My dad or older brother had a few of the old albums, I wish I knew what happened to them, would be great to listen to them on the turn table again. Glad I still have some of my George Carlin albums yet.
My brothers and I used to love it when our parents would play the album this was on. We'd try to imitate the sound of Tommy Smothers being eaten by the Slithery Dee. I think it's a word with no vowels.
My dad told stories about the green eyes in the swamp...he even took us to a swamp in Mississippi one night...turned on the flashlight and scared the crapola out of me...because there were green eyes everywhere. Later I found out they were just alligators...but it dang sure kept me out of the swamp!
Oh, wow! I only knew this from the kids' book, "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark." I didn't know it had been around a while. Now it makes me wonder how old it really is, or if the Smothers Brothers created it
That's exactly why I searched out this video. I watched and listened to the Smothers Bros when I was a young teen. They've greatly influenced my philosophy.

That song was also in "The Mad Mad Mad Comedians".
My parents had the greatest albums. I still laugh when I hear this. "Mom always liked you best."
My dad had a lot of Smothers Brothers albums and this was the one he used to do.
This is such a classic. We need a contest to try and spell Tommy's punch-line. Here goes: Qwahqskwoquokwaho...

The casual attitude of a lot of people towards COVID-19 reminded me of this classic Smothers tune...
