- We are going to start with the basics here on I.D. grinding.
Once you learn how to start , you will see how easy and fun this great craft can be. After this one, we will take you into our shop and show you how we like to do it.
Don, thank you for your input on "how to". nowadays we are short on tool and die makers, you are doing an excellent job in passing the information to the younger tool makers to carry on with good practices.
john
old tool maker.
Hi, I am really enjoying watching your videos, thanks for all your hard work in making these videos and passing on your knowledge. Richard
Another good show Don. Thanks for sharing your time and talent
I have some Suburban tools from my dads shop. I always included them on my resume, I think it helped me get jobs. Unfortunately Iv'e had three shops go out of business on me, and now I'm 59 and no one wants to hire me. Your a great teacher, and I bet a great boss.
Thank you for your kind remarks. Sorry to hear about your situation, where are you located?
These tutorials are very invaluable..many of us around the world owe you a great amount of gratitude... Sir a request to you if you may can you do a tutorial on crankshaft and camshaft grinding basics.
Thank you for watching, crankshaft & camshaft grinding is a bit out of our wheelhouse, however, we'll consider it.
@@SuburbanToolInc Thankyou for willing to share your knowledege especially to us youngsters.

Not sure if u have one but can u make a video on grinding angles or bevels (I.D) specifically dressing the wheel to the correct angle
It's on our list. Unfortunately I have been busy and have not had time to get in the shop, but hopefully will be back soon. Thank you for the suggestion.
Don, thanks for sharing with us. Looking forward for the next video! :) A question, please. I noticed the chuck on the machine is a 3-jaw. Aren't collets more accurate? Would you recommend holding your part using collets? Thanks.
+aryesegal1988 You are correct however, collets are limited in size. The chuck will accept much larger parts. In one of our upcoming videos we will show you how you can improve the accuracy to a few tenths.
SuburbanTool Inc Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to future videos. :)
Like your presentations. Too often the basic start ups are left out. OK to be reminded.
