Next up Denali??? On a side note, shouldn't be too hard to get to the high point of Australia (Mt. Kosciuszko) since theres a simple trail all the way up. Good goal to have when you get to visit down under. Your High Point series inspired me to make at least two videos so far, covering the highest points of Australia and Denmark. The highest point of the Faroe islands looks pretty sick and is definitely on by bucket list.
The mountains of northern New England (and upstate New York) are a special place. What they lack in pure elevation they make up for with sheer ruggedness and insanely unique biomes. That sign you saw showed how it was only 3.1 miles to that state park, but it can be a grueling 3.1 miles, especially when it's as wet as it's been this summer. I'm impressed that you chose this as your first "big" mountain hike. It can be quite tough if you're not used to it and conditioned. You never know which wet rock your boot is suddenly going to slide on, and in my experience, those wet tree roots will invite you to step on them and then immediately try to throw you to the ground haha. Congrats on the high point! Looking forward to more of this content.
Mt Mansfield was my first high point! It’s a great view and if you enjoyed this then you’re going to love Mt Washington too. The mountains in the Northeast might not be as tall as out west, but the rocky challenging trails and the views make them just as awesome IMO 😊
Fun video! Different than the usual Geoguesser videos but very enjoyable. I had looked into that about 5 years ago when I was in Vermont but I’m way too incredibly out of shape to even attempt that. I usually do trails that are flat or very minor inclines but I wish I had the will power to push through a hike like that. Mad respect bro. My personal best was the main trail of Beacon Rock State Park in Washington along the Columbia River gorge area. But that only goes up like 900 feet and is mostly all just switchbacks and stuff for around a mile. That almost killed me but was worth it for the views. Looking forward to seeing your next journey.
Very cool - I am a big high point nerd. Black Mesa in the Oklahoma panhandle is the most underrated high point hike that I have done. I highly recommend if you get the opportunity someday. If you ever do that one, make sure you hike about 1/4 mile south of the high point marker to check out the view off the edge of the mesa into the Cimarron valley.
This was awesome! Really cool to get to experience this hike + the views without actually having to climb it myself lol. I love hiking, but man the uphill is brutal. Would love to see you do more of these! Also, quick tip: while not stylish, trekking poles might be a good investment in the future for any slippery parts. Saved me on my last hike when I needed to walk through a river

I've been to Mount Mitchell (NC) and Clingman's Dome (TN), but not the one in my own state that you've been to, Sassafras Mountain (SC), LOL. Many years ago I was going to go there on a date with a girl to climb and picnic, but that day it decided to monsoon, so we both said, "Nope" and went to Red Lobster instead.
the only high point that i have been to was the top of Mt. greylock in Massachusetts which was awesome, its a very scenic and easy drive pretty much to the top, and i'd recommend going during mid october so you get to see those colorful trees :)

Good choice of peaks too, for prominence, getting above the treeline, and being able to hike it in a day, but also not just drive up it.

Congrats on completing the lower 48! Burlington is a neat place, I've spent a couple months in that area. For the non-48 I still have Alaska left but want to road trip there. Would be cool to see all the various sights along the way.
Good video! As a regular hiker in the adjacent white mountains, I definitely cringed a bit at the jeans!!! Could definitely give a good hike for Washington, Katahdin, or Marcy if you’re ever back in the north-east!
Guadalupe Peak in Texas, A great place to start knocking out high points in the western US. A challenging day hike, but you don't have to worry about the altitude since it's lower than the other western highpoints. And you can do it in the winter when many other highpoints are inaccessible from snow.
Glad you had fun in VT! I live in NH but my parents live in VT so I visit a lot and love it so much :) Definitely experienced a true New England hike with all the boulders and tree roots!

Water on the trail: "This water looks so delicious, but I know people have been putting their feet in it, so I'm not going to drink it." I'm rolling on the floor. Well, you made it and were happy, so good for you. Next time bring water, an essential for any hiking. Drinking from puddles is a very bad idea, even if people have not put their "feet" in them.
Mount Katahdin in Maine is an absolute monster as well as being the state HP it is the terminus of the Appalachian trail. Mount Marcy in NYS is excellent too
Fun fact: Mt Mansfield and Ben Nevis are part of the same ANCIENT mountain range! Both the Appalachian mountain range in the US and the mountains in the Scottish Highlands were once part of the Central Pangean Mountains. They're some of the oldest mountains on Earth, and they were once as tall and pointy as Everest and the Himalayans!

i live right at the base of the mountain! i try to go up once every few weeks! such a good hike

Mt Marcy isn't too bad of a hike steepness wise, but it's 15 miles so it will take anywhere from 7-12 hours depending on your speed
