I love making homemade biscuits! When my daughter was small, she always loved eating the butter and the flour even before the biscuits were cooked. But the very last biscuit, I didn’t cut it with the biscuit cutter, was formed by hand into the “ugly biscuit“ and my daughter always loved to eat the “ugly biscuit“ as it always had some extra crispy points on it. And it was a special biscuit 😉 Thanks for the wonderful memory! 😊

Kevin, I lived in Atlanta for many years all my relatives are from there but I spent 27 in Florida. You will enjoy my grandma’s recipe.
1 cup of full fat butter milk
    1/3 cup of mayonnaise
2 cups Gold Medal Self-Rise flour
Blend mayonnaise in buttermilk throughly. Pour into flour. It will be a very think wet batter. Put 1 cup of the self rise flour in a 2 “ deep brownie pan then dump the dough in there and flow over letting the flour coat the batter, and fold about 6-8 times until you can mash it to 1 1/2” thick. Then cut out your biscuits and bake them in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes until light golden brown brushing them liberally with melted butter. (You will never know there is Mayo in the recipe. For a more tangy biscuit, Dukes Mayo is marvelous.
    YOU’RE WELCOME!

How different today's flower arrangement, not of your usually close-clustered comfortable crowd of blossoms; but rather, a loose & airy pinning of petaled stalks that cleanly separates off each flower -even of those identical- from the other, highlighting [ their ] pure individuality. / Happy days of hours & always best of health. // D.C

I don't make or eat biscuits often but after watching your show yesterday I just had to try the recipe!! I cut it in half because there is just myself and my two cats, Big Guy and Little Man. I didn't have coconut oil so I had to use butter. But with out a doubt they were the lightest, most tender biscuits I ever made, let alone ever ate. Hi Kevin, I live in Oregon. We have Hood strawberries here. They are tiny, sweet & expensive. The grocery stores here do not carry them. Our grocery stores only carry the giant beautiful yet flavorless California strawberries. I don't use pectin to make strawberry jam. I cook equal parts strawberries & sugar with a splash of lemon juice. I'm allergic to fresh fruits and vegetables but can eat them cooked or canned. That's why I cook my strawberries. You gave me a good idea though. Next time I make jam I will put them through the blender first. That way I won't have to mash them. Thank You, and as usual, I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Keep them coming, Hope you have a wonderful summer. Chin Chin

Love your show Kevin, love making any kind of jam or jelly here, from dandelion to strawberry they are all good! Nice to see your "clutch your pearls" moment, so many people panic over the amount of sugar used in jam making but they never seem to realize your not eating a cup of jam with each serving, actual portion size the sugar is quite low!
I'd like to see your take on making bannock or fry bread when your serving your jam, a traditional first nations "bread" that has an incredible flavor and elevates the flavor of jams and jellies too!

Sundays at Kevin's house. Having my coffee while visiting. Beautiful produce at the farm store, and fun to see Harry the greeter dog at work. I love the bouquet you created. Maybe you can use the Veronica flower in a Forth of July bouquet, kind of looks like a firework. Lovely summer bouquet. The strawberry jam looks delicious with the creme fraiche and biscuits. Orange spice tea seems like the perfect accompanying beverage. Kevin, I reached for my pearls, but forgot to put them on yet today. I have made apple jam before, with sliver chunks of apple in it. But I processed it in hot water. Fun, but a project. I will have to try making strawberry freezer jam. It's definitely strawberry season right now around here. The fresh summer strawberries taste wonderful! Blueberries start in early to mid July. I have a friend who grows blueberries and will probably go and spend part of a day picking blueberries. Actually a relaxing activity, but I end up munching on blueberries while picking them. Anyway, thank you for the video. Enjoy your Sunday and see you next time.♥️💐🌸💮🍓🍰🫖🫐🌼🐕

The countryside in your area is so beautiful. You may want to try making biscuits with heavy whipping cream. When I am in a hurry for biscuits, I use only two ingredients-White Lily self-rising flour and heavy whipping cream-I just pour the heavy whipping cream into the flour a little bit at a time until I get the right consistency; then, proceed as with any other biscuit recipe. These biscuits turn out perfect every time!!! I usually use two cups of flour and about a cup of heavy whipping cream-this is a very easy amount to work with.

Everything looks delicious! Yes, we get local strawberries here near Utica, NY...not far from you! The flower arrangement is so pretty. I love alstoemeria...they smell luscious!

It's been so long since I made jam with sugar, I'd forgotten how much sugar goes into it. I use Pamona pectin. Since I don't use sugar, the jam isn't as loose as those with added sugar. For a bit of sweetness, I add a bit of monkfruit sweetener. Mine isn't as sweet as regular jam, but very tasty and much healthier. I eat mine for breakfast daily, so I need a jam that's less of a treat food.

Hi Kevin. I’m one of your U.K. fans. As I am sure you’re aware what we call biscuits you call cookies. Your biscuits look slightly different from what we call scones and also we wouldn’t break I piece of our half scone but would add cream and jam to the whole half. I’m actually really excited to give your recipe a go so that I can see what your biscuits taste like. I may also try making some of your strawberry jam too, it is strawberry season over here too. Many thanks for another wonderful video, I really enjoy watching what you get up to each week xx

Reminds me I need to make my freezer strawberry-rhubarb jam. I never use pectin anymore. It's expensive and doesn't always work, so I just cook it longer. 🥰

What a wonderful video for a warm Sunday morning, with a slight breeze, here in S.E. Wisconsin!
I love the flowers and looked them up. I thought you said Blue Pluram, but finally found it under Bupleurum. A wonderful leafy long stemmed flower that works wonderfully as a flower/greenery! The white one looks like Queen Anne's lace, but the blossoms are larger? I know that they wouldn't sell Hemlock as it's highly poisonous! Maybe it's a type of Agapanthus?
The green stem looks like yellow and green Hosta leaf, but I don't think it is. Any gardeners out there with answers? I love the Hosta like greenery.
