I love Warren Zevon beyond reason, but I don’t know anyone else IRL who does. His beautiful melancholy speaks to me. Even his “Hmmmm” tugs at my heart. And the “Look away,” well that just knocks me out. RIP Warren. 💔
Warren zevon had such a brilliant mind for music. He always compared compared himself with Bruce springsteen, which is sad cause he never felt good enough. But..he was
You really aren't alone. I've been a fan from the first drop of the needle on Exitable Boy. HIs self titled album is great as well. Our son is also a big fan. At my 70th birthday party last year, my son made a playlist catered to me. When Lawyers Guns & Money started playing, Me, my wife, son and 18 year old grandson belted out the song along with Warren. We are making sure that people don't forget about this great artist
This was his first major label album and his best album. Most of it details the underside of life in LA for the young hipsters of that day. It's not cheery stuff, but it's brilliant. The best track is The French Inhaler, but so many great ones -- Poor Poor Pitiful Me (hilarious), Mohammed's Radio, Carmelita, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead. I love that you picked up on how evocative that instrumental was at the end. That's what I've always said. Without words, that music puts you right in the chair next to him at the Hollywood Hawaiian Hotel.
Before I was an addict, I thought I understood Warren's music. When I became an addict I understood it for real. He has helped me in recovery so much. Thanks for sharing.

@@billbitterman9487 That is awesome. Most people I know are just meh about him, but he grabs me by the heart.
A Legend who will never be forgotten.
