So funny seeing the difference between US and Germany here, haha! We text whenever we want/need. We switch off the phone (or the sound of the phone) if we are not or don't want to be available. :)
I wouldn't silence my phone ever in case there is an emergency and someone really has to get a hold of me. That's probably why Bonnie doesn't silence her phone. I agree with the previous poster that it is common courtesy to not text/call early/late unless there is a dire need.
The thing is though I have a house phone, so if someone really wanted to get hold of me - they phone my home phone in the middle of the night. All of my friends (Im 29) & I have our settings set to vibrate or silent at night time (or simply turn the phone off), some of my friends do night shifts, have babies, have different sleeping patterns, so we have no curfews or set times to text one another as it's likely we'll catch each other at an odd time at night or early morning! I'm also disabled so my sleeping patterns can go topsy turvey. However! If I knew of a friends waking hours I would be very respectful of such & wouldn't text or ring early morning or late evening - although over here most are up at 7:40am for work or getting children ready for school, but we never expect immediate responses either unless it's an 'emergency' (if you will!) But I respect its different strokes for different folks & everyone's different in different countries x

My neighbor once text me at 6:45am to set up a play date for that day. I of course didn't get it until about 8am when I woke up. I had my phone on silent so it did not bother/wake me, but I thought it was funny that she text me so early! I personally wait until at least 8:30am unless it is family or urgent...but to just meet at the park?! lol

Also, I need to start practicing the school picture smile with my kids before their pictures next week. There is always one that turns out perfect and one that has the awkward smile!

And the worst is she picks it up and that friend would keep talking to her until like 1am as if it's a normal thing to do... Some people don't know the common rules of life...

+Kelly Jensen She follows the advice of a book called Baby Wise. When you do things on a specific schedule.....eat, play, sleep..... it helps you to know what the fusses mean. I didn't understand my first baby's cries but I used Baby Wise with my second and it was much easier for me to know what she needed.

Loved the Vlog awesome as always! So my wife and I agreed that it is more of a generational thing with the texting and courtesy. Back in the day when cell phones first came out it applied but today most kids grow up texting whenever they want till 3 a.m. or 6 a.m. when they get up it is part of always being connected. Most smart phones and specifically I-Phones come with a do-not-disturb mode where you can add select numbers such as immediate family or friends who can still get through. I would look at texting more like e-mail. It is a less formal way to get in touch with people & when you send it and they respond on their time. If you miss a text and the person didn't follow up with a phone call then its not your fault either. Idk, I am sure everyone has a different view point but I guess I am just saying they probably didn't see it as being un-courteous. Keep the Vlog's coming, you guys are awesome!
