Errata corrige: At a certain point I describe a compass and a square as a Soviet star on a gate with freemasonry symbolic meaning. Only the latter aspect is correct. I got confused by the West Germany Soviet logo that indeed reports a compass.
Beautiful place! Goes to show you, modern architecture is not always the best!
🤗 THANKS GUIDO …FOR THE TOUR OF BUDAPEST AND THE MUSIC 🎶 AND THE LITTLE SHOPS 🏬 AND THE STORES TO GO ALONG 👍😍😍😍
What a beautiful city.

I love record shop tours - please do one from my hometown in Bari
A fascinating trip around Budapest. I'd love to visit Hungary one day
Budapest is such a lovely place. Until corona was started I‘ve been there lots of years minimum one time per year. Thanks for showing all these little record shops, I will search for it the next time. Great video 👍 Regards from Hamburg/Germany
Really cool! I love the older architecture of Central European cities. Gorgeous buildings, passageways to cool hidden places… I guess I’ll have to visit Budapest now.. I hope they know about food allergies though. Thanks Guido for taking us on this trip with you and presumably your family!
Thanks for uploading this, as I am a Hungarian-American. I love Budapest. I have several cousins that live there and we visited them in 1992, right after the Russians left. We went to a jazz club called the "Merlin" which was excellent. A great city indeed!
Thanks for sharing that!
Wow what a beautiful city. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful! Love your enthusiasm. Nice to see others around the world enjoying music.
Great video! Thank you for putting all the time and work to make these.
Wonderful video!!! I've always wanted to travel to/ hang out in Budapest. Get some goulash & music shopping. Wonderful city. Cheers from California
Forgot about the goulash when I commented. That was an all time favorite my mom used to cook for me as a kid. Haven't had it in years. lol...just pull it up on the net.
Lovely video with lots of interesting things to see. My only disappointment was not seeing what ANA[DIA]LOG bought.
I think I could spend the rest of my life there, with my girl, my equipment, my music and possibly a kid. It just looks laid back, very chill. Throw in a good coffee shop and café..... what more can you ask for? Great vid man, Just saw the rest of the vid with the Jazz club. A-1!
True!
love budapest
Damn.. always fascinating to visit record shops but that is a very cool location
When I saw the movie of the Donau River, it immediately reminded me of Linz! You easily can mix this up if you don´t look carefully!
Great tour thanks ..looks interesting..
Your content is getting better and better, keep up the good work.
Very nice! Thanks.
An yes, I agree there something special with hungarian music, I love It.
Great musicians too, do you know the wonderful piano player György Cziffra ?
I don't! Tell us more!
Nice looking record stores. And I have to say that town looks beatiful.
mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
Excellent video, well done👍
This is fantastis, I'd like to watch more videos like this!
Here's my other video, an Audiophile in Japan: ua-cam.com/video/1PwEYhDWjB8/v-deo.html
@@anadialog I've finally got to watch that Japan video, and while expectations were high given it's Japan no less, they were wholly fulfilled. Wow, how I wish I could be around that kind of places for a while, it was fascinating. Thanks, Guido.
Hello! I think you really enjoyed here! Thanks for making this video! This was as good as usual! Greetings from Hungary, countryside!
It was great but as I have learned in other countries. The capital is a world apart from the country itself...I hope I will go back one day and explore the rest!
I have that Heathkit Integrated amp! ...and I'm in the USA!
Muy bueno 👌
Really great video mate.
👌👌

If you're ever in Roma, could you do a video like this there? Btw, I loved the history part and the tours of the museums and seeing the unique architecture.
Why not!
Yes a very well constructed video. I live just outside the city in a town called Budaors so I know most of the music stores you mentioned. I would agree Wave is good for Hungarian cds but be warned it is pricey. I think that is also the case when buying second hand stuff from Lemeszkucko where all cds tend to be at least 3000fts and often more. But it does have a very good range and as you said, a decent selection which includes Hungarian artists. Mind if you pop around the corner back onto the Korut, and within two minutes walk from Lemeszkucko you will find a cd shop with a bright orange frontage selling cds mostly for under 2000 fts. The owner does not speak any English and his selection is not as good as it was before the pandemic. I do wonder if he may have had to closed down in twelve months, hopefully not as I have bought dozens of cd's from him over recent times at bargain prices. L agree that Laci Bacsi in the 7th district has a decent selection for vinyl, and in the main with more reasonable prices compared to many of the second hand stores in the city. , On the live music front the one glaring omission I would say from the many venues you could mention would in my mind be the A38 on the Danube. It is a unique place in terms of tis range of styles plus its mix between both local and international artists. It has a fairly modest and intimate atmosphere and a number of actual stages. As far as international acts I have seen Tens Years after, Black Stone Cherry and Richard Bona (ex Pat Metheny Group) have all played the main concert hall. In the coming months, Haken, the Slow Readers club, Bears Den and Carl Palmer are all scheduled. I sadly missed the Pineapple thief gig that was back in December. And in the coming week a fantastic local progressive rock band who have supported Dream Theatre in the past, called Special Providence have a reunion gig on. Ticket prices certainly compared to the UK are also very reasonable.
I did go to that shop...I found a DVD-AUDIO of classical music! Thanks for sharing your reccomendations.
Just a quick note. Actually you can find a lot of hungarian records in Romania, especially in Transylvania, due to the fact that a part of the romanian population is hungarian and there was a high demand for hungarian records. Still to this day as a romanian hungarian I have the chance to buy a LOT of records made in Hungary.
Interesting, thanks!
Come in Padua! I am waiting for you!
Eh eh!
Hello sir I m from India I loved ur UA-cam channel I m u subscriber 👍
Welcome on board!
Lemezkuckó (pronounced: lemez kutzko, means: vinyl or CD snug) is the BEST in Budapest!!!
Thank you! Yes, I think I can agree on that, but also Wave had several records on my list...soon I will do a video on the finds!
@@anadialog it's great! I would have been so happy if I could drink a coffee with you while discussing the big questions of hi-fi world! I am a bit sad, I'm your big fan! If you want, you can contact me. I live here :)
That men who is playing violin, that melody is similar to so-called "csardas", Hungarian traditional and folk melody.
Yes! In fact I said that in the video!
I wanted to suggest you Laci bácsi lemezboltja and Lemezkuckó, but I see you found them. :)
:-)
2:08 - I'm sorry, the Square and Compasses sign has nothing to do with the five-pointed star. It is best known as the emblem of freemasonry, but it is was also the emblem of the architectural profession in general. This building, at Szent István körút 16., dates back to 1898 and I'm certain that the Square and Compasses were there from the beginning.
No need to he sorry. I think you may be correct. The west Germany soviet logo has a compass like freemasonry, which I did mention in the video, but looking again my footage the square seems to depict a star but it is just a square.
LOL- why did you put the camera up that high ? Looks weird and does not help to show the surroundings if that was the goal. Just put it off center and on eye level when you want to be in the frame while talking (which is fine).
Do you know what the name of the song in the tiny shop was?
I don't but you can try to contact the owner via Facebook...I added all the links of the shops (when present) in the video description
Do you contact him? Wanna know too, thank you
Ohh you were here and I did not know???? :(
🤫
Hey my brother, I am a local and I would be glad to give you a quick tour of some nice record stores and soundsystems if you’re interested ;) local knowledge goes a long way in this neck of the woods…
Absolutely! Feel free to add more great little places....maybe I will come back one day!
@@anadialog You did a great job on your first trip, loved the little historical context, and you even found the legendary Newport Records. Next time though, be sure to book a table at Opus Jazz Club for dinner during a concert. It is in an amazing building (Budapest Music Center) that also has an excellent studio on top. They produce high-quality releases under the BMC label….jazz and classical, local and international artists, affordable but truly excellent sound… this will be right up your alley. Check out some of our local audio manufacturers too, I wholeheartedly recommend that you experience a BAYZ speaker sometime, its something exceptional. Also plenty of fine tube amps being made around here, if you know where to look. Thank again for your visit, glad you had fun!
Darn it! Opus was on my list! Thanks!
No problem…hope you get to check it out next time. Might be worth asking if there are any hifi gear on demo there currently on the top floor, you might get lucky ;)
Also, I’m sending a little bird your way….might stop by your inbox sometime.
Happy to see the older guy in the yellow shirt not wearing a NWO shame muzzle 😷!
Do we need CDs? No, we don't: they are digital, they spin inside a drawer and they cannot be flipped over 😄😉👍🏻
Go to Italy for prog....
I know...I am Italian! 😉
not too many bombs? almost every week at every construction/excavation site there is a 100/200/500kg Russian/US bomb is found and safely transported away for destruction far away from the city :)
Wanna talk about Dresda? :-)
@@anadialog everything is realtive :)
Nobody with musk against Cov-19?!?
Fortunately musk is not mandatory on streets. Only inside (except where you eat or drink).
