Awara is a Raj Kapoor classic that is set on the backgrounds of good vs the bad. Judge Raghunath convicts Jagga, a man whose father was a criminal, for rape on trivial evidence. In order to prove that there is no evidence that criminals are born to criminals, Jagga kidnaps Judge Raghunath's wife. He lets her go after four days but Raghunath does not accept her pregnant wife. She gives birth to a son named as Raj who is trained to be a thief by Jagga. Meanwhile he is also kept away from his childhood love Rita. Will Raj ever com to know that Judge Raghunath is his father?

Raj Kapoor (1924-1988) at his best. Nargis (1929-1981) & K.N Singh (1908-2000) complete Awara perfectly!!!! The supporting cast is alright too- father Prithviraj Kapoor as Judge Raghunath, Leela Chitnis as the long suffering mother (she does get vindicated) & even Grandpa as the Judge!!!! Another favorite of mine from Raj Kapoor would be his magnum opus (his autobiography) Mera Naam Joker (1970) which received flak in the beginning- but 50 years into the future it gets the praise & kudos it richly deserves!!!! Long live the legacy of Ranbir Raj Kapoor (1924-1988).

I am 86 to day I have enjoyed as if I'm 8 years old
I have only seen a handful of Hindi films in my life, having been brought up in the UK of Bengali parentage. I cannot understand Hindi and I have never before listened to Hindi songs. I decided to watch this famous film which I read was very popular overseas), especially the song Awaara Hoon, after listening to the full version of Mera Juta hai Japani for the first time recently and watching Shree 420. However, although people talk of Awaara Hoon, the most memorable part of this film, for me, was the song 'Dum Bhar Jo Udhoy Munh Phere' at around 1hr 25 min. Even though I am not fond of the Hindi language, I was struck by the beauty of this song. I recall hearing a bit of it on a UK TV documentary about Bollywood history in the 1980s - but I could only remember the words 'O Chanda' - and, at the time, hearing a bit of it, I did not realise what a masterpiece it is. I have got to say it is one of the best songs I have ever heard.

The movie is based on reality of human world where we bound with our society and do the things in barreier. Why always sita gave agnipariksha and why guys don't do this. Raj kapoor was the person who thinks beyond the world. It is not necessary that the thieve's son always becoma a thief or a king's son always become h king and honest person.
Nowadays people are selfish and do work for thereselves, fulfill only self needs. If the society put a person to blunder and humiliate them they become a voice of bad deeds. This is why each and every of us have to aware that be kind and helpful for others always return to us as good deeds .
At the last i would like to add that we all are humans and all should aware to protect others rights and save our environment and world.
We must not compare the RajKapoor and Dillip kumar,both were great actors but I like RajKapoor .
