What's New is definitely my favorite. I feel like this version struck a nice balance of being Smart but can still somewhat dispend her disbelief.

THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! THE TRANSITIONS, THE RESEARCH. THE LOVE. I found myself laughing SEVERAL times over and over again in the video. The mini meme's in between each ranking always caught me off guard. I LOVE this video and its one of your best ones to date!

I'd put Miccuci Velma on the lower ranking because Miccuci really doesn't do the character justice. She sounds like Daisy from Nature Cat, not the Velma I know from the 90s movies. Ward's voice is always the one I hear when I think of Velma Dinkley, because her performance was just excellent.

The pure sass of Mystery Incorporated Velma makes her one of my favorites, well when not dealing with her relationship with Shaggy (Marcie/Hot Dog Water was clearly the better option)
I completely understand. I took a poll over different Velma’s and a lotttt of people love mystery incs. Even if she is not my favorite, I still can see why she gets so much love. Her sassy lines are hilarious!

Agree one hundred percent, mystery incorporated was Velma at her best especially after the shaggy stuff ended and her and Marcy were really sweet broke my heart when that fricken bird shot her, so glad the reset brought her back
15:20 Our dad introduced Scooby Doo to us with that movie on VHS, and it had that music video at the beginning. I was invested in Velma's character, and I even rocked her fringe and curls when I was 12 in the 2010s.

Mindy kailing's Velma is far the worst version. All the others are good but I have to say the OG one is the classic, the pup named Scooby Doo was the cutest while the 4 movies are my top versions

A big issue I have is her confidence change with 21st century adaptations; she became the stereotypical insecure nerd, with bitterness to spare (save her WNSD era; she was just insecure there).
Yea I get that, I think she is the one who has changed the most, so I am still waiting for a version we can all confidently say we feel does her character justice!
@@TheShoogyShoo I feel like Shaggy and Scooby have been the most consistent in terms of characterization and Daphne has grown (save for some shallow moments), but Fred does seem less cool and intelligent, feeling a bit more goofy and less smart than previous incarnations starting around the 21st century. Both Velma and Fred feel poorly done now.

Only thing I disagree with is the last Velma, I would put her miles above HBO Max Original Velma and I never watched Scooby Do Get A Clue to have an opinion. And Daphe and Velma I wish it didn't exist.

I'd still put Mindy's Velma over Mystery Incorporated's because I get the feeling we're not SUPPOSED to be like "omg slay queen" whenever she's on screen like she's an INTENTIONALLY awful character. Maybe thre's some botched sympathy attempts but I feel like the intent is at the end of the day we're not SUPPOSED to agree with her. Wheras if we're supposed to disagree with Mystery Incorporated Velma, then yeah sure but at what cost? It's one thing to make an unlikeable character it's another to make a character that's just a passive agressive dick. And if we're supposed to AGREE with her then, idk that just leaves a bad taste in my mouth compared to every other Velma we were meant to like.
BUT YEAH this was a great vid and while Linda is always gonna be my fav I give a TON of respect to your top choices, GG man.

I don't like the (theatrical) Scooby live action movies but Velma was well characterized in those regardless. She's absolutely adorable in A Pup Named Scooby-Doo and I love her in the 1976 The Scooby-Doo Show. She's fine in the 90's animated films. She's a jerk for some reason in What's New Scooby-Doo.

Awesome video besides Scooby Velma has always been my favorite also glad to see more people liking HBO Velma ya the shows not perfect but its got merits and yes Velma being a dick is the biggest issue but she does become better by the half way point of season2 neck the entire gang does as does the shows over all guilty its still not perfect but so since season 2s come out I've watched it a couple of times, hoping if there is a 3rd season or at least a Halloween special they keep improving and make not so great Velma into the snarky smart mouth with a big brain and heart we all know and love good luck to Mindy hope she nails the landing

I don't think it is woke. I definetely think if we compare it to older versions then it seems woke to some people, but its a more updated version to fit modern times. Woker topics are just more norm now and I think people should give the show more of a chance@@Suryal

I think the main reason folks give the Hayley Kiyoko and Scoob versions a pass in contrast to the Mindy's Mysteries version is because they're, as the kids say, "White Passing enough."
That, and they came out during a time when the social political landscape wasn't as cancerous as it is today. Back when the complaints for the time was, "Why isn't Fred a blond? What's up with the CGI?" and, "Why didn't they get their current voice actors? They're still working, and available. Did they really have to break Frank Welker's streak of being the only guy to voice (adult) Fred?"

Velma may be pretty average in Scoob but Dynomutt is just downright awesome in that movie (easily the best incarnation of him).
Dynomutt has always been fun to see. I think I do like him to be a little goofier than blue falcon, but it was a fun thing to see them on the big screen no matter what!!!
@@TheShoogyShoo Personally, I would be fine with a spinoff movie starring that version of Blue Falcon and Dynomutt (where the personalities are pretty much swapped as it averts the dumb dog trope I'm so sick of). As much as I love goofy classic Dynomutt, I think the snarkier and more serious Dynomutt is infinitely cooler and I'd be down to see more of him.
I'm sure they planned to do something like that. Bill hader did a really good job voicing Dynomutt, gave it a likable snark

Actually, Velma's heritage has been part of her character. She's canonically Jewish. She listens to Jewish music and says oy vey in Mystery Incorporated, and Frankencreepy was all about her German heritage and was revealed they AMERICANIZED their surname from Von Dinklestein to Dinkley, in other words, they had to hide their culture because of anti-German sentiment and possibly antisemitism.
I'd say the same for Daphne. Daphne's Scottish and French heritage was deemed important enough to give her a movie (Loch Ness Monster), a TV episode in France (Ready to Scare)

@@TheShoogyShoo I gotta warn you, theres a couple seasons after Scrappy's first season(which in season one included the whole gang and a different Scrappy voice I wasnt fond of) that are tough to get thru because of the format change. Theres a stretch of about 99 seven minute episodes that just feature Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy where theres barely any mystery element and most of the time the monsters are real. It does rebound a little in the Scrappy and Yabba Doo shorts.
They bring things back around when Daphne comes back and the mystery element is brought back into the storylines Scrappy at that point had matured somewhat as a character and was more helpful in the mystery solving.
99 EPISODES OF THAT FORMAT IS CRAZY! I remember really liking the relunctant werewolf as a kid, so I am hoping it feels more likte that ya know?@@eddierascalhaskell4954

Mindy isn’t last. She actively despises playing the character. Ill take boring over someone who hates the character they have to play cause some execs made them be a reboot instead of an original show because execs these days refuse to take risks so everything gas to be a reboot or whatever

Sigh… I’m sry I have to say it: Velma Kaling was my favourite. The animations cool, I like the designs and I’m the type of person who finds the jokes funny. Also, I found this Velma to actually be quite relatable (Ik everyone will hate it but I will literally do a whole list backing her up on some of the things she did that were considered “evil”) as someone who is outcasted as well as being self aware mostly about my autism as well as existence overall and I compare almost everything to pop culture. Also in my school, everyone’s an a-hole and I was also 15 like the character when the show first came out
Aye you're always welcome here! I still like the Velma show, I agree its pretty funny. I actually think Fred is hilarious in the show even if he is so drastically different. I relate to pop culture too. If it wasn't for bands and cartoons, I think my body would melt!

I gave it a fair shot and didn’t hate it! I don’t think it’s perfect, but I enjoyed my time. I would rather watch Velma then a boring animated show
