Parkour is about getting somewhere via the fastest route, if you can't catch someone then no matter how good you are at your style you can't do anything to them . (I guess you can say the same thing about track but that's not a martial art) you get too live for another day that's a win in my book.

But what i actually recommend you is, instead of already deciding what to combine, you should settle and focus on one art at the beginning and get proficient in it. @dennisthemenace8168 2 роки тому +1

@@ranchan8361 I did Systema when I was a kid and I can tell you it's crap. Too much blah blah blah on the physics, vectors and stuff which is cool at start and in theory sounds very powerful :), but in reality u don't learn much else but how to take punches ;) And then one day you realize that it's all BS and simply a con. Just like you have those chi masters who can defeat any opponent by waving their hand in the air, same goes for Systema, a circus act where the almighty master can defeat 10 people by simply turning and moving away (applying the omnipotent vector physics) resulting in all of his opponents mysteriously falling to the ground.
The only positive thing I've learned from Systema, is my understanding of how Bruce Lee did his 1 inch punches, including that famous punch that sent a guy flying away and landing on a chair which then also moved quite a distance. And that understanding also diminished Bruce Lee for me too, since I could do that stuff at the age of 13. So yeah, one positive take away from the Systema - you start by moving your back(hip I think, my English isn't perfect) where u have so many muscles that can generate power, then follow by shoulder, into the fist, punch(but really just do follow through push ;) ), vuala... I could push a grown up man twice my size same way Bruce Lee did. So, it's not really 1 inch punch he performed, but 1 inch push, hence, the act also stinks a bit like Systema does ;) but it fooled lots of people over the years.
Ok, I lied, there was just one more good thing I learned, so I guess you could waste a lesson or two on it just to realize some facts of physics, which might not naturally come to our mind - that is applying your weight can be a very strong factor no matter how much you actually weight, in other words you may not need to apply lots of strength, just put your weight on it ;) well, I guess that sums it up for the Systema.

I'm a huge sumo fan, and here's the thing you need to know if you think it's just fat guys in diapers: yes they are big and "fat", but in many cases they are fat in the same sense that a strongman is fat. Take a look at Chiyonofuji, most wrestlers look like that underneath a surprisingly thin layer of fat which is there for weight and protection. You might think that a sumo wrestler is just a fat guy bumping into other fat guys, but this guy is strong enough to pick up and throw equally big and fat guys (300+ pounds) around while they are resisting. To illustrate it even further, the best currently active wrestler, Hakuho, is known for his strong initial charge. The impact of that charge is equivalent to hitting hard concrete after jumping from a three story building!
If any of this has made you more curious about the sport I encourage you to watch videos from Jason's All-Sumo channel

It's silat practitioners that kicked british SAS back in 1949 and 1965 in Indonesia.
That's how silat gain it's popularity in europe.
    So, yeah...
You know what they say, don't bring a knife into a gun fight.
But most importantly, don't bring a gun into a hand to hand combat.
The british deployed gurkhas in 1949 to counter the silat practitioners who render the SAS useless.
And they did have some bloody melee combat encounters.
Before the gurkhas defected and join the freedom fighters side.
The british didn't deployed gurkhas in 1965 indonesia vs malaysia confrontation because the gurkhas refused to fight.
The gurkhas and ex-Imperial japan army soldiers who fight along with the freedom fighters are also practicing silat during and after the war.
Also the S TIER are northern china region kungfu. I'm not talking about wushu.
Im talking about the Baji Quan and Xinyi liuhequan.
Those martial arts are designed to fight opponent bigger than the practitioner and finish them off in one single shot.
It's very effective against caucasian people.
The silat practitioners who kicked the british SAS also use those kungfu as their last resort.
You won't get to see that in competition or in the octagon.
They are clearly not sport just like silat.
(That silat competition you probably have watched is very much a sissy watered down silat, the real one is way more "liberating" than MMA competition)
Why they never compete in octagon?
The MMA make some stupid rules to prevent them to participate in MMA tournaments.
If you think MMA or sambo or sanda is the most practical martial arts, you should go out and fight more.

But this art, just like sanda and sambo have both sporting versions and self defense street variations. The same could be said for Silat, however to say Silat in Malaysia and Indonesia is like saying Kung-fū or Wushu in China, there are a lot of styles of Silat; and penjak/pencak Silat is just one of them.

Glad to see ninjutsu get a mention, although it got F XD
As a practitioner, it is definitely not meant for fighting. The basic principal is to not die or get injured, so it has alot more of getting out and away from a fight. When confronted by a guy with an arrogant personality for example, cowering and pissing yourself might be the way to go.

I disagree, as Ninjutsu has never failed me anytime I have had to use it in a self defense situation. Like most self defense arts, the use of it's violent tactics is left for last resort. But it like other Japanese battlefield oriented arts is effective when taught and applied properly. Although the way it is spelled in the list is incorrect.

I train in koryu ninjutsu, with more focus on things like using your breath to tell time, staying still for hours, meditating to go into REM sleep faster etc. There is taijutsu, but it usually involved you surprising the opponent instead of a square off.

Tsuki taoshi is when you palm strike someone so hard that they fall to the ground(sometimes knocked out) the other i remember right now is sokubi otoshi... Wich is a "karate chop" to the back of the head when someone charges low...
Also, headbutts, forearm smashed, and hooking palms are allowed... The basic combo that they use in high level sumo is an uppercut to the chin and a straight palm strike to the THROAT...

On Systema: I and my friends once sparred with a man, 3 of us at the same time, and we couldn't hit him, even if hit each of us several times.
Now, he had practiced several martial arts, including Karate, Muay Thai, Kali, but the best ones, he said, were Systema and SAMBO.
His name is Rommel San Pedro, founder of FALCON combat sciences. He's more well-known as a pastor though, although he does appear in one Systema Ryabko video.
In 2018, I met a man from Equatorial Guinea who served as a Russian Paratrooper. I asked him what he thought about Systema, and he said that it's not a good civilian art, simply because it did not properly teach how to fight at long range and defend against strikes. It was, however, very good for fending off ambushes and getting to your carry pistol. He also confirmed it was taught to Russian special agents.
Being a paratrooper though, he learned boxing and SAMBO, and he said those were better for civilians.
As for Systema working in MMA, it's been used successfully in Ganryujima by Akira Sit Lek. The grappling and throws could keep up with Judo and Muay Thai, but like my paratrooper acquaintance said, it's bad at defending leg kicks.
I have practiced some Systema myself and I would say it won't work if you don't already have a background in other martial arts, especially a hard striking art like boxing.

I like metatrons brief analysis of weapons based martial arts top 10 list. He mentions how the martial art has too many unnecessary movements and the sparring isn't there.
In my personal opinion from what I have seen of Kalaripayattu demonstrations on youtube, there is alot I like, the Completeness of the martial art, the range of moves, and the focus on health. But there are also alot of things that I am not a huge fan of, like the lack of true sparring, excessive impractical movements, Also the lack of protective equipment.
Kalaripayattu is neat and looks like it is improving alot as more historical methods are uncovered and improvements are made to the art, in a way it is alot like Hema where the martial art improved by looking to the past.

REX KWON DO!!! Yes! When I watched your Part 1 video and learned about Ameridote, it totally reminded me of Rex Kwon Do. I'm happy to see that you included it. "You think someone wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys? Forget about it!" Great movie!

The ninjutsu type should have been labelled (formerly) ninpo-taijutsu and currently budo taijutsu.
It is literally a combination of Japanese striking arts and grappling arts combined. With the mindset of noncompetitive usage. Therefore, anything goes... however, most lack sparring sessions on the average dojo and so, much like Aikido, most students cant use that knowledge for shit
Hence why both are talked about as a joke

Would be dope if you broke up "Kungfu" a bit further. Perhaps including some of the "major" styles, e.g.
    - sanda (you've got this already)
    - taiji
    - wing chun
    - bagua/xingyi (you could get away with lumping them together)
    - shaolin
    - shuai jiao
There's a bunch of other well-known styles like Hung Gar, Choi Li Fut etc but I'm guessing that you wouldn't have time to do them all. Though having you (as an outsider) do a full "Kung Fu Tier List" would be quite interesting haha.
    Also, Turkish oil wrestling.

After the last ranking list, I wanted to learn about the combat history of Capoeira. Surely at one point it worked for somebody, and I wanted to see what that looked like. Found this small channel, and it's pretty crazy ua-cam.com/video/cWB-pWdaLQ8/v-deo.html
I do like the idea of turning a nasty street-fighting into a colorful dance, almost in celebration of not needing it anymore. Beating swords into ploughs as it were.

13:54 I started my journey there in 2007, that exact building. That's Guro Chad and Guro Cory. I don't necessarily disagree with your assessment as I found that class in the curriculum the most like "would this work?" since the other 3 were Kali, Thai boxing, and Jun Fan

@@SenseiSeth Yeah it may have changed significantly since then so I can't say I'm an expert on today and also I was fresh into the game so maybe I was just not good at it in my initial foray into martial arts.
