What do you think of Peyton Watson after his career high 17 point performance against the Thunder??

He can have the same type of influence for us off the bench that cb had last season

Really well done video. CB and P-Swat along with Reggie and Zeke, so far, looking like a far more impactful bench than last season. The League's gotta be nervous.

Agree, and a 4-man bench allows for more versatility and will keep the starters fresher than our previous 3-man bench come playoff time.

These rookie contracts are so valuable for a championship team. Doubt we will be able to extend all of them when the time comes, but that's a while from now.

Watson has really locked in and helps to make our bench terrifying. I was one of those guys who was saying we'd have no bench this year. I'm eating crow now and it's never tasted so good. He (and our 2nd unit) was amazing today against OKC. I'm psyched for him and our season right now.

Dame. I was wondering before the season if Bones Hyland’s attitude was really so bad they needed to trade him. Now I don’t have those thoughts. And I think Straw will come along as the season goes on. And hunter Tyson also.

The best training is the game - said 4 players in the Hall of Fame. Peyton Watson is a potential player who has NBA stars in him. He doesn't get a chance to play because of coach MM's complex. Many careers were destroyed by coach MM forcing and tolerating players at the end of their careers and players like MPJ who would not be a starter anywhere in the entire NBA... except for the Denver Nuggets, Peyton Watson must change clubs or he will be like Zeke N. - who gets time for the game if someone dies or gets injured, and that's in the place of the center and not the place where he can give his maximum.

Peyton is averaging 16.7 minutes this year and just under 21 over the last 9. He's getting good playing time

I been a big Pwat fan since his senior year of high school and lucky coincidence that he ended up on my ucla bruins, i was trynna tell everyone how good he could become, he's always been a defensive freak and had such a smooth looking offensive game, i knew it had to all come together soon. Glad the nuggets got him tbh it's the perfect place for him to develop.

I can't wait for more of the Braun-PWatt connection. My early prediction is they have a cool nickname for them by the end of the season. BOTH can defend. BOTH can slash/dunk. They're going to terrorize 2nd lineups.

He moves like a Panther cat.....honestly, he moves like a raw, untrained, unrestrained MJ.....he can jump and spring into action with explosive movement....he needs better control but he's young...I think he has immense potential...and it's his great fortune, that he finds himself with Denver: a perfect fit to develop, with everything he needs to be successful (on and off the court) w/o all the insanity you may find in other organizations and teams.

Great vid! I think Peyton's success really shows how well and consistently the Nuggets are able to develop and empower their draft picks and young players. With the only real exceptions being Bol bol and Emmanuel Mudiay. Because Jokic, Murray, Porter jr, and Braun are all home grown talent as well. Even a guy like Zeke Nnaji gives the Nuggets productive minutes. Just a great franchise

Depending on what MPJ does at the end of his contract, I'd love to see PWat fill in that SF role in a few years' time. Until then, I think he's going to show how versatile and cerebral of a player he can be.

Completely up to AG, KCP, and MPJ what they want to do at the end of their current deals, I won't be mad if they choose the Bruce Brown route and get the Max money while they can. I would hope they and their agents can warn Calvin so he can maximize their contracts before they want to leave, and so we aren't left with absolutely nothing if we can help it.

I'm loving the benches activity, the OKC game was really led by the big 3 but we got 33 up off the bench. I'm loving the depth, it feels like the nuggets could even have a 9-10 man lineup on their hands. Really hoping the work the christian and Peyton due will open things up for more activity from everyone else. Just an exciting start to the season and an excellent recap from the dropstep as always. Excited to see what you have in store too

CB and Peyton Watson remind me of John Salley and Dennis Rodman. Reggie Jackson is a streaky ball handler who reminds me of Vinny Johnson. And Zeke Nnaje reminds me of James Edwards, an athletic big who can play the backup C/PF and is an upgrade over Uncle Jeff.
I see the comparisons between the Nuggets bench and the Detroit Pistons Bad Boys bench. From what I understand, Brendan Malone, Coach Malone's father was the architect of that team's defense.

I feel like everyone's jumping the gun a bit on PWat. This stretch is a good peek at what it can look like if he puts it all together, but I'm expecting him to come back down to earth. But so far he's at least earning his minutes so he can keep developing, and I feel a lot better about him than I did after Summer League and preseason.

I don’t disagree but getting the minutes to raise or maintain 12-18 a game he’ll get to being more consistently impactful because if he not getting to do anything at competition intensity he and most of the younger guys won’t improve drastically. So the hype is good for now

i was literally blown by his performance last night. He looks like a bigger faster version of Bruce Brown. Christian Braun is better player currently than Jeff Green, and Reggie is also looking good. Denver actually has even better team now, and all guys from starting five have gotten better at playing defense. Elite elite team. Lets go Nuggers back to back.
