  • In this video I visit the Mojave Desert and experience some extreme winds on this overnight landscape photography trip. The badlands are such a beautiful place, and I was able to use my wide angle lens to capture some amazing images of this harsh place.

Such Landscapes when remote & 'dead silent' are beautiful but be prepared for safety issues..bring water & food / clothing & comms.
    Happy 📷

Great video and great edits of your pics. I think its your best one yet. I loved the time lapse with the city lights. And thanks for telling us where you were, i can't stand when photographers don't say where they are.

That is quite an epic location! It is really neat to see how far everything can look when out in the desert. The photos at the end came out great!

Nice and useful description for using wide angles for epic vistas against conventional ideas. Thanks for much to think about.

Wow, what a fantastic spot and you got some awesome shots. Glad you went wide, that landscape deserved it, complemented with great light too. Love videos like this.

Absolutely gorgeous photos, Mike, well done! I bought some memory foam rolls from Walmart, and stack some of them when I sleep in the back of my Jeep; much easier and much more comfortable then an air mattress. Back at home, you simply roll them up again to store them.

Mike, you take such awesome photos. Maybe someday I can get to your level. Have you ever considered a trip to the Martian Landscape near Hanksville, Utah. I went there last year and got some wonderful drone video footage and photos. I would love to see what you could capture there Take care, Nyall. By the way, your videos inspire me to go out more. Tucson monsoons is my next trip, I hope.

Great location, I agree with your thoughts on the wind and conditions. Not sure when you were at this location, but last week I was in the Bisti. Gusts were at least 50 mph over two days along NM371, and the Rez at the Valley of Dreams. Your Vlog on the Bisti really came in handy.

    Great Video Mike...as always.
I have visited there (Font's Point, Anza Borrego) a few times and can see how finding compositions
can be challenging since it's all just an amazing view....I didn't have my DSLR but my GoPro videos came out nice with the wide angles.
I plan on returning to Font's point, or Vista Del Malpias when it cools down in the fall to try to shoot a moonrise over the badlands - on a previous visit I noticed the full moon reflects off of the Salton Sea during the beginning of the rise over the Arizona Mountains....I'm also wondering what the moonlight from a high full moon might look like reflecting off the mountains to the North of Font's point...or a milky way shot above those same Northern Mtns.
Thanks for sharing your time and knowledge with us....

Thanks John! Yes a full moon over that landscape would be pretty amazing. Next time I’ll have to explore more of the Salton Sea as well!

The thing with having a telephoto lens with you is you always want to use it 🤔, you captured some great wide angle compositions 👍😎 we don't need no stinking telephoto 🤣🤣🤣

    • @PereaPhotography
      @PereaPhotography  2 роки тому

Haha nope the wide angle did just fine! Stinkin telephoto lens shoulda stayed home where it belongs 😜

Mike I have been to Font's Point several times in the past and took some photos with some good point and shot cameras, but nothing comparable to your photos. Absolutely stunning. I just purchased a new Z7II like yours, so hoping for better results. I was interested in your settings, for my own information, why do you use 64 ISO, what does that do? Thank you and love your photos.

Amazing location, just don't get that scenery in the UK. I liked the close shot looking into the Canyon?, it looked like a small river meandering through.

Great photos. How was the road going out there? I have yet to try it because I know that there can be soft sand along the way. I have an AWD Honda Passport with 8.1 inches ground clearance. Thanks!

Mojave Desert? If you were where I think you were (Borrego Badlands/ Fonts) that would be the Sonoran/Colorado Desert
