I don't coach basketball, but I've coached some soccer, and there are girls out there that have instinctive athleticism and physical gifts who just will not listen to you and will not change their play because what they have works for them and they are too into themselves to think they need to change. Because her mechanics are so bad she reminds me of some of the young strikers I've coached who hit a plateau and just don't improve because they won't learn. How does she go through college and not be able to do a layup if she could in fact be taught to do a layup?

Changing the subject to the Fever, what do you think of this hypothetical trade, Smith to Minnesota for Dorka Juhasz, who has fallen out of the Lynx rotation with the acquisition of Hines-Allen? For Smith, Fever could get Juhasz and perhaps a draft pick? Juhasz is a 6-5 second year player from UConn who can stretch the floor, pass, cut and play defense. She was on the All-Rookie Team last season.
Totally agree about Dorka, she started most of last year and is now relagated to the bench due to the addition of Alana Smith (who started throughout the year in Dorka's spot) and now Hines-Allen is first off the bench. She was out injured recently (in a boot for an ankle injury) and hasn't had decent minutes since. She has a lot of potential, played well in Europe this past season, and I think could be an excellent addition to Indiana. I think she could run the field with Clark & Smith. I don't know what Reeve would do with Nalyssa Smith though. Personally not a big fan of Alana Smith, she's very hit or miss in my opinion. Last game against the Sun for example, more miss than hit. I know one thing for sure - Reeve will NOT take Reese!

I thought so too. I was troubled all season by the Fever's ineffectiveness on the offensive boards. They turn and run as soon as the ball goes up. They don't seem to know how to block out. A missed shot by the Fever is no different than a turnover, and they miss a lot of shots.

Players CAN improve dramatically in 1 off season. Donovan Mitchell and Kawhi Leonard are great examples of that. The reason it usually takes 5 years is because players are stubborn. They aren't used to being bad at things because they were the bes5 of the best at every level. Usually, they waste their 1st and 2nd off seasons working on things they shouldn't. Layups as an example for Reese. If she put up 1000 3pt shots 5 days a week. She will be a 30 something % 3pt shooter on 5 attempts a game.
These wnba players coming out of college are old already, cant compare to young dudes coming out 19 first of. Second, she will have to do major overhaul on her shot mechanics, so it would take a few seasons to develop. She would also have to sacrifice all her other endeavors outside of basketball. Changing the subject to the Fever, what do you think of this hypothetical trade, Smith to Minnesota for Dorka Juhasz, who has fallen out of the Lynx rotation with the acquisition of Hines-Allen? For Smith, Fever could get Juhasz and perhaps a draft pick? Juhasz is a 6-5 second year player from UConn who can stretch the floor, pass, cut and play defense. She was on the All-Rookie Team last season.
Totally agree about Dorka, she started most of last year and is now relagated to the bench due to the addition of Alana Smith (who started throughout the year in Dorka's spot) and now Hines-Allen is first off the bench. She was out injured recently (in a boot for an ankle injury) and hasn't had decent minutes since. She has a lot of potential, played well in Europe this past season, and I think could be an excellent addition to Indiana. I think she could run the field with Clark & Smith. I don't know what Reeve would do with Nalyssa Smith though. Personally not a big fan of Alana Smith, she's very hit or miss in my opinion. Last game against the Sun for example, more miss than hit. I know one thing for sure - Reeve will NOT take Reese!

Players CAN improve dramatically in 1 off season. Donovan Mitchell and Kawhi Leonard are great examples of that. The reason it usually takes 5 years is because players are stubborn. They aren't used to being bad at things because they were the bes5 of the best at every level. Usually, they waste their 1st and 2nd off seasons working on things they shouldn't. Layups as an example for Reese. If she put up 1000 3pt shots 5 days a week. She will be a 30 something % 3pt shooter on 5 attempts a game.
These wnba players coming out of college are old already, cant compare to young dudes coming out 19 first of. Second, she will have to do major overhaul on her shot mechanics, so it would take a few seasons to develop. She would also have to sacrifice all her other endeavors outside of basketball.
