Your tag turned out very beautiful. This video is so helpful as you showed us the process of how to substitute things and how when they don't work to try again. It was a real learning experience. I must confess that sometimes I try too hard to make mine look like somebody else's. So I'm hoping that I can learn to get over that. This video was helpful in that way
I love it!! Great job on improvising. I think it’s important to remember that when we tag things we like on Pinterest, that it’s just inspiration. Of course we will end up with something a bit different, but that’s the whole idea. We all have our own unique style and our own individual materials to work with. So in the end it becomes our own piece. Absolutely beautiful. ♥️
Your tag is gorgeous, the crackle stamp was a definite yes, brought needed texture! Loved watching your process, I also agree that comparison tricks our minds into thinking that our ‘inspiration’ was supposed to be the exact result! 💕🇨🇦
I love seeing how you look at each section and figure out how to make it work. I love looking at the Pinterest tags and Journals. Ooohhhing and aaawwwing over them. Wishing I could do that. Knowing I can’t. But when you do it your way it seems much more doable! And that’s so smart to stop looking at the 2 tags, side by side and comparing them. I love the way yours turned out. I keep thinking of the saying, How do you eat a whole cow (something really big)? One bite at a time. You can’t “eat” this tag all in one big bite. But if you take small bites, it’s not so scary. Thanks for showing us this!♥️♥️♥️
Just Beautiful!! I am learning so much from this series! Thank you so much for taking us along as you work out these gorgeous pieces of art! I love it that you find other materials to work with and how they are every bit as beautiful as the original. It helps those of us who are limited in our on hand supplies to know that you can make beautiful pieces using what we have.
awwww! you did it again! why? why? you can’t show me things that I immediately wanna try out but don’t have time! argh! drives me crazy! your tag is so beautiful!
Lots of fun to watch these inspired tags! I believe the "string" under the Pinterest butterfly is orange raffia, probably dyed as it usually comes in a natural tone.
Absolutely stunning. I get a lot of inspiration from the way you change things to make the piece your own. Your advice about not comparing your work to the original was so helpful. The last thing anyone needs is to become dissatisfied with our creations. Thank you Barbara . You are such a wise woman.
Gorgeous! I have found, on the stamps that print black around the edges, if I cut the extra rubber part away with a sharp exacto knife it stops the overprinting.
Love the colors. Thanks for the tip on using water color instead of distress oxide so the gesso doesn’t take on the color from it. Now I know how to prevent what I’ve had problems with before. Thanks!
I think your adaptions are equally beautiful as the original... I think it's always good to remember that it's still your own work even though you use others work to inspire you... That's my philosophy when I use others work anyway 😉😁 Hope the move is going well sweetie💖 💖
Morning Barbara. This is a lovely tag. Love the colouring of the "scraps", they work so well together. Another great success, my crafty friend. As always, you have inspired us and, all I can say is, THANK YOU. We know how much work and effort go into every video and, I for one, appreciate all that you do. If possible, I NEVER miss any of your videos and have even gone back into the "archives" to watch the golden oldies. Pure enjoyment and pleasure. As always, from Cape Town, Blessings and hugs to you and your hubby. Diana
I was thinking the fibers from a spent dryer sheet could give you the fuzzy string behind that orange string. Use an ink pad to color it. This tag was beautiful the way you added your own elements. Thanks for showing this. I'll give it a try when I'm not working. 😊
I just got your notification and I am still in the middle of watching video but I wanted to be the first to comment. Bucket list completed. Lol. Off to watch it. I'm sure it will be wonderful as always!! I'll probably comment again. Lol. 🤣🥰💙💙💙
Lovely!! Every panel is unique to itself; each having so many special details. When it unfolds- it is amazing! Like a visual explosion or like a time-lapse video of nature unfolding. I love your techniques and I love your creativity 🖤.
"I don't have those exact ones. I am lucky to have this set." What a refreshing attitude in today's "You need to buy this!" world!! I am going to work on having that attitude myself from now on instead of grumbling. Also, thank you so much for providing us with this video today as a car came over into our lane tonight and although we were fine, we had to stamp on the brakes and it left me feeling quite shaken and anxious but now I am feeling inspired and calm. xx
So toll geworden liebe Barbara. Ich mache das auch manchmal einen Tag von Pinterest aussuchen zur Inspiration und was eigenes daraus gestalten. Gut zum lernen. Danke für deine Inspiration
Thank you Barbara for this one it's a different colour scheme for you. I like it. Next time in your pinterest series could you do a complicated one please even if it has to be in 2 parts . It would be good to see how you dissect it. I am doing a collage each day thanks to you some better than others. Thank you
I love when you do the Pinterest inspired videos! Your tag turned out beautiful! I hope you do more of these! Oh! I forgot to say Congratulations on your new place! So excited for you! I know you can’t wait!!!
Thank you for inspiring me! I always try to match watch I see and get frustrated or simply don’t try to make it my own. Now I have permission. I love your tag!
Barbara, I really enjoyed this video! 😍 the use of watercolors is inspiring since I have many water soluble mediums and need to get them out more. Thank you for sharing your talents 🙏 😊
your tag is just beautiful. I love watching you find substitutes for items you don't already have. I definitely need to use what I have - which is too much. 🙃
Really enjoy these inspiration videos. They are so helpful as I don’t necessarily have a lot of stuff and it gives me some great ideas. Your tag turned out gorgeous!
This was the first one I watched in this series👩🎨 watching your process and patience😬 was really helpful. I liked how you used watercolours, instead of distress oxides. Sometimes using salt on wet watercolours gives a great effect, I know it works well with blues. I haven't tried orange or green yet. I am in the middle of making tags, do I might do a couple with watercolours. The effect on the gesso looked great, very organic. Great inspiration 🥰
Really enjoyed this. I love to try Pinterest inspired items. This one came out great. Glad you showed with water colors as that is what I choose to work with more often than not. Great explaining your choices and how they can come together. Thank you for sharing with us. *Debbie*
I too, loved watching your process and how your tag turned out. Years ago, we did with cards. I never think to do that for embellishments. So, I made a tag. I used several different generic ink pads I've had for years. For my butterfly, I used a die cut I had cut from a magazine photo and backed it with scrapbook paper. Instead of the leaves on top, I stamped a couple at the bottom to make it look like falling leaves. I also used a small butterfly stamp for the other two. For the splatters, I couldn't find my gesso, so I used some white metalic paint. Then I used some beige-ish yarn. I love how my tag turned out! I would never have thought to use all of this had I not watched your video. Thank you for the inspiration!
I loved this project and was inspired to make my own version of the tag. Thank you, so much! And thank you for reminding us of other places to draw inspiration.
this is beautiful hun the small butterfly’s look like the one u had on ur first 5 item digital swap sheet just smaller, but u did a wonderful job hun xx
