@@wishwise0 ty you as well brother. I ended up serving as a flight medic in Central America for a couple years so much respect! You all have a very cool job but shit ton of responsibility as well! All I had to do then was polish bifowlers (whatever those damn things are called between the blades) and calculating fuel burn rates. After that tour I ended up right back in Iraq with the Infantry lol. You ever been down to Honduras?

@@johnraygun9868 Not at all. Was a powertrain mechanic specifically, in a Chinook unit out of Ft. Lewis. Most of my time was helping the 68U/15U (for some reason they moved mechanics to combat MOS - 15D was my new MOS) as well as replacing oil seals and refilling oil on the vertical pin tanks. Only deployments were a 'year' (prepare and cooldown included) in Iraq as well as a quick reaction to Rita/Katrina. Flight medic is an incredibly demanding, very necessary, and valuable role to fill. In Iraq we generally had Navy corpsmen on board. Once again, huge props to you ;)

I am a army veteran and I suffer from major depression disorder, ptsd, and anxiety. And thank you. These topics of this video is so true. After leaving the military, you do question your service and do feel discarded. Ptsd is serious and it got to a point where i was getting paranoid about being out in the public. Even more sad is the statistics are eight years old and things have only gotten worse. For example the video says One veteran suicide every two hours which is 12 per day. I am not American but I found this song and the words really moving, I had tears running down my cheeks. I am British and proud of it, I give money to a military charity that looks after our British military veterans. In the UK our military is the most important citizens in the UK and loved, respected by the citizens of the UK. Our military in the UK is very important to us and they are looked up to as our heroes. Our beloved military dead are always remembered as national heroes. I feel for American Veterans who are treated like unwanted migrants and who have fought and suffered dearly for their country, but are forgotten by your government and local government. It makes me laugh when I hear America is the greatest country in the world, land of the free and home of the brave. All Americans should watch that video, listen to the song and read those heartbreaking words, yes America is a home for the brave but unfortunately the brave live on the streets forgotten about by the government and the majority of American society. 💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦😢😭

I have almost become one of those 22 a day several times. Have lost several friends to their PTSD demons. I am doing better now, but I still have my moments. It's a daily fight. I was medically discharged after 18 years in the Navy. Had a severe injury to both feet. Two bones totally crushed in both feet. Multiple surgeries and screws in each foot. Only got a 60% disability. Some days it hurts just to walk to the mailbox. Don't be afraid to ask for help if the VA turns you down. Contact one of the organizations shown at the end of this video. Call and talk to someone. Even if they don't have the answers but are willing to listen, that alone can help a lot. USN Ret.

But when you have documentaries that showcase that actual facts and then bands like this who support us greatly then you get a real live action as you can see. I know Toby Keith also has done some songs in tribute to is and his father. Thank you for reacting to this, it means a lot to me that you are helping spread awareness to the love of a Veteran and what we go through before, during and after. I would suggest if you want more stories, got to your local VA or VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars). Here you will get all sorts of story. But please allow the Veteran just to tell their story if they are willing and try not to be judgemental.

This song/Video is so on point...I've been there... serving my country and my fellow man for 5 years. and at one time being homeless...the VA pulled me back to normal life...always look to the VA...they have always been there for me and they have programs and dedicated workers who can help us see it throough

If you want another "military" song/video to react to for the upcoming Veteran's Day, try "Gone Away" by Five Finger Death Punch. It is a cover of an Offspring song but repackaged to show what is called Survivor's Guilt which many civilians are completely unaware that many veterans suffer from. Survivor's Guilt is also prevalent in our medical community right now after watching the impact on COVID on our citizens.

My late father served in Korea, my older brother was in Desert Storm & the Gulf War...my brother two years younger was in the hospital where the prisoners who were captured in the last year of President Carter's term were sent to get physical and emotional help from their captive days. He actually worked in the ward set up to house them...and he he worked with quite a few of them.
Thanks for sharing this song...you never know who saw this video, and maybe called one of these groups to get help! God Bless the two of you!!

22 a day is not ok.
As a va nurse I understood the importance of providing mental health in a sneaky way because these veterans are so toughened and see asking for help as a weakness. I feel the people around them should always look for signs and say there aren't any signs because they're so tightly buttoned up. Just check in I have found that high adrenaline activities help like sky diving, competitive games like racing in go carts.
Also a simple text or phone call goes a long way

Cool that you all reacted to this video. As a vet of 20 years, it is weird to see civilians react to this song. In the end you did right you were cool.... Truth be told and 2 steps from being on the streets/homeless and it is a lot tied to my 20 years of duty, of my job... LOVE your channel and vibe.... You all are good people, don't ever lose sight of that

I'm a huge fan of both the veterans and 5FDP. I dont watch much in the way of music videos and have never seen this one before. It certainly puts the song in a whole new light. I quit smoking almost a month ago and I've decided just now I'm going to donate the $280 I've saved from not buying cigarettes to the Veterans of America fund, in memory of my father, Master Sergeant Harold E. Kirby.
Thank you, each and everyone of you, for your service and sacrifice ❤️

That, that literally teared me up. Too many times there are words without deeds on the internet. Hell, I'd settle for getting a smile, a nod, a handshake something to not feel so ignored and forgotten. Actually donating to help my brothers and sisters, tears, tears and yeah maybe choked up. Thank you.

I had a best friend serve in Iraq and he explained to me what he did over there and it wasn't good and he was really struggling when he came home with what he had to do over there. He tried to get help but of course our country turned its back on him and he ended up committing suicide because he couldn't deal with the guilt of killing innocent kids/ adults that he was ordered to kill. I tried so hard to be a good friend to him and help him threw it but it wasn't enough. This goverment needs to step up and help ppl that served for this country
