Im running a 4900 because waiting on parts for my kw. The 4900 is nice, its a 22 model. But, i run that all day and even with the air ride ya get sore. Plus the cabs just enormous. I get back in my t800, thats an old school springride truck with a cat, and it feels like home. Narrow cab, million mile seat, worn shifter. Its just home.
Western Stars were built in Kelowna at one time. Had friends who worked in the factory. Hauled many of loads of logs in 3 different Western Stars. They were a great truck but my favorite will always be Peterbilt. 425 Cat engine with a retarder. Cheers guys love the show.
What’s going on guys, nice new toy. Hopefully it works well for you guys and makes you money, but I am old school and I love the KWs trucks, sorry, that’s what I have. Stay safe out there my friend and keep the videos coming, catch you on the next one.
The top level log truck drivers decades in the past drove Pacifics and Hayes too. I see the Canadian Army is ordering 1500 trucks based on the Mercedes Benz Zetros range. Mercedes Benz trucks and Western Star are both owned by Daimler Truck AG.
My dad only had stars but the new ones I’m not fan of like the 4900s inside was so nice the new ones ya way to much plastic . Love that c500 nicest c500 I’ve ever seen
The new western stars are nice, but its like comparing a Cascadia to a W900. At least compare an original Western Star. Its kinda depressing what Daimler has done to the brand. They should have just put it to rest under Freightliner. Western Star would have ended off great with the constellation cab...
Paccar is KW or Pete…either a Cummins or Detroit in the Star Car. He said the Star had the exact same running gear as the Kenworth, so I’m assuming that he was able to order it with a Cummins
Bet the cab gets awful noisy with all the plastic pretty quick. Aside from that it’s like you said its heart is the same as the rest so if it does the job and puts money in the bank it’s hard to complain. Might be all you can get pretty soon with Pete and kenworth limiting manual transmission production. /westernstar has so bloody many automatics they can offset the sales somewhat and still offer a manual without to much trouble it seems.
Its not western star. Its now known as Westernliner. Change hoods. Change trucks. Lol. Hope it works out for you let us know please. Are they still actual western star quality
@@TheOriginalTreehuggers I understand all the plastics and such. I currently run a 2015 pete. Think i wont like anything newer. Less expensive is also less quality. I get the industry is not what it was before and costs need to be cut. Float truck???? Ouch. Ran float and had a KW for a reason. Again Hope it holds up. Want to see future videos. I miss float from time to time. Just needs to be the right equipment.
previous generation stars right up there quite comparable to previous generation kw . if the logger specs. are still the same i would say the bones of the trucks are still the same but your quality of fit and finnish on both trucks are not logger tough
I never comment on YT but you deserve to know that’s the most badass C500 I’ve ever seen. Would love a vid on it.
You will be seeing that in the near future.

Those Peterbilts are beauties too. Brent's got one
That c500 kenworth is definitely a nice ride you do see alot of kenworth trucks in the bush
They take the beating, no doubt
Western star. My dad used to own an ‘04 4900 EX short logger with triaxle wagon
Post some pics!
That video was flippin awesome 🤘😁
Right on! Thanks for watching
Whattya think about the new truck? Or do you prefer the old trucks? Western Star or Kenworth??
KW for Life
Western Stars are great trucks🤙🏼
Kenworth
My favorite episode obviously cause im a Western Star guy😂

You too - thanks for supporting us here
Is this in Merritt B.C? Or somewhere close, if so, I grew up in Westbank B.C., Nice trucks
Kenworth all the way the Western Stars look like your sitting up in a light house going down the road lol
Hahaha...definitely not as mean looking

Unfortunately, not much is Canadian-made these day.
Can you do a walk around of your black truck please
Unfortunately the brightest thing on these new trucks is the CHECK ENGINE light … Hope it works well for you!
HAHAHA...lol
My dad only had stars but the new ones I’m not fan of like the 4900s inside was so nice the new ones ya way to much plastic . Love that c500 nicest c500 I’ve ever seen
Wait until we show you the inside of it

Hard to compare what he doesn't own to what he does.
No truck will ever look as good as a W9 or c500.
Agreed
That C500 is one bad mofo!!!
Make sure to subscribe b/c we got an episode coming soon where Craig shows you the C5 inside and out
@@TheOriginalTreehuggersI’m subscribed baby! Ready, willing, & able
So did it have a Detroit or paccar engine?
Cummins X15

The new stars are nice and all but I find the cabs look like Cascadia
Sweet looken Ride congrades
Cheers!
Very nice collection man..money makers ..peace
They certainly put a smile on Craig!
Order an endless supply of leaf spring center bolts. They break veryyyyy often in the bush. Some times twice a day. Weakest link on those trucks
I'll pass that on to Brad
What happened to truck #124?
That's the W9L being rebuilt after 600k
c500 waaaay better 🥰
you guys got it fixed
funniest video yet 😂
Thanks - unless you know something I don't, the C500 is running just fine!
@ oh i thought i was in accident guess few years ago now?
saw on another video on UA-cam in a yard down south all smashed up
My word make up your mind with censoring the swearing lol
I did make up my mind and you watched what I decided. lol
It’s sad to see what a western star has become. They’re like a Volvo now.
Definitely not the same trucks as they were

If the govt has their way, we won't be getting anything BUT automatics
Its not western star. Its now known as Westernliner. Change hoods. Change trucks. Lol. Hope it works out for you let us know please. Are they still actual western star quality
We will find out. Gary is driving it now.

Western Star is Nice truck , but my first CHOICE is Kenworth #118 & 124
