If anybody is resorting to threats of taking your property if you refuse to sign a contract to join them. They know they can't force you and are just going to try and bulldoze you with financial strains till you cave.

Um, some "HOAs" have gone as far as car theft, vandalism, destroying property and even death threats over the phone. It really frustrates me that morons are letting them pop up everywhere. I REFUSE to buy a house in a neighborhood run by an HOA because they will NEVER leave you alone. I sincerely think that house market values should be reduced 5% if it's in an HOA because why the hell would anyone move to a neighborhood full of abusive thugs??
Whoever still supports HOAs is just as bad as the monsters running them.

Even IF he joined the HOA, there is still no basis for the HOA to steal the property.

Probably, but who knows what BS rule they have in their rules giving them a 'eminent domain' over members' property for the 'good of the neighborhood? I do wonder why people destroy letters where HOAs plainly state their intention to get a property by hook or by crook. Also why don't these people get a lawyer at the start instead of waiting for things to get bad?

Last story OP shouldn't feel guilty the manager was right, also Ed had to be doing more than just that one sausage sandwich in the morning. Yes he needed to watch his health but at a certain point you can either do everything the doctor says to hang on and have no joy left or still live a little

I ran into many officers, like that jerk. I spent my time doing Mission Critical work, only to have some rank idiot 'order me' to do something else. I got sick of hearing. "I'm going to call your general!" I would sigh and tell them, "Tell him that Michal said 'Hello'" and continue my assigned work. I had a reputation for 'Being hard on Officers', but truthfully, but I simply refused to play with fools.

When I was in University, electrical engineering, we had a lab course that required us to hand in a report once a week. Most of the time the equipment didn't work properly and we got crap results. I tried to explain what went wrong because of the equipment but only gog 5.5 out of 10 on the first few labs which was a failing mark because we needed 6/10 average. For the next lab I calculated what the correct results were, wrote them into the conclusions, put a bunck of crap into the method and observations and got 10/10/ After thgat my lab partner and I handed in nursery rhymes, Mary Had A Little Lamb, Snow White, etc and the correct results for labs we did not do. We got perfect marks for them.
Next year we had a lab demonstrator who was a good guy and worked in the lab we did the previous year but who, unfortunately, had not been our demonstrator. We showed him our labs and out m ark and he just shook his head and said that we were incorrigible, but did not report. We aced his course because he worked whith the students under him.

NOT taking a lawyer's side, but the legal beagle can only work with the information given by the client. If the client lied, and the lawyer didn't verify the client's story, then the lawyer is also a SCHMUCK.

Several years ago a friend of mine was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, stage 4. His doctor was upset that he refused chemotherapy because it could possibly extend his life by 2 years. His reasoning was that we should try to live as long as possible. My friend asked if it would improve his quality of life and the doctor admitted that there would be serious side effects from the chemotherapy. My friend chose to enjoy his life as much as possible before his death and didn't want to be in misery any longer than necessary. I think he made the right choice. If you know that you are on Death's doorstep, why not enjoy as much of your life as possible.

It alway makes me wonder about stories about entitled HOAs, their president or members and their lawyers trying to take home and property. Ever think that what they are doing is illegal and in the end will come back to get them. That to entened target will fight back and will have everything needed to win.
This also shows that you have to have some type of security system with cameras to record what happens, save all paperwork showing their bad intentions. On your end make sure to have dated and sealed paperwork showing that you are the legal owner. This helps when there are disputes on owenership. Having one set of paperwork to be shown and the other be unsealed that is not contestable.

Well we're It my business as a commander of these forces I would make so many rules regarding punishments for Private too Four Star General ,if you step out of bounds and it's seen or observed it can mean a prison term of ten years. But rising as the crime increases it comes with higher prison times ,as well as loss of pensions and perks given by VA. So not only prison but penalties for families as well.

I feel so bad for OP in the last story & I feel bad for Ed's wife, but she had no right doing that. Ed was a grown man & OP was not in any way culpable in Ed's death, if anything OP tried to help the wife, by bringing it to the manager. If OP refused to serve Ed on the basis of his wife said no, it could've gotten OP fired & if McDonald's as a whole refused to serve Ed just on the basis of his wife said no, that could have opened them up to a lawsuit by Ed. Especially if that took place in the U.S. I watched my grandma slowly kill herself with cigarettes & it tore my family up, but we couldn't physically force her to stop smoking & we couldn't stop stores from selling them to her, even tho she could barely breathe even just sitting there. The only thing we could do was tell her how much what she was doing hurt us & refuse to go purchase them for her

These stories about HOA's stealing peoples land are so completely fake. Just so everyone knows court records and court filings are public information and I have not found even one story that fits these stories. Yes they are entertaining but when most are fake it kind of takes some of the fun out of them.

    • @jacksonhaslam2753

When you have no clue where this took place, I doubt finding those records would be at all easy. If you spent a week searching through the entire US and about 5 other countries, I'd be satisfied that they're fake, but I doubt you did that. I've heard stories this wild from people who went through this with HOAs, so I don't doubt this kind of thing happens

Please do not feel guilty. None of us can control what another person eats -- God never gave us that right. Each person has freedom of choice. It would be an impossible task to police and determine what anyone eats. If a person won't follow the doctor's instructions and advice, then there's not much anyone can do. Each person has a responsibility to himself and if he doesn't care enough about his health/life, there's nothing we can do about it. In your job at McDonald's, you cannot refuse to sell a customer what he/she orders, and you are not responsible for that person's diet, no matter what his condition might be. We were created by God in His image, and given free will. It's not uncommon to feel a sense of loss when someone you know passes away, but we cannot force someone to eat what their doctor has recommended. After all, we live in a free society, and how would you feel if someone else demanded that you only eat the foods they tell you to eat? Yes, my opinion!
