5 sens on 800 dpi on one mouse will feel off on another mouse.

    • @StruthGaming
      @StruthGaming  Рік тому +1

      Great point, I used to measure my true DPI values with the KovaaK's sens matcher and had some shockingly variable results between mice (not the same model though). I think the worst different was my Model O being 710 when set to 800 and the Zowie FK1 being 875 when set to 800. That's a big change when you hot swap the mice but keep the same sensitivity.

    as a support player especially who plays at a high sens because that's what I'm used to, I definitely understand why alot of support players play a lower sens. Its likely because ana is such a popular hero and probably most high level owl players play ana to some degree. Therefore most players have a low sens similar to that of a hitscan DPS player for the same reason that hitscan players do

  • @tobii9783
    @tobii9783 Рік тому +2

    The reason why DPS players also have a higher sens is, because they also play flank chars like tracer with fast flicks and very much changing positions. But Supports rather hitting consistently to keep the team up

    Quality content delivery! My sens has being 7.37 x 800 DPI for years and feels slower in Overwatch 2 because the game plays faster. I'd use the same sens balanced to the F.O.V. in games like P.U.B.G. and Battlefield what results in different 360 distances still feels the same on screen movement.

  • @potats6713
    @potats6713 Рік тому +2

    I was wondering how low my sens was in terms of the average for OW players, because I always played low sens since I was a kid, after watching this it's safe to say I definitely have 1 of the lowest sens in the game with 3.75 400 dpi or 92.363636 cm/360, and to top it off I am a DPS player who mainly play Tracer, Cass, Ashe, and Genji. Honestly, It doesn't really feel like a disadvantage because I am so used to low sens to the point that it hurts my arm when I go to higher sens. I mean I got to high Plat last season on Support and DPS, so it's not too bad although playing without airconditioning sucks cause of the intense mice swipes you have to do every second while playing Tracer or Genji. In the end it's still personal preference, and not all sensitivities are the same.

    lmao my 360 is 7cm. I'm just too used to using only my wrist and mouse lift instead of hugging the desk for elbow shoulder movement. My sens is naturally adjusted to having a 180 turn back by just curving my wrist to the right or left from it's natural position. The cost is that i'm inconsistent af. Slower sens is easier and more consistent.

    I have another theory on why support have a lower avg sens, one of the most popular dps heroes are genji and tracer, widow has a zoom sens setting and her hipfire doesn't require accuracy, ashe has an ads setting aswell, junkrat doesnt need precision... Etc.. supports like zen and kiriko do require precision and are not in the front lines, ana has an ads setting but her hipfire requires precision, so does her sleepdart

    • @Isaacjballin
      @Isaacjballin Рік тому +1

      this is a really late response but great theory. if you are playing flex sup idealy you only need to make 180s to deal with flanks and tracers/genjis. I also know that flex sup has more outliers to lower the average even more for example Izayaki one of the most mechanically gifted flex sups plays on a super low sens, there are a lot of flex supps who play on low sense I think this is because tracking isnt as important for their aim styles.

  • @danichelsonhd

    LMFAO I knew my past sensitivity were high 4.5 cm/360° (btw I play Junkrat, and this was perfect to do airshots back then), and when I tried 33.6 cm/360, I was shocked of how difficult was to do a 180°. I up to this day can't use this sense, so I'm using 13.85 cm/360°, AND IS SO EASY TO PLAY HITSCAN. Por 2 years I thinked it was not for me, now I can enjoy my aim finally.

      It's bugged from the latest patch. Any time you open your options it gets set to the nearest round number. It also resets for me at the start of some matches without me opening options. You can set it to your normal settings and close out and it'll work until it breaks again :)

    Wow that's interesting I thought I had a slow sens but it seems mine is much higher than average, unless I'm calculating it wrong lol! I have 2400 DPI @ 2.55 sens in OW2 giving me about 22.63 cm/360. I main DPS. Would be interesting to see if those pro players are mostly aiming from their wrist or elbow movements.

    Why? You may ask. Its because my Desk limited space and high. My hand position is terrible.
    This makes doing long movements pretty much impossible.
    And as you can imagine my aim isn't very good... Still good enough to be a mid Plat.
    @ Pros probably use Mouses with mult sensitivity selection/macro buttons. Imagine needing move you mouse 1m to track a flaking tracer... Impossible.

    The idea that mouse DPI influeces prefered sensitivity doesn't make any sense. In windows you can make 800 DPI feel exactly like 400 DPI with the cursor speed options. And ingame there are no real differences either if you half your sens and double the DPI. The only differences are that with a lower sens and higher DPI the minimum amount you can move your croshair is lower so that slow movements are smoother but require slightly more processing power which is neglectable on modern hardware.
    I think there is a correlation between liking lower sensitivities and playing a lower sensitivity in overwatch. And I think there is also a correlation betwen liking lower sensitivities and picking a lower DPI.
    But that doesn't mean that these players picked the low overwatch sensitivity because they had a low DPI. The real reason why 400 DPI players have 46cm avg is probably because with 400 DPI you will have significant pixel skiping with a higher overall sensitivities because you have to turn the ingame sensitivity up so much. Anyone who was on 400 DPI and wanted to play on 30cm probably switched to 800 DPI and halved the windows sens.

    • @StruthGaming
      @StruthGaming  Рік тому

      The DPI you use for general PC use and in-game menus influences what mouse movements you use. 400 DPI and you're swiping around just to browse UA-cam. Stands to reason that when playing a game you'll gravitate to an in-game sens that requires similar mouse movements to your normal PC use.
      While you can adjust your cursor speed, i'd say that almost no one actually bothers to do it, so it doesn't really factor in.
      I've used this myself to try sensitivities on the extreme ends. For me to play on 20cm/360 it feels impossibly fast (DPI around 600-1200 usually), even after days or weeks playing a game on it. If I adjust my DPI to something like 3200, I can make 20cm feel very comfortable in a really short timespan. Doesn't mean I aim better on it, but it feels comfortable rather than impossibly fast.
      I'm of the opinion that the results of that example can be observed in large data sets like what's used in this video.
