Not necessarily, but it also can be. When a male Diablos and a Black Diablos looking to mate meet, they engage in the turf war, which is actually a sort of ritual combat. This serves to test whether the male has suitable genes. If the male wins, he earns the right to mate with her and pass on his genes. If the female wins, she rejects him and he has to try his luck elsewhere. But if the female is already pregnant and looking to lay eggs, she's just defending her turf from an interloper, and it could be a male, or a female that has already laid - once female Diablos have laid their eggs, they turn back to their usually sandy brown color. So if that was a male that defeated her, she probably planned to mate with him once the Hunter was either repelled or killed. Unfortunately, she got a one-way ticket to Astera to be "researched".

the fight is actually broken as we all know in small spaces fighting diablos is nearly impossible 'i'm talking about a solo run no palicos' but this one does more damage than an elder dragon and black diablos has that auto tracking horn attack which is complete bullshit,yeah you may dodge her auto tracking attack with the always reliable panic dive but then right before you're recovering from your own panic dive she hits you again with her horns.

Kratos the Dad of war it is repetitive, but in a good way. You won’t have the same feel of grinding that other RPGs do, because the monsters usually change their fighting styles in between.

The worst fight mechanics I ever play in a game.It's funny that with this horrible mechanics we pull up any fights and beat the monster which in my opinion is a big thing,considering how hard some legendary beast and behemoths are to fight. This game it's a messy pill of bull shit for the new solo players in MH series,at least in the beginning of the game,until you learn all the tricks.I uninstalled the game on Anjanath fight and 2 days later installed again and take my time,grinding for gear,potions,armor,etc. and finally enjoying the game.Patience is the key for this one.
