This was FUN.
I haven't left a comment about it before. but man, your album is killer. I can't get over how much I love places unknown! keep it up man 😁
Seth Cross RIGHT!
Seth Cross bro FUNNIEST thing is I played that same song this year and my class won K.m.e.a and state
Seth Cross Power Down is where it's at!
For me it's I Can't Lie, even though I'm in love with all of them really
Proof that UA-cam needs a 'love' button in addition to the thumbs up.
closest thing I have to that is a favorites playlist
True that!
How many hours do you play per day?
Christopher Bill: Yes
That's such a crazy tone in that solo, it sounds like a guitar with distortion
they had the mic run through an amp that had distortion put on it
This guy has a better trumpet sound than me and he isn't even playing trumpet
Bruh ikr
He just has a bright sound. It's good for jazz but not orchestra
@@Michael_Tready I'm quite convinced he could easily darken his sound, it's all in the technique, and its not all that hard of a fix once you get used to switching back and forth.
@@jacksonpalmer8955 of course but in this song his sound is very bright
Damn...who knew trombone could sound so cool?
Distorted bone shredding is sick! Love this cover, your octaves sound so clean!
Two years and all, but... _"distorted bone shredding"_
Props to the drummer. That is not an easy drum part and he crushed it.
How in the world... I am loving how the solo sounds like a guitar - awesome!
I bet he used a Guitar amp or pedal board. I've always wondered what it would sound like.
CaptainApathetic he's a using a mute called a buzz mute
jmr stuff interesting never heard of that one
Cornell & Sam it could be a high end practice mute that allows to be connected via a device for effects and recording and such
@@youtubemr14 There is no mute though. CaptainApathetic is right
Anyone else who plays trombone ever watch these videos and know for a fact that if you matched these movements and positions you would get nowhere near the same sound or effect? Lol. This was one of my favorite songs to play for jazz band in high school. Wonderful rendition daddy bone
Christopher Rohn yes
As a hack ‘bone player, all I can say is this guy is stupendously amazing! Just WOW!
Shows how stupendous the original is. AMAZING
Woot! Finally! So well done too. Props to drum and "guitar" too. Great job by both. I'm really psyched about this one!
Me too!!!!
Christopher Bill
I played this for marching season in ninth grade and this brought back many happy memories because it reminded me of when I asked out my girlfriend after marching assessment and we’ve been together for almost 4 years
The bass bone part sounds like a tonguing exercise
lol, now that was mean :(
And you can do better, son? If so...post a video of yourself playing.
Jean-Luc Rene Soto Pintor he wasn't saying it sounded bad, just that it was a boring part, which as I'm sure you know is required in some songs for everything else to sound good
It actually sounds pretty good by it self, you just don't hear the good parts(trust me, I've played it)
@@Gavin-cd8gd Kind of like the bun on a cheeseburger. Pretty boring on its own, but an integral part nonetheless.
One of my favorite songs to play in pep band back in the day
I am a trumpet player. As a brass man many trombone lines over the years get tossed to me because I can scream on a bone. Now, after reaching 60, the higher register is harder to achieve. I have to do a LOT of physical training. That has put me on a quest to be not only a screech trumpet Maynard kind of guy but a screech trombone man. Your videos have invigorated an old man!!! Training hard, practicing hard, still trying to achieve.
seeing this brings back memories of high school jazz band :')
Sean Navenma yes, my band played it my freshman year and it was my favorite, that was the best year ever too, so many memories
untaaka I played this in middle school
It’s sad, because I just graduated middle school, and with that I left all of my 7th grade friends. I miss them already, and it’s only been one day. The last song we played as a jazz band was Seven Nation Army. I loved to play 25 or 6 to 4 with them. But on the bright side I’m going to high school, and reuniting with my 8th grade friends I made in 7th grade. And in my 10th grade year, all of us will be together again. But saying goodbye was so difficult yesterday, we all cried in one big circle. I love my band family.
That electric guitar solo on trombone was sick! Great work
wow. the drummer was brilliant!
I just discovered you today,( The Bohemian Rhapsody viD), but now I am addicted to your page. I'm a 63 year old bass player, and have always loved the brass sound and was in Dance Band back in High School in the 70's. I still love Big Band Music, But now, I thing I want to learn the trombone!
No way! I suggested this. Thanks Bill 😘
Why
Jimmyjohns Official ditto
3:50. Holy mother of jesus that is amazing
That final hit on the crash, with the stick spinning away :D
Loving the whole thing. Great cover, well done, Chris and friends !
That sounds great!! Mind you, I am 64 years old. I was 9 years old when Chicago first became the band, the New Thing. The first time I heard 25 or 6 to 4, I was only 11 years old. You killed it!! You got my thumbs up. You got the talented young man!!
DUDE....freakin' amazing!! Chicago is my favorite music group! I thoroughly enjoyed this performance! You have amazing talent!! I'm also a Trombonist, go T-Bones!!!
Came here because of Alex and am now a fan of you & Jason as well. Instant sub. Also, there are apparently eight people that need some Jimmy Pankow in their lives.
This reminded me of Close Quarters by Dough Beach sound very simlar, like it.
This was a stands tune for my marching band two years ago, I love it! Great execution
Alex Iles is a maniac on the trombone!
I had this song in high school and some of my underclassmen trumpets couldn't play that high. So much fun to play in all octaves!
Wow man! That solo. Starting off with those amazing trills at 2:15. Crazy good.
Bro such a good song I remember playing this for jazz band in 7th grade
This is such a fun marching band song
Three of the seniors in my band used to always play the bass line and because I had played it in jazz band I'd jump in with the melody. I'm gonna miss getting to play this at football games with them.
Incredible! One of the most beloved Chicago songs never sounded so fresh and hip. Love the addition of Jason on drums and the impeccable Alex Iles on t-bone guitar!
One of my favorite songs of all time, great arrangement!
Dude- just learning the trombone after years of wanting to and an avid CHicago fan, and you are my hero!!! uSING THE TROMBONE TO REPLACE THE TRUMPET, AND GUITAR SOUND is KILLER
I remember playing this in highschool marching band. One of my favorites.
You know if you added the vocal part to this and I just walked in on it I would probably not be able to tell the difference between it and Chicago. I think I would have to pause and listen to realize it wasn't them. Simply AMAZING!
The stained pallets make for a great background genius!
Alex Iles's solo SO TASTEY
Check it out at 4:11 the drummer break his stick just before it fades to black! Great song. Had the album when it first came out!
Love this, I was in Our Hi School Jazz Band back in 1975, this was one of our favorite songs 🎵 that we played. All thou I was never First Chair Trombone.
I had a different tab open but when the solo came on I switched back to this tab to see what I thought was a guitar but it was a trombone and as a trombone player I gotta say thats pretty cool
Youre the best trombone Player i've ever Seen😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 legend
My Jazz Band at my school played this song, I played the trombone for it. I really liked it.
Same
One of my all time favorite songs!
Great video
👍👍👍
Another good song from one of the best

Played this for high school jazz and we won gold with it, such a beautiful song, you guys killed it!
Cant say I Could ever be prouder.
I can’t stop watching this. Absolutely amazing! Bravo!!
Played this in sixth grade for jazz band. Loved it!
One of favorite Chicago songs.
Outstanding Christopher!! and Alex!..... ok and Jason too. Loved your Master Class, performance and arrangements at the 1st annual Possum Trot Trombone Gala tonight. Don't let the road get to you.
Man this takes me back to middle school and high school marching band
This song is my favorite song I've ever played in my school's jazz band. I love this so much
Thanks for playing the "long" version. The radio edit never did this justice. Glad they invented the "long playing" record during my lifetime. (
As an old timer and huge Chicago fan YOU MUST PLAY MORE OF CHICAGO! This was an AWESOME VIDEO! They would be proud of this cover!!! :-)
This is my favorite song ive ever played on trombone. I look forward to it every year in pep band
It's like I was listening to Chicago... friggin awesome man
dude. this is incredible
Super specific, but... I really love the way you phrase any time you have repeated 16ths, the way you push to the next beat. First noticed it in your Duel of the Fates video, and its great here, too. Thanks for all the work it must take to put these together!
This kicks serious posterior. Wow!
Fantastic Bill!
How is it possible that this has less than a million views?
Thanks. A fun listen. John
My new favorite
Lovely job
Greetings: Very well done. Thx 4 the share
A classic 70's song. Well done!
*eagerly waits for the sheet music to appear*
Beautiful
OMG, Alex man, just awesome. wore the groove out replaying it over and over.
so creative unique amazing
That was fantastic! I just happened to see Chicago live this past week, and was thinking of you when they played this, so thank you so much for making this video happen!
Omg love this song, brass and this channel all my favorite things combined in one!!!!!
Chris I love this song thanks for sharing it with us.
i absolutely love the way u play so well
Great job. John
Nice!! Like the solo with distortion!!!
Crazy guitar sound and everything fit in the groove! I'm glad I bumped into your vids.
One of my favorite songs of all time. Well done.
I've watched this I don't know how many times after a third-degree association made the algorithm introduce me to this song via your version - and this is the FIRST time I've noticed that you play the raw trombone solo without distortion behind your outro. Very interesting to hear both. Gives some insight into the post-processing (sorry, "mixing").
Awesomely creative!
Alex Iles!! My god!! How did he do that!? That is amazing!
Doing all those parts was pretty amazing. Thank you for the wonderful playing and creativity.
Fantastic... Always a Chicago fan, this does the song justice!
Distorted bone solo. Hahahahahahaha. Loved it! That was so unexpected.
this is so amazing
Reminds me so much of marching season 😍😍 love lovE LOVE!!!!!!
These are awesome
Props to the drummer. Dude kills it.
I enjoy coming back to this video to relax myself and calm down after a stressing day. Also gets me more excited to continue playing trombone !
Great song - great cover, another job well done
Wow what a brilliant version!

Soo cool I played this song in my middle school jazz band
