I know the devs said the difficulties are very wip, i hope they add new enemies like in dead cells for the harder difficulties and also maybe some sort of extra final biome for the hardest difficulty. I also think doing alternate harder versions of bossfights and maybe even some enemies being used on harder difficulties would be really cool Idk what they will do but I'm excited to see what the devs cook up
My first Cata clear was with Boomerang + Anchorboom, lol. Getting any weapon with an Alterattack that has an protected ending is kinda the minimum requirement, and Anchorboom is actually really good at that job. It's awkward to handle, but it does a huge amount of damage. The secret use of Boomerang is that it's own Alterattack is a crazy multihit of crits. Getting any crit-based proc gifts/effects go nuts. Namely, the crit for trinket cooldown gift. Which also works for the special fish. (to get more chances of finding a fish, seek out the 2 option Weapon obelisks, and potentially re-roll if you don't see one)
One thing to note is that curse has different multipliers depending on the source. For example cursed hits and most curse on weapons have 4% curse while cursed crits have 6% curse. The curse trap you passed up at 43:36 had a 10% curse, meaning that the final curse applied by that trap had a whopping 200% damage amplifier on it.
Realistically I should have taken the curse trap. But my brain was telling e to always have a source of damage to ensure Rush procs. Which ironically curse trap would ensure on its own. Oh well. But yes, the source is insane. What I really wanted was weakening curse but sadly it never appeared.
I just wanted to hold onto it to show off that while it's a strong perk you've gotta be careful. Streamer brain took over where I'm used to taking the dangerous route for entertainments sake.
a tip dont input manual aim the direcktion of the ancor swap just let it auto do its thing after counter i promiss you it will NOT miss and hit its full combo of alter attack
strong recovery and refillable flask is a strong combo, in the last boss fight you get infinite heals if you just use it when ready and strong recovery +-s means damage never happened. Best weapon combo is probably crossbow and sirocco. They need to balance other weapons around the crossbow, it is easily the best
Personally my favourite weapon for accessing alter attacks is the crossbow, given how safe it is to do attacks from range between dodges. Next favourite would probably be the charge blade, as its also fairly lenient, stuns sometimes? And does giga damage in its own right, on top of high alter attack damage. Favourite alter attack is probably eye blade, damage is decent, eye frames and massive AOE
@ngderenfm3773 staff is definitely an incredibly strong alter attack, but I wouldn't use crossbow for its alter attack, it just doesn't do enough damage, given that it is generally single target. (The crossbow staff combo is kinda disgusting though yeah)
@ЛукаГромов-ш6к I have, while it's also very good for getting alter attacks, I still thinks it's slightly more clunky then the crossbow, and I don't like its alter attack as much.
So far the game is very fun and well made, one of the few things I have to complain about is the difficulty system, I really hope they change it in the final version, a simple increase in status on enemies makes sense but it's very boring and uninteresting, it would be cool if there were new enemies or if existing enemies received new abilities, something like that.
damn beelz... you beat the last boss on max difficuulty and did get damaged... bro i always knew ya had some skillz... but o didnt know you were the best
I just beat the final difficulty, and was extremely lucky. Had Sirocco as my main weapon (40 attack speed -20 damage) and beat bolt as my second. Burn aura (extend this with crit damage) and frost nova as well as the bubble fish shield. Had damage buff from crystallizing enemies (and weak enemies can be crystallized early during the run) bleed, curse on hit, and what saved me was dealing damage reduces cooldown for your trinkets (shield included) I had 1 potion left when I made it to the final bosses, and did the blue boss last. Hit me twice, used my potion, hit me again and had 1 Hp left. Was running for my life, freezing when I can, reducing my cooldowns and relying heavily on that bubble shield. It was such a relief when the crystallized triggered and I finally beat him
The heal is litteraly the best perk for hardest difficulty. I healed 300health with one alter hit, used boomerang+ crossbow/serichoo. You almost need a heal when playing at this difficulty, also worth noting if im correct you go to 1hp before you die if dmg does more than your current HP. Been at 1hp soooooooooooooooooooo many times so it gotta be something like that. Never been killed with 50hp left dosent matter if its a boss attack or anything else allways stop at 1hp.
Seems to be a generous 1 shot protection effect built in. But I'm not sure what the threshold is. I've seen people get 2 touched in quick succession but never outright 1 tapped from full to dead. I wouldn't mind knowing what the rules are for this.
On the cursed gifts, why did you pass on +50% critical -50% everything else, since your all plan is to do only alter attacks (and those are critical damages). Maybe for the fish and tools?
It would nuke my trinket damage at the same time. I'd rather find a normal Gift that gives me +60% damage with no drawbacks than a 50% boost with strings attached.
You can, I just wanted to keep it until it was forced out to keep the vid entertaining. Added a bit of free tension earlier on when enemies aren't as tough.
great run! You kept mentioning that you needed to get rid of the Hexed Gift, you do know that you can hover over it in your menu and press L to drop it right? Not trying to come off as condescending, I only realized it was possible after watching Haelian's Dev stream. Cataclysmic is absolutely brutal.
I didn't want to rob people of seeing me maybe die or get hit a lot. I didn't expect to have it that long though... Stream brain took over, expecting my ''viewers'' to demand suffering.
@@Beelz55 lmfao, I get it and respect. Great content either way! it took me a couple dozen attempts to clear cataclysmic, so seeing you do it in a single digit number of attempts was cathartic to watch. Good shit!
Fishbones + crossbow is my favourite so far but the problem is I can't get used to one specific thing that ruins my game experience and I'll wait till it is adressed. And the thing is - character attacks to the moving direction. It was extremely visible with anchor: you were whiffing many final alterattack shots by trying to move. And it's much worse since i'm playing with keyboard+mouse so it's 8 directions only. And for autoaim to work properly I have to not hold moving buttons at all and that screws with me trying to dash away after attack is finished because it's either delayed or I dash to the enemy and I take damage in any case. I like the game but will be stuck to your vids for now.
There seems to be very small micro gaps in the i-frames of all the alterattacks. The Eye Blade for example has a much larger gap in between the 3 swings it does. Because of this, sometimes attacks that linger on the screen a lot (like laser attacks, grounded aoe effects etc) can hit you. Weapons like Sirocco and Ravenblade have an easier time avoiding this, but it does suck when you get caught unaware.
Yeah, it just felt like a cheap way out as opposed to replacing it once my slots were full. Lets me show the hex off a bit more for the video so everyone can see while its helpful, it's risky.
Beelz, if you don't like what you picked up, why don't you drop it? (Haven't tried hex gifts, didn't unlock it.) Edit: damn, tuber luck. Congratz beelz!
Mostly because it feels a bit cheap to not hold onto it long enough to get some entertainment out of it. It helped add a bit more tension to the early game and illustrate the risk/reward of the gift for those curious how rough the lack of dodging could be.
@@Beelz55 yeah, thats true. Taking the easy way out does not feel engaging and challenging. Btw, you were cooking with it till rat party. I hate that place more than incubator.
Beelz at 75 hp. Ima heal. Gotta be safe,I don't wanna get 1 shot.
Also Beelz at literal 1 hp. Nah man I will save my potions.

What a sick run, you're nuts bro. Nice to see that the higher difficulties are possible if you're insane at the game haha
One thing to note is that curse has different multipliers depending on the source. For example cursed hits and most curse on weapons have 4% curse while cursed crits have 6% curse. @@Beelz55 fair enough, I wouldn't have been surprised if it wasn't allowed to be replaced in higher difficulties either
Having heavy blade for the alt attack will always stunlock the head for the robot boss after the fight. Super helpful for getting it cleared

The crossbow is definitely the most well made and balanced weapon out of all of them. I just really want the anchor, brush and spear to be better.

Omg. OMG THE RELAXED BREATHS AFTER
45:01 there was a whirlwind behind the chest
Boomerang with anchor is so good IMO, you have a lot of on the anchor alter attack, and it does a lot of damages.
Can’t wait to play this. Cool that they have a Zoro reference! That episode where he fought Yonko Vegeta was crazy!
