I own the same 4.2V8 Cayenne and it is a pretty amazing bit of kit. Quick enough to outdrag all but the most potent vehicles out there and will still return 30mpg without trying too hard. I have seen 42mpg on a long run on a dual carriageway with heavy traffic and speed restrictions meaning that I couldn't even get out of 7th gear.... never ceases to amaze me. I always wanted a V8 and this is just a joy to own and drive. Well done Porsche!
@@miguel2946 Have not had one engine problem and still returns very good mpg at 60,000 miles. Due to short runs over last six months in the pandemic it has twice done a DPF regen cycle. Prior to that, I never saw ONE regen cycle. Short runs of 15miles not good for diesel engines!
My dad has the same car and sound and I just moved back to my mum’s house and I’m never going back to my dads and listening to that beautiful diesel engine sound made me cry
@@hamzapeter3690 I got also a 2016 Cayenne S v8 diesel and you can drive over 1000km with it, especially when you are in switzerland or france. You will always be under 10l/100km more like 8-9 l/100km if you take it easy and drive longer distances. I guess the v6 is abit weak for a heavy and big vehicle like the Cayenne that's why the consumption is not as good.
Yeah just tint them because these are from factory which was probably a 500€ option knowing porsche so it will be much cheaper to tint them by yourself giving the same result
Ummm, I seriously test drove one of these today with vast excitement and it was the worst diesel I have EVER driven re turbo lag (FROM STANDSTILL) ... and that includes trucks. We did 5 launches from zero and agreed that turbo lag was about 1.5 seconds.... what a heap of $hit. We took it back within 10 minutes and then tried a few launches with my humble ford territory single turbo diesel.... and agreed that my Ford had about 1/3 of the porsches disgraceful turbo lag.... Sorry porsche - complete fail..... anyone thinking of buying one DO NOT just floor it on the move (it goes great then)..... do a few standstill takeoffs and you laugh your guts up.
hahahaha... it was a heap of shit..... worse than my humble ford territory single diesel turbo and I just bought an Audi SQ7 with twin (sequential) turbo's PLUS electric supercharger...... now that has no turbo lag...... this Porsche was crap
Ohhhh I see..... you bought one Ian. Mmmmm, whack it in normal drive WITHOUT launch control...... Thennnnnnnn..... wait for the piece of shit to wind up. Now go and test an audi SQ7...... Go on.......
I'll give you the tip though, just left foot the brake and load up about 1,600rpm jussst before you want a decent takeoff. Once you've gotten used to it - easy (obviously you only need it to grab little traffic gaps from standstill - all good when spinning). I did that with my old turbo diesels with $hitloads of lag. (of course there's launch control, but thats just for special occasions because it it works it all very hard). It was just that lag that pushed me away...... Maybe the only one I test drove was a dud? You will only know the truth with dead standstill starts - no launch control.

@@miguel2946 nono I don’t get the comment either
@@BossM5x oh i finally got it it took me 1 year, not that he doesnt want to go to his dad’s house but he cant
I also own exactly the V8 S Platinum - it is amazing. Actually economical considering what you get in therms of pulling power and comfort and space.
Sounds Authority 👺💥
V8 👌💪🤤
It's better to give revs when your engine is warmed up
Engine has had optimal temperature ;)
He did not rev it up very high anyways
Stock exhaust (without sound generator)?
V8 diesel ♥️
Guess this is the non adblue version as it sounds great. As soon as they added the adblue it killed the sound which is a real shame.
what year did they add the adblu ??
Oh yes, the sound........
Is the 3.0 diesel engine reliable?
Yes, but that's 4.2 not 3.0.
The 245 HP yes, the 272 HP not so much
Is the 4.2 diesel engine reliable?
@@tonykimy Yes both v6 and v8 diesel are from VW and are reliable.
@@borntokill158 thanks. Planning in getting that soon
