Lakota Winter Counts

Two Smithsonian experts describe the Lakota tradition of creating Winter Counts as a way of recording events.

Thank you so very much....
We have studied under Abraham Park (s. Korea) until his passing, and he taught us that the genealogies of Joktan are the same .
They condensed so much into one name each generation that when you open up their meaning and apply the events of that time it creates a living history that defines the Time and Hope of the people.
