I always use gelatos or water soluble crayons to color raise areas like this. I rub on the crayon and move it around with my fingers and spray water all over to get drips. It isn’t as intense as the alcohol colors, but has more variation. Your project turned our beautifully.
I have never used the wax paste so I was happy to hear that it will not come off once it dries. Wow, it really did pop as soon as you started adding the gold. I really enjoy these Pinterest inspired videos. They are perfect reminders that you can take something you find captivating, and using what you have, make it your own.
Gorgeous mixed media tag. Love how you arranged your medal pieces and the different colors added. One of a kind piece of art. Love how the eye turned out.
I’m so glad you got to use your beautiful girl portrait in another project. She was a wonderful base for this tag. She turned out so beautiful. I love using any metallic paint or wax. It always tops things off and adds that perfect touch. You’re so brave. Lol. I was holding my breath part of the way. Thanks for showing us how to take inspiration from other places and making the final project our own.
This is one of my favorite things that you do. It’s so inspirational. It’s nice to see how you come up with stuff you don’t have, which is something I face all the time. And even if you don’t like something, how you fix it. Thank you! ❤ Tamara
This was so fun to see how you interpreted something you saw into your own style. It's beautiful. I love that you just try things and if it doesn't work you just figure out how to make it work - and you don't have to have a million products. You're a very talented lady.
Love it!! Excellent job! This is my favorite kind of video you do!!! It really makes me think. I pause video and take time to see what idea I would come up with. That way its more fun and I learn more. Its a great tag she did. TFS! Austin,TX USA
Morning Barbara, WOW, UTTERLY GORGESSO!!!!! Just love how she turned out. The blue really brought it to life. She is super cute and looks a little "Egyptianish", well done. Thank you, again, for your inspiration and for showing us to just be brave and go with the flow. Blessings and hugs, as always, from Cape Town. Diana 😄🦊🦊
Barbara:this video needs to be watched by me a second time. While watching you create, I kept on thinking, I could try this with using all magazine papers. I seem to be into collaging right now. It all remains to be seen. Carol from California
I watched this in TV..it's so much easier for me to see what you do I loved it. You are so creative and hit that right on. Thank you for sharing this and helping us figure out what to do and try this ourselves.🤗🤗🤗🤗👍
Whoa Barbara, the cluster of ornaments around the eye is beautiful! Gold just gives everything that sex appeal when added. Weird description but it gives everything that special umph to top it all off.
usually when you paint texture paint on a mixed media compostion, which the original is, its easier if you spray a bit of water on it after its dry, then take a small paint brush apply a bit of paint color, mist again and the paint flows naturally and beautifully. Or just mist spray with paints, then mist a bit of water and let the pigment move around but all the same very nice
I bought a coloring book awhile back and it was all beautiful women with beautiful eyes. Looks just like that picture. Can’t wait to do this as I have the picture already. Thanks for sharing!
I had ordered a bunch of alcohol inks thinking you use them like oxides. I was going to return them, but now I’m going to keep them. You’re the first person I’ve seen use them for something other than making patterns with heat guns and straws!
It’s amazing how you manage to create similar objects with the things you have … you are so talented ! On the Finnabair Art Studio channel you can find tutorials to check how they make things like this.
So many times I thought wow that's cool, you could stop ...but then out came another product. Needs to satisfy you and make you happy. I love the finished tag... and yes to that background paper!! Thank-you for suggesting alternative things that embellish. I make my own texture paste as well...😁 I have 3 other notifications, had to watch 49 dragon flies first! Of course!❣️🙂
Barbara, you might try some solvent, for the first paste you used. So you know, the Inca is water soluble, but use distilled water. I used regular water and one molded but the one I used distilled water in was fine!
I have been using the wax on altered tins which some have dried out like the one you tried. I love how you make do with what you have and it turned out gorgeous 🥰
Oh my goodness, what a stunning image 😍. Yes mobile versions of sites can be bare minimal🙈. I love swirls, they always seem to work. I like that you have a dragonfly , it's like your signature. Yes it's a gorgeous colour combination😍😍😍. I usually make custom colour sprays from gel food colouring. Ooh that ink is perfect though! And the wax paste is beautiful 😍. Lol it's hard to stop when something works well 🙈. Absolutely gorgeous Barbara 😍😍😍, I've saved this to try on canvas when I eventually get time lol. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
Are you planning on continuing to do more of these Pintrest inspiration videos? I have added a board of my own to start using as inspiration as well! I have one for my Zentangle style art, but I can't believe I didn't think to make one for junk journaling as well!
Barbara, you are daring. You don't give up. You look for the solution and you find it. The end result...amazing! 💖

Barbara, the gold just brought all the elements alive. She turned out beautifully! TFS! ❤️
Love how you interpret someone else's ideas and make it your own. You are such an inspiration. Das ist einfach Toll.
Her eye looks very realistic... Slightly spooky ... I love it 😻
