For all the things Redux did well, there were three major things that I disliked about it that I believe are an easy fix: A) The art style feels somewhat cartoonish and detached from the overall tone of the original game B) The speed of the animations appears to be seemingly slower than it was in the original, perhaps it's just me, but it does take away from the seriousness of combat C) For starters, I'm aware of why they changed the ending and the connotations behind it... But I truly believe the original ending was much more impactful and gave more meaning to the overall tone and story of the character
I only played Postal 1 and Never had those problems with the game, I learned to throw molotov Or use napalm in front of it. The same would go for redux if I had it
Postal 1 maybe is the final straw of postal. Postal 1 is the present while the other postal like postal 2 is he is sane. Until in the final postal 1 he turns crazy ig.
I thought you would talk about the war journals more In depth. Or mention how the postal dude was a gulf war or vietnam war vet due to his well use of weapons. And this Is more like a basic review not a full blown analysis. I also dont like how much scripted this video Is.
The dude (at least from Postal 1) looks to be in his mid-late 20s, so that probably rules out that he served in Vietnam. I do like to think he served in the Gulf War since it does sort of fit into the same timeframe, and the actions of that war (as well as the existence of Gulf War syndrome that caused many health issues in soldiers that fought in the conflict) could partly explain why he went "postal"
I love the people that act like video games dont make kids do bad shit. When the warriors came out we were mf tearing shit up. Rocks thru windows stealing shit and breaking everything we could ✌️😂
So, Postal is literally just a mass shooter simulator. No depth, no message, just edgy point n click. And people have the audacity to get mad at media for branding the game as controversial...
There is a strong message behind, read the diary entries, think a bit for yourself, if you played the game you'd know you don't even have to kill non hostile NPCs, the game is played through the protagonists "imagination", it's an unreliable version of the real events, he did commit a murder spree, but as the ending and many other things suggest it's not exactly how it went down, and as the diary entries suggest he might've been in the military or as the ending suggests he might've been possessed by a demon or "the player", and acted only as bad as the person controlling him wanted to, there's a lot to learn from this meta-massacre game, especially the first ending where you cannot harm any of the children and you realise you're going insane/it's all in your head, why does the player see a bunch of kids and instantly want to shoot them? I see you missed the point of this game entirely
You know what's sad about the ending change? That they said "it no longer applies anymore" because it was supposed to depict the unthinkable at that time

@@plugshirt1762postal 2 and 1 are both equally fun although I had way more fun playing 1, but paradise lost is way better than both. Postal 3 is absolutely horrible and 4 isn't as bad as people say, I've had decent fun playing it the only issue being the crashes
@@d3ds3c25 oh yeah to clarify I mean postal 4 is the only bad game they’ve made not in general as postal 3 I pretend isnt even in the series. I wouldn’t say 4 is terrible by any means but it just feels like it’s perpetually the watered down version of postal 2 which makes it feel worse.
@@plugshirt1762 yeah I get what you're saying, the first time I played it I was like "wtf is this?" But then as I started cutting it some slack it was actually pretty fun
That "HEY" Editors note sound actually scared me. 😂 had to rewind to make sure someone isnt in my apartment.
I know I wouldn't want Vega Van Dam (the guy who makes the HEY sound) in my house.
Great write up.
Though the game can get pretty bogged down in it's repetitive nature, all the subtext and background details are much more interesting.
Certainly a game worth dissecting and delving into past the guts of the gameplay.
I want a thematic sequel to Postal 1997.
In a way, Hatred is basically that just with having a mess of gameplay.
Hey! thanks for using my video in 6:24
7:05 don't be sorry, these things need to be heard.
So the lines from dude are dubed as demon in the files, its not dude himself is not saying that, his inner thoughts and itch is talking "the demon.". He seeing something entirely different the player doesn't see what he sees entirely, the loading screens and the ending is the only time we really see what he sees.
And the ending of rampage is basically showing us dude fighting himself to show us he has conquered his mind kinda a true ending to the game because what he is standing on is used to fight everyone and everything to get to the top.
Would you like to sign my petition?
Okay, I guess that sounds good
No way you freaking Pinko
*menancingly points at petition*
the first two seconds just made me notice i'm pretty much a monster..
it sent chills down my spine dude why would you say that?!
I've done some personal testing, and I've found (at least for me) that the video goes you play do effect how I think about things, but never to the extreme that the stereotype is, but there is something there. Might just be my ADHD idk
I feel like it effects you the most if you are already not quite right in the head. If anything, a person who ends up showing signs of instability probably should not play such games, and that may be a catalyst in their mind. But I know in others it is their outlet to keep themselves from also going postal. All in all is a pretty fucked dilemma to gave.

Fact: if Postal got so much controversy is because the Columbine shooters played it
I'm pretty sure Doom was another game they played and that caused a bit of an uproar for that game as well.
Only Dylan maybe played, he had the box art in his room.
Also another fun fact, RWS changed the ending in redux because of Sandy Hook.
@@Guadalajara1937 That would've been a PR nightmare for RWS if they did decide to keep the original ending.
@@LetsTalkAboutGames it was an understandable choice.
@@LetsTalkAboutGames I wanted to mention postal mostly because Doom and Duke Nukem offer monsters as enemies while postal as a more sinister tone to join with the humans enemies that you kill
7:00 I mean you're not worng in the slightest. I complketely agree. The media feeds off of events like this wich I feel like inspires other such as the recent Highland Park sooter (not gonna give that asshole the recognition he wants). A song by Watsky titled 'Stick To Your Guns" explains this as well.
Someone should make a first person (boomer shooter style) remake of postal 1
Technically Postal: Brain Damage is sorta that just that it's more in line with the tone that Postal 2 and later entries went with. Hatred with the First Person mod is also kinda similar but what you speak of hasn't been fully replicated.
@@LetsTalkAboutGames no I mean the entire postal 1 game in first person, same levels/maps, same art style, same weapons, same enemies, same sounds effects and voice lines, pretty much just postal 1 in first person.
That is what I meant: something like that doesn't exist as of right now.
@@Caleb-fv5fp Make it yourself, dweebazoid. The tools to make Doom WADs are out there.
@@Caleb-fv5fp they could probably remake it with 2 if a good enough mod team
Hear me out... postal 2 vr
The two dudes aren't the same tbh, I have a theory that PDude1 is his real father. As seen in Postal 4 he has an edgy personality compared to PDude2 who's more comedic and stupid
Automatic like for Cuphead music. 👍
I like reduxös advanced raphics and characters but in some parts the map itself still looks exactly like in postal 1.
Hatred was in cross promoted? It was mocked by them.
I hope the UA-cam algoritm will start to support you a bit more. Would be deserved 🙂
Ive been interested in playing the original postal, not the redux. Is the original on steam? Because i see the redux and postal on steam..
The original is Free on Steam as of the time I'm looking at it, so go buck wild with the original.
@@LetsTalkAboutGames oh shit. Didnt know that! I personally dont care about the ending and get why they had to change it. I dont think they ever intended for it to cone across the way it did. Anyways good video!
@@Goofy-fd7cz they didn't have to change it they changed it because the original was shown as killing children is too far and something most people think is unthinkable but now a days where you can go on the news and find stuff like that they thought it wasn't as "far out there" so they changed it
@@caylobbailey5149 I think its sad. I dont mind the original
@@Goofy-fd7cz me neither i actually prefer the original ending cause i think it's just more impact full
For all the things Redux did well, there were three major things that I disliked about it that I believe are an easy fix: A) The art style feels somewhat cartoonish and detached from the overall tone of the original game
B) The speed of the animations appears to be seemingly slower than it was in the original, perhaps it's just me, but it does take away from the seriousness of combat
C) For starters, I'm aware of why they changed the ending and the connotations behind it... But I truly believe the original ending was much more impactful and gave more meaning to the overall tone and story of the character
Oh my god i killed a family of 5 because i played minecraft

Im so funny
Shut up
Hey, when I read the comment I did bust out laughing so you did get me.
hilarity
I only played Postal 1 and Never had those problems with the game, I learned to throw molotov Or use napalm in front of it. The same would go for redux if I had it
11:22 EEHHHH! :D
Got it for The Nintendo Switch.
Postal 3? Idk what you're talking about bro
Could say the same about Corkscrew Rules.
amazing
Postal 1 maybe is the final straw of postal. Postal 1 is the present while the other postal like postal 2 is he is sane. Until in the final postal 1 he turns crazy ig.
what were the yays i kept hearing
i keep hearing an eeeEEE in your video
Actually, I'd rather not. Let's NOT talk about Postal.
Lol I forgot about the movie hobo with a shotgun
sauce for the dnb songs you used in the background plssss
I thought you would talk about the war journals more In depth. Or mention how the postal dude was a gulf war or vietnam war vet due to his well use of weapons. And this Is more like a basic review not a full blown analysis. I also dont like how much scripted this video Is.
I would say he may be a vet of balkan war send back due to his mental health not being so good. If he was a viet veteran he would be around 40-50
The dude (at least from Postal 1) looks to be in his mid-late 20s, so that probably rules out that he served in Vietnam. I do like to think he served in the Gulf War since it does sort of fit into the same timeframe, and the actions of that war (as well as the existence of Gulf War syndrome that caused many health issues in soldiers that fought in the conflict) could partly explain why he went "postal"

postal redux is pc crap, the end.
So, Postal is literally just a mass shooter simulator.
No depth, no message, just edgy point n click.
And people have the audacity to get mad at media for branding the game as controversial...
It’s good stuff. 10/10 would rather shoot people in the virtual realm instead of the real world.
