- Heres a Care Guide for the fresh water tiger moray eel. Im basing the information on the experience Ive had so far with my tiger moray eel. Im in no way an expert, I'm simply sharing what worked for me.

My eel has been living great for a couple months & out of nowhere he’s doing bad. Is there something I’m suppose to do with the water for them ?
That depends on what kind of eel you have. Most moray eel species are either saltwater or brackish so it may need some salt in the tank. If it’s a tiger moray like in my video, freshwater is fine but you need to do regular maintenance like water changes

I saw a UA-cam video saying we shouldn't touch the eel it's poisonous. Is it true? I have two eels, they are quite friendly they hang around my hand so i pet them.
It depends on which type of eel you have, there are some moray eels that are definitely venomous however after doing some research i found out that this particular eel (tiger moray) is not venomous or if it is it has a very weak venom. What kind of eel do you have?
if the eel is the only fish i have in the aquarium would a 30 gallon tank be okay? because some say 30 gallons some say 120 gallons
It's a bit tricky, they pretty much stay in their cave majority of the time so technically a 30 gallon should be fine especially for the first few years. I've had mine for over a year now and she hasn't grown much so it looks like they are slow growers. However they do grow big so eventually I'm guessing a 30 gallon might not be enough. What's the biggest tank you're willing to get?
What tank size do you need for the eel
Depends on the age, with a baby you should be fine with a 200L, might want to upgrade when they get older but that all depends on how fast it grows etc. I’ve had mine for nearly a year and the growth has been minimal lol
How long can you keep it in fresh water before it has to go to brackish water
Well most sources online say that they live in freshwater most of their life and then move to brackish waters when they reach maturity however they’ve also seen tiger morays live their entire life in fresh water (in the wild) so you may not need to switch it over. That’s only for tiger morays though, most other morays will definitely be moved to a brackish tank after a few years. Hope that helped !

Hi, I was thinking about getting one of these tiger moray eels in a bit. Do you think a 110 gallon aquarium will do? Also what's the most common reason that they would pass away? Lastly do you recommend keeping this species?
Hi, if you're getting a baby/juvenile and let it grow out you should be fine with a 110 gallon for a while depending on how many other fish you have in there.
When it comes to the most likely reason for them to pass I don't know the answer to that sorry but I'd assume it would come down to water quality or them jumping out of tanks. Its vital that you have a tight fitting lid when keeping an eel. They also get stressed easily so it might be difficult to feed them at the start.
If you've kept fish for a while and you have a mature tank with basic understanding on how to look after an oddball fish then I would highly recommend the fresh water moray. They are incredible! Hope that helped

How does ur tiger moray eel do with ur rainbows and ghost knife fish
So far she hasn’t touched any of them, the ghost knife and moray share caves sometimes and she ignores the rainbows. However I do have to mention that mine is still young and that could all change when she gets older 😅

Can the moray eat salt water eel food like squid?
I've never tried so I can't say for sure but tiger morays in the wild migrate to salt water when they're adults so it should be fine

Don’t think so, morays are incredibly difficult to breed apparently

That’s a good question lol, I know she definitely recognises that a person is there. I’m just not sure whether she can differentiate between me and others lol

@@ScoobzNPetz I would really recommend you get your corys out of there, I’m prepping my 200 liter tank for a tiger moray and I read when threatened Cory’s can produce a toxic slime.
@@That_0ne_guy_FL Oh wow I didnt realise they can produce toxic slime! I know they have a spike that can be venomous but I thought that was it lol My moray seems fine with them but if she does show any aggression ill take them out for sure. Thanks !!

I know it looks overstocked sometimes but it’s really not, I take most of my videos during feeding time when they all come out and gather together. Usually they’re all spread out
