Same thing pretty much has happened here in Manitoba with when to send fire crews out. Complete change in policy from about 15 years earlier, before then my Dad used to run fire line dozers he was well respected and called on in our area because of his knowledge with wildland fires. Back then crew's would always stage and get ready during the day but would pretty much only start punching in dozer breaks once evening came then run hard all night till morning once the temps started to rise and the dew came off, THEN they pulled back not dicking around in the middle of the day like what's being done now. Now they wait around two days before really getting after it but by then it's turned into a raging monster. Here what happened is WCB (worker's comp) got involved and said no more people out in the bush after dark to much risk to human life but fact is putting people on fire lines is way more dangerous in the middle of the day, they the WCB don't see it that way though. After my Dad was past retirement age he said he never seen such a shit show in how things are done now, my local small town has almost burnt down three times since this policy change. Another reason that no one will talk about or is allowed to openly anyways is purposely letting wildland fires get so big or to burn up so much land is to push the climate change angle. If government can claim that more and bigger fires are getting worse then it feed's into the whole climate change narrative doesn't it; then again maybe that's giving them to much credit they can't manage or come up with simple policy so that would be a stretch for them.

We're a small channel just starting out, but our videos typically get 1k a day for a week or so. Our vids about wildfires haven't even gotten 1k views in over a week. It's not hard to figure out that we're being lied to and anyone speaking the truth, is being silenced. We're being played.

We’re seeing kind of the same thing here in Saskatchewan. I know some guys that have run cats on the fire line for years. Up till about 10 years ago maybe a little less they’d work dang near half the night and most of the morning putting in fire breaks. Few years back a new gov agency took over and now it’s all day time work. Even when it’s somewhat calm they’re turning the guys around and saying nope can’t go today meanwhile the fires taking off in a new direction. There’s still good guys even within this new agency with years of experience im just not sure they’re allowed to do and say what they want anymore though. Another thing it seems like they don’t sctually put a fire out anymore either. Have seen a few times now where it’s been listed as contained. Get a rainy stretch where it could be extinguished but nope. They a week later it flares up and another 100,000 ha. Burn

This kind of policy started happening 25 or more years ago. My Dad, who spent 45 years running a cat in the bush in the Kootenays was on a fire the summer before he retired. He could not fathom the thinking of the bosses. There were 4 or 5 pieces of equipment trucked up to the landing and parked on "standby" doing nothing when they could have built a guard around the fire before it got going. His machine was the only one employed building a guard around the leading edge of the fire when a horn blasted through the bush. He paid no attention and continued building guard as he had less than an hour's work left to close it up. He was flagged down by one of the "experts" and told that it was quitting time and that he had to stop. He explained to the guy that the guard was almost closed up and that he would finish it before going home. He was unceremoniously told to walk the cat out and finish in the morning. The next morning the fire had burned through the gap in the guard and continued to burn beautiful timber for another week. The gap in the guard was the only place that the fire breached. Now this was in an isolated valley about a half hour's drive from any houses but if it was in an inhabited area this kind of decision could easily caused homes to be lost. Keep up the good work letting people know about the BS policies of the wildfire service.

@@TheOriginalTreehuggers I wonder if there is any info available on how many fires that are classified as being "monitored" that break out and burn people's homes and livelihoods. Back in the 60's and 70's it seems that after every thunderstorm planes would be flying the next day. Any wisp of smoke was immediately bombed and put out. These fires did not burn homes. Check historical records and I think you will see that very few homes burnt in those times. I understand that fire is good for ecosystems but prescribed burns at times where the fires can be controlled have to be better than burning homes. I wonder if this might be something that some investigative journalist would be interested in? I am sure that if asked, the "experts" will blame all of this on climate change which may be part of the problem but I think if you put out fires before they become uncontrollable you stand a much better chance of protecting properties.

Invest in local structural protection equipment to roll out from the lake up to where it is needed. Saw this infrastructure ready to set up in New Denver. Get a bulk deal on low pressure roof sprinklers for locals .
