@@theartistrator766 That it is! I often wished it was more than seasonal. If I could’ve worked for the state parks in Vermont year round, I might have never gone to grad school!
Beautiful! Did you really grow up in a log cabin?!
I did indeed! The only source of heat was a wood stove, so I chopped a lot of wood too. Cheers, Allen!
Born here in VT and I will die here. I all seriousness why do they call that a lake?...more like a pond.. Champlain is a lake! All good, thanks for this, peace.
Ha ha! You can find older maps where it’s actually labeled Elmore Pond. Perhaps “Lake Elmore” brings in more tourists. It’s a beautiful spot, though. All the best, Jay!
That’s my home state too
And a very fine home state it is!
Was that tower dark? It looked rather imposing from the ground. Also a rare shot of Dr. Fantasy in the wild without his protective tweed. Hopefully your nemesis will not descend on the dark tower and catch you untweeded. Enjoy your vacation!
Thanks, Christopher! It was a warm day, and tweed is not ideal for hiking, though it’s essential around nemeses. Fortunately, I escaped unscathed!
Christopher that was funny.
It looks like places in books and movies 😆
It often feels that way!
I was expecting AP to come out from behind a tree and battle his nemesis!
That would have been highly unexpected, and I wasn’t wearing my protective tweed! 😁
I'm gonna tell you, the same thing that I usually tell people who were born in places like Bariloche, here in my country. I don't know if you'll be able to realize some day, how lucky you are. I would've loved to have grown up surrounded by a beautiful landscape as you did. I grew up between buildings and smoke instead. Life is definitely not fair my friend, hahaha!
Anyway, I don't no what you think about this, but to my opinion, the environment where you grew up, might have played and important role in your imagination development. How many times did your imagination fly away? I mean during your childhood, while you were looking at that beautiful landscape. Whatever the case, I hope you enjoy a lot your stay in your hometown, it must be great for you.
Thanks so much, Ivan! I agree that the landscape - including the sounds and smells - of our youth very much influences our imaginations.
Philip with the fantasy protagonist upbringing.
Ha ha! I often felt like a fantasy protagonist wandering in those forests.
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy That's why you are Doctor Fantasy.
It's a lovely place from the looks of it, reminds me of the north here.
@@Paul_van_Doleweerd In fact, you can see Canada from the fire tower on top of Elmore Mountain.
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy All of it? How high are you?! 🤣🤣🤣
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy Oh wait, it's probably just Montreal, I'm not sure if that counts, considering that they keep trying to leave... 🤣
I’m from Woodstock, VT and just visited there for the first time in 7 years. I love VT, but think it’s too bad it’s being overrun by people from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, etc.
Woodstock is gorgeous!
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy It is. Great place to grow up. I’m thankful for that!
@@jimv.6631 I’ve only passed through, but with my mouth wide open as I take in how lovely it is.
Great video but I’m laughing in New Zealand at that “mountain” ….
The mountains in the Northeast of the US are not very high in comparison to younger ranges, but they’re old and distinguished. 😁 Cheers, Dan!
Log cabin? My family used to own a summer home over near the big lake and I went to YMCA camp on the big Lake back in the day. The summer home was clapboard.
Sounds like some good memories!
I live in Cambridge and you can take the person outta Vermont but the blood still runs green! My daughter is learning that now lol
So true! I just got done hiking Mansfield from the Underhill side, every minute dreaming of when I can retire and return to Vermont.
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy ya I grew up on long island ny but my grandmother owned a restaurant in stowe. VT was always the place I felt at home. My husband and 5 older brothers grew up in underhill and now raise our kids 3 miles down the road.
@@krististevens230 I almost could have waved at you this morning when I drove by!
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy lol did ya hear were getting a dispensary in Jeff? Lol
@@krististevens230 Hadn’t heard. I used to visit my Great Aunt Ruth Chase in Jeffersonville back in the day. She died at about 107 or 108, I think, the oldest living person in Vermont at the time. There were a lot of Chases around Cambridge once upon a time. You’ll see the name on gravestones in the cemeteries, and my ancestral family farm was in the area.
:D
Thank you, Diego!
I should show y'all the slate quarries of my home town, but I won't. There's a lot of Appalachia in Vt. never shown.
Very true, Gregory. There’s poverty in Vermont, for sure.
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy 100% free school lunch, Wells (not Wells River), Vermont.
Sad the people ruined such a beautiful state.
Hello, Anthony. I’m not sure what you mean by “ruined,” so I don’t know how to respond to that, but I can definitely agree about the natural beauty of Vermont. All the best!
Vermont!!! The most compliant vaccinated people on the entire planet!!! Thank you Vermont!!!
It’s a great state in many ways!
Tweed isnt real
