Howdy, Doug, I just got this as a gift to myself on a milestone birthday & your video was PARAMOUNT in what upgrades to get. As a result of seeing this (a week before delivery), I bought the LED DMD, got hooked up w Sir Cliffy for the full protectors kit, bought new speakers w a powerful subwoofer (😅), got the same decal set as yours, and even side blades (but one w all the character mugs on em). 🤘 Thank you for this! As a lifetime 3-baller, I’m a Nancy Noob w electronics, I’m dreading going under the hood for summa those protectors. Love the pink rubbers on this! 💪
The truth is a lot of people in the pinball/arcade scene are essentric, so I don’t expect a lot of them to have much integrity. I have been down that road where washed hormonal males lie about selling me something, only to make a additional $20 selling it to the next guy with no communication outside of being passive aggressive. Glad you got this awesome Simpson Pinball 💪
Nice pickup Doug. I have to agree, its annoying when sellers back out of a sale. This looks like a new high end Stern pin. People really overlook the replayability on some of these older tables. Love the callouts. Much better than the South Park 😆
Yeah this machine is loaded! This is well before they did the pro, Premium, and LE stuff and just packed their machines with all sorts of goodness. Tron and Lord of the Rings are other awesome examples of great older Stern titles
It always amazes me how you can turn all these old machines into a gorgeous childhood relic of my past. Your little one will be grateful dad did this when he gets older. Keep up the great work Doug! Always enjoy the content.
Wow, that is a work of art for sure, well done sir! I used to go to a traveling arcade auction and pick up restoration projects for super cheap back when I was young and kid-less. I do miss those days!
Ever since I was little I've had a fascination with how things worked, used to get in trouble all the time by my parents for disassembling my toys and trying to understand their inner workings. Luckily that inquisitive nature has paid off into adulthood and allowed me to build a skillset that allows me to fix or repair just about anything I come across in the arcade and pinball world.
Have to admit, I was expecting all the yellows to be washed out like the one given away at a con in Texas earlier this year. Hopefully this exposure will remind Stern to remake this classic.
@@cooltoyI’ve been enjoying your channel content for a long time and your passion and hard work show in all you do! From an elder gamer like myself at 70, it’s good to see the “younger generation” keeping the passion alive and well. Kudos!
Cooltoy, I'll admit, I've never played Simpson's Pinball Party. Have definitely seen it out in the wild many times. Plan to play it the next time I see one. My big question is... Is this version a Pro, Premium, or Limited Edition model? Just kidding :) Man I dislike Stern's "multiple version" approach on all their modern tables. And though some may argue a Pro line makes it affordable for more people, is it really when you're actually getting less, and in the case of the new Venom machine, it's a very different play experience between versions from what I hear. I don't know, but knowing that there are multiple skews of a table, I would feel jipped if a Stern Pinball I REALLY wanted to play, let's say Godzilla, which is top of my list, but the location I visited only had the Pro version. I want the full experience for my... How much does it cost now? TWO FREAKING DOLLARS for a single play? And that's another thing... I miss the days when I could throw a quarter in a machine. Fifty cents, maybe. But it's gotten outta' hand. Ok, inflation and all, and machines costing more to maintain, but the world has gone batty :) So glad I have a home arcade that is free play :) Have a great one! vgv
Dear lord, whomever is operating that place with the $2.00 Godzilla is gouging like crazy. $1 per play has been the standard on the newer machines for many many years now. Doubling it up to $2 is just plain nonsense. The Pro vs Premium stuff with Stern these days is a pain to deal with, some times only some flashy toy or mech gets removed that doesn't really change the nature of the game. In other cases, (most recently Venom) the Pro gets gutted so much it totally changes how the game is played completely. It's things of that nature I absolutely hate. Especially when you are talking $2600+ tax between Pro and Premium new prices, hard to really justify any of that as good value addition.
So jealous Doug! I know this one must have been on your want list for a while. I remember you skinning your ALP after this. I would love to know what the other pin you missed out on was
Very cool! Any recommendations for a (possible) first time pinball machine buyer (I turn 50 this month)? New (like a Stern Jurassic Park at my son's request) or used? I'd be comfortable making repairs and improvements like you do in this video. A video on the subject would be awesome!
Used will typically save you at least a $1k or more in most cases. Since these things are built for commercial use, they can withstand quite the abuse. So finding a good condition used machine isn’t a difficult task. Sterns New In Box warranty is very short anyways, so to me buying new doesn’t offer too much of an incentive to pay the extra difference
Great vid and custom update of Simpsons pinball! Where can I get the 3D print file for the shooter lane protector you printed? I want to 3D print protectors for my GZ and DP pins!
My favorite pin ever. My local bar has it….one thing I noticed on yours how come the balls don’t stay in the couch on the upper playfield until the multi ball?

Does the ball keep getting stuck on your couch? My machine has intermittent issues with the ball not dropping off the couch. I haven’t been able to figure it out.
I don't have that issue, but it sounds likely that you are having issues with the pin the pushes out and in under the coach, it may be time for you to swap out that old coil or plunger assembly.
Where did you get these art blades?!?! I know a guy on Pinside was making them years ago, but I don't think he makes them anymore. Let me know please!!!

He left out furries and peds TONS in the Texas scene which is why I own my own machines now and stay away just yuck
