I like the textured skins and the use of real chains for the nunchucks. I used to collect Spawn stuff as a kid, so I've been disappointed with McFarlane using plastic chains for his newer figures.
I picked up all 4 of these myself, and for $13 I think they’re a bargain. I also have all the 1988 figures to compare them to. These are basically like the old figures but improved in essentially every way.
I honestly think they look really cool! I can't wait to make some stopmotions with them! I only wish leo and dons head were switched back to the originals. I wonder if it was a choice or a mistake that they went that way with them? Either way, they still look super cool
Thanks for showing the Leo Donnie head issue, it's the main reason I've been holding out from buying these but it's not to bad on film I may have to get the set (or just buy the Leo and forget about the rest just like every other time)
I ended up passing on them when I saw them. I just didn't feel I liked them enough to warrant spending just for the sake of completing. Something about them and not really the skin texture, just something didn't click with me. I do however have the sketch turtles and those I really really love over these. To each their own. That head swap for Leo and Don seems like a mistake Playmates won't admit to!
I really like these remasters but they could’ve been better. MOTU origins launched with a $13 price point and had weapons, armor, etc as well as far superior articulation. The ankles combined with the thigh hinges suck. I can live with the skin texture but damn those oversized noses. Almost like Leo, Don, & Mike heads were designed by someone else. Raphael has the best head sculpt. The others are off. I still like them and will support this line. Hopefully by the time storage shell variants release, playmates updates to ankle pivots. Really glad I got all 4 without getting raped by eBay scalping scum

I have a question: since you mentioned rise of the TMNT do you collect those? Or any other playmates line after the og line? (Besides mutant mayhem)
Rise figures actually have more articulations than mutant mayhem which is what they base these
