😂🤣😂 hey guys let's sit right behind the catcher so we can see the spin on the ball and feel the speed and just in case 90mph is missed we can stop it with our teeth.
Q60 Jay I was going so say that. Changeup needs to be with the same amount of energy. Grip will take some off the MPH and then he needs drag his back foot that takes off some speed too. Same energy, same look and big speed difference. In this video his changeup is him just throwing it slower and his body gives it away. All fixable, he is blessed with a great arm.
in bullpens right next to each other, the pitchers will alternate so they don't hit each other. U can see 35 getting ready when the guy in the video finishes his pitch.
His mechanics are an arm blowout just waiting to happen. He needs to slow down his delivery and throw it smoother. He may even add a couple of notches to the fastball.
@@TampaJohn Im in high school and now everything is now more more more that’s why a lot of kids are having tommy John surgery it’s better to paint the ball and throw less hard then to blow your arm out totally agree with u
@@alexroski8454 I was a senior and I had a scholarship lined up. I threw a slider and the ligaments on the bottom of my bicep tore clean off. The bicep actually rolled up in my arm. Bye scholarship. Nice to have almost known you. But yeah, as to your point, I agree. Unfortunately, scouts look for power arms that they can mold. Even if they’re just throwers, they’ll get drafted with the hope that they can make him a pitcher instead of just a chucker.
@@TampaJohn the person I try to copy is Nolan Ryan I read his book and in there he said way to many people were working out so much and get hurt to easily he said that you see a kid throwing 96 one day then hurt the next all about the mechanics
Vic Rodriguez yeah between that, his center of gravity and hand placement he might as well greinke n just tellem what’s comin haha but he’s got good stuff!
I always get nervous watching these videos, I remember one time I was on the mound and I got really annoyed, I put my all into a fastball straight down the middle. Hardest pitch I ever threw, also one of the last. Arm has never felt the same since
this young guy is going to be in the MLB. the slider is spot on. the fast ball is good enough (location, location, location) - four seam up, two seam down. it's going to be a question of how often he uses his change up. the more, the better it becomes. just seen the change up. this kid is now, going to be a future all star. done. next step is about health and consistency.
That’s a rotator cuff blowout just waiting to happen. Max effort on every pitch. Plus 93-95 is very average for the majors. Though it looked like he did have a pretty nasty slider.
@1banana2kiwis 1. Yes you can tell it will be an injury. All of his speed comes from arm. No lower body usage in his speed, watch how he loses balances after those fastballs, especially ones like at 0:16. Spins around almost falling over cause all the force was up top. 2. What the person you replied to is referring to is he is gassing himself. Watch the drop in speed in the fastballs. It’s not sustainable the way he is overexerting himself every pitch. 3. theatlas.com/charts/S1-DccGC Average in about ‘16 was 92mph. Fluctuates slightly above that more recently.
Off the bat he tips his pitches. Slider has ok movement nothing late with bite, change up is nice. If he works on his tipping he should have a good career.
6'3" /210lbs is a nice height kid will be able to go where ever he wants and have a chance at the show! Nice fast ball! Couldn't really see movement on it but nice speed, he keeps change up down in the zone and slider looks really good (nice movement) also keeps it down in the zone!
Not to mention he has a huge ball from glove separation on his fast ball and then nothin on his off speed that and the fact he is throwing all out on his fast ball and slowing everything down on his change up is a recipe for disaster against MLB quality hitters. His best fastball was the one that was his last one he hit his spot low and away at 91
Yeah his mechanics might be a little bit of a tell. That's all easily fixed by a good pitching coach. What you should be looking at is consistency in the zone with each pitch. Constancy with speed and movement of each pitch. His mechanics can be worked on, there is a lot more here to pay attention to. The fact he hit 96 (once but still). Makes me believe that with a good pitching coach that 1 time 96 becomes a consistent 96 or even constant 97-98.
As a hitter I would notice right away that on his fastball he double pumps. He comes out his glove and back in while in his motion. When he throws his slider he stays in his glove and his change-up he's super fast with his delivery. Hopefully he's just tipping his pitches cuz hes throwing bullpen. If not, they will be all over him if they can pick up on these tell tale signs in game.
I realize this is a bull pen session but coaches need to also focus on drills that emphasize defensive reaction speed as come backers of a bat at that speed can create fat more damage than the torque on the knee after release.
I'm no expert BUT his glove is so high when throwing fastball but below the belt when throwing sliders AND at around above the belt when throwing the change-up. The slower arm speed when throwing the change up too but the glove is much more alarming, nice change-up drop too in my opinion.
If you're actually throwing in the 80s as a freshman in highschool you should really think about making baseball your main goal in life, if you haven't already. What are you throwing now as a sophomore?
Anyone notice how it’s easy to realize which pitch he’s about to throw? He has a fast wind up and release for fast ball his slider is a more down movement and slower and his change up so slow that he’s gonna be read like a book
His glove is different type of way when he throws a ball. Any good batter can know what coming. Hes got MLB potential, but he needs to adjust. Example; Fastball: Glove in middle of stomach. Slider: Glove on his waist. Change up: Same like slider but out a little more. Its just a good batter can know whats coming, if he can adjust that to what looks like a fastball, he can do really good.
He separates the ball from glove on his fastball quite a bit and barely if even separates at all on his slider and change. Just something I noticed idk
Yeah ur right and his arm speed is def different when he throws his fastball compared to his off speed pitches. A guy throwing 96 should be throwing a harder slider than 81. Reason that is happening from what I am seeing is that his arm speed is slower on his off speed.
How would a batter see the ball coming out the glove if all they can see is the front of the glove I only think it matters if a fast runner is on second and might try to steel third
He delivers his pitches in different forms so it’s predictable what pitch he’ll throw but he could be a decent closer. I don’t know much about him but that fastball slider combo looks deadly
Why is everyone in this comment section hell bent on hating this kid. I dont give a fuck if hes tipping his pitchers, you can fix that easily. What pretty much no one can do easily is throw 90+ in high school.
Very raw still watch how he grips ball against leg for slider arm speed way different between fast ball and off speed not a man yet still needs fine tuning
His fastball stance is fast His slider stance is a bit more slower then his fastball stance and his change up stance is way different then the fastaball and slide stance.
No they are not. I’ve played with the guy. He went to Texas Tech for a year then left to go juco to build his velo back up. The gun is correct, if not lower than what it actually is.
Dudes in the comments saying “he’s so predictable tho” lol bro, 96 is still 96, still fast even when you know it’s coming 😂trust me. I mean a great batter can get a hand on it but if you aren’t the best batter, that 96 is sending you back to the dugout Cuzzo 😅.
he’s just trying to throw harder so he’s getting a little bit of rhythm, in game he probably throws 89-92, but he’s trying to throw his hardest right now
I’d be more concerned about his arm speed. It’s def different when you compare the fastball with his change up and slider. But this is still a very young player he can def improve that.
He needs work. He needs to keep his stance consistent and add more velocity and movement to his fastball. At his age, with the right coaching, we may see him in the majors someday.

His high leg delivery gives way his pitches. ESPECIALLY his change up.
He doesn't thrust it out as aggressively as his fastball.

What’s up with the “whaaattttt!” After every pitch?
His stuff is nasty, having said that he’s tippin his pitches. Easy fix with a good coach moving forward. Bright future for sure.

I think his max speed was around 88-89 mph.

All true. Doesnt mean the raw potential isnt there. A good coach should be able to correct everything here.

No glove tap = off speed
Lol bro that slider was dirty fr. 😂 the movement is crazy
Tips his pitches. Comes set into 2 different heights with his glove before delivery. Jusr below the numbers, fastball. Belly button level, offspeed.
