I agree. If Cole comes back healthy, Judge keeps looking like himself, and Dominguez gets back and is the real deal, then this team is a legit contender.
Derek, don’t give a crap about stat cast and what it says. Torres and Soto are not good fielders. And Cabrera is above average. If Soto is signed by the Yankees, there is no way you DH Judge. Judge is a valuable 2 way player, Soto is not. He is your quintessential DH and I would put Judge in CF or RF. Depending on how Jones and Dominquez mature. IMO.
Can’t wait for Cole, Martian and Peraza back. Hopefully DJ comes back too. Stanton isn’t going anywhere unfortunately with his contract and he got slow but he can still hit. I like Verdugo I hope the Yankees don’t trade him. Yankees definitely need to resign Soto 100%! I think if the Yankees don’t want Judge to play outfield after 23 try him at first base the Phillies did it with Bryce Harper and who knows if Anthony Rizzo will be back on the team. The pitching rotation looks good I would still like to add other piece to the rotation and pen but so far I like it.
What are your thoughts on going to a 6 man rotation when Cole gets back because lowers the chance on injury and allows us to keep Louis H in the rotation with out having to put him on rest because it is his first season back from TJ and it allows us to let Gerrit Cole gradually work is way back in and not get injured.
If the Yankees believe in Jones, Verdugo is gone after this year there is just not enough room for Jones, Judge, Dominguez, Verdugo, Soto because none of these will be bench players. On top of that even though Stanton is doing ok right now do we believe he’ll stay healthy the rest of his contract? Lastly we don’t know if Soto will be back it’s a lot of what ifs but I’m enjoying the season right now.
Stanton is a roadblock to success ! Sorry to say that but, you really can’t play him in the outfield not ,because he can’t catch a fly ball but because he has no range he can’t run and as a DH he strikes out to often. When other players could be rotating at DH plus he’s way over paid. It’s a bad situation for the Yankees another Ellsbury .
I know Nestor gave up two breadbasket waist high fastballs and walking Siri but the 1-6 lineup GOTTA hit, 2 runs won’t win games, at least keep it close
Ferguson and Nestor seem to be the two pieces to replace if an opportunity shows up. Gil has shown enough to earn his spot once Cole returns. Ferguson is a big 🤷♂️
Unbelievably slow? Come on he has to be one of the top 3 slowest players in the league if not the slowest. He got thrown out at 2nd base on a single to right field,maybe in little league this happens but in the majors it’s an embarrassment 🤦🏼♂️

I think it thins out the bullpen too much and I don’t think the Yankees will do it, except for possibly a couple of weeks
