Use Apple's USB to Ethernet Adapter on a Windows Machine with drivers

I was trying out alternative ways to connect to the network from my PC and had an Apple USB to ethernet adapter laying around and thought i would just plug it in and get connected...Surprise!!!
In the process of troubleshooting and research came upon this solution.
Hope this helps someone, especially in this work-from-home season.

Every time I try to install the drivers it just says "Windows encountered a problem installing the drivers for your device" "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

It works and thanks for that but why is the speed capped at 100 mbps? My connection is 1000 mbps and I get 600-700 on wifi.
Is there a way to remove the cap?

Found the drivers for 1000mb on the site and then realized the adapter is capped at 100. Oh well Thanks!

hey man its probably too late but I got an error when I run diagnosis on the apple usb adapter that says: the network card " Ethernet 2" doesnt have proper IP protocol configuration. . Also, when i connect the ethernet cable to the apple usb the Ethernet 2 says the network is unidentified. Ethernet 2 stands for the apple usb adapter

Hi. This is not a driver issue but standard network troubleshooting. The issue is described in here softwarekeep.com/help-center/how-to-fix-unidentified-network-on-windows-10
Double check settings in advanced network settings. Set iP manually if you dont get an IP address. Setup your network as described and disable all other networks.
