Thank you Mike! Unfortunately I don't have an opportunity to travel as much as you do. But I have a great feeling of appreciating this memorable moments as if I were traveling with you.
We LOVE going to the Hilton Hawaiian Village! Great Luau show, awesome beach and Lagoon. You HAVE to get some Honolulu cookies shipped home [if you dont ship it, you will eat them all before you go home!] and specifically Kona Mountain Coffee...not just Kona coffee, Kona Mountain is the brand. They have a shop at the Hawaiian Village.
Great job with the shirt! Simple and tasteful. Not overly loud or obnoxious. Very Handsome. It always rains in December in Hawaii. It's the rainy season 🙂
I was born and raised on Kauai and I can tell you that it rains a lot and is super unpredictable. Also most locals are nice and chill because it's just the laid back island attitude.
When i was in Hawaii it would rain for about a half hour and then stop. But, all in all, its better to be there rain or shine; it is a beautiful state.
Hey, I live in Kaneohe, the other side of the giant mountains your lanai looks over. That side is RAIN. Also, rain is Hawai'i's snow. So every 'winter' it rains. Just for a mental note.
FIRST TIME WATCHER! YOU WERE IN MY SUGGESTIONS AND IVE BEEN BINGE WATCHING ALL YOUR VLOGS, I MUST SAY YOUR VLOG STYLE/EDITING IS VERY REFRESHING AND I AM ENJOYING BOTH THE LIGHT-HEARTED AND HEAVIER TONES OF YOUR VIDEOS. CHEERS!
If you like beaches, don't go to waikiki beaches. Also if your staying in waikiki, don't spend too much time there because all those stores aren't the way to spend your time here. If you have the time, travel to North Shore, the beaches there are worth it. Also go try some malasadas.
Hey mikey i know this was shot a year ago but where u in san jose before going to hawaii i recognized the airport and that industrial complex with the flag on it. Its just cool to see my hometown in one of your vlogs😅
Mikey heard your voice to the right of me and looked over to see my 17 yr old watching your "Beyond Science" channel never even knew he watched you!!! I'm in my 30's so that just shows you how broad your audience is! keep up the good work!
How wonderful you are in my homestate. Chinese are more Jungsan and Cantonese. Food so different in Hawaii. Dim sums are more rustic for local style ones. What popular are okazuya type for take out.
I was stationed in Schofield Barracks in '05. Now I live in the SF Bay Area (Fremont) lol. Forget the shirts, it's all about the shorts! Board shorts and Reef flip flops. After that, you're all good
Got to try some spicy ahi poke bowl at Ono seafood on Kapahulu Ave right outside of waikiki. Spam musubi at a 7-11 Ramen at Agu Ramen The pig and the lady has trendy fusion food in downtown honolulu Waiola shave ice Enjoy Hawaii
Hawaiian Food - Elena's Garlic Shrimp - Giovanni's Shrimp Truck (2 trucks one in Haleiwa and other in Kahuku - Cash Only!) Must eat poke raw fish!!! Many locations with very good poke. Fresh Catch, Bangga, Taniokas (has so much more plus bentos!), or even Foodland! And so much more. Want to try a buffet? One of my favorites is 100 Sails in The Prince Waikiki Hotel. All their seafood and raw fish tastes so Fresh! Homemade ice cream? "Scoop of Paradise" in Haleiwa Dole Whip from Plantation Dole home of the fresh Pineapple from Hawaii And there's so much more but that's all I can think of! Must venture out of Waikiki to Haleiwa/North Shore Side and Kailua for more "touristy" things Just started to watch you this past month. Sorry if you have eat these things, I just haven't caught up yet.
Must try/visit places: 1. North Shore (especially the shrimp trucks). Haleiwa is a great little town and Waialua Bakery up there has phenomenal sandwiches. 2. Marukame Udon in Waikiki. It's originally from Japan, but it's a quick/cheap place. Line gets crazy long during peak hours but moves quickly. 3. Ala Moana Mall. Yeah it's another mall, but it's the largest outdoor mall in the nation. Shirokiya is a Japanese marketplace within the mall which is fantastic. 4. Kailua/Kaneohe aka Windward Side. Don't go to Boots & Kimos since it's overrated but try Crepes No Ka Oi. There's tons of good Japanese/Asian cuisine in Honolulu too, especially ramen. Have fun!
Love da video and love Hawaii brah. I miss the beautiful island. I was stationed in oahu in kaneohe bay in the marines. Love the people, music and nature. If you get the chance, you have to try Kailua pig and manapua. Them be the kind grinds bruh. Aloha and mahalo for bringing back some good memories \m/
Nice choice in the shirt! Can't go wrong w/ turtles & palm trees :) my one visit to Hawaii was in 2011 and we stayed at the Equus that was near the Hilton on Waikiki. It's a nasty lil hotel haha! We spent most of our time walking thru the Hilton shops...they have macaws just hanging around! Have fun there! I'm gonna check out your strictly Dumplings vid on Helena's.
Cool robot. Wonder if this is a recent addition to the airport. I was at the San Jose airport in Sept and they didn't have that. Cool. Have fun in Hawaii. Went to Honolulu and Maui in 2010 and had a great time. You should go skydiving :). Great views
Little tip, weather is most likely wrong. When I went it said rain for the whole week I was there for, only rained on the first and last day, and it rained when I was on the plane.
Interesting and entertaining video. I suspect your Luau will be (was) fine. My experience with the rainy season in Hawaii is that it would rain, sometimes very hard, for a couple hours each afternoon. But by evening and night the skies are clear again. You chose a great looking Hawaiian shirt. It is not anywhere near as garish as they are typically. It could almost pass for those nice formal shirts Filipino men wear instead of suits.
Welcome to Hawaii! Hope these foods are also on your "MUST EAT" list: shave ice (from Your Kitchen), malasadas (from Leonard's or Kam Bakery -- esp the POI malasadas!), poke (from Da Hawaiian Poke Co), fried garlic chicken (from Mitsu-Ken)
OK it been years, but the best meal I've had on Ohau was from a food truck back in 2002, that's was before the food truck craze. It was known as the white shrimp truck at the north shore. $8 for some of the best shrimps and rice dish I've ever had, even better then those in Orlean. The spiciest version will put hair on your chest. Haven't been back to see if it's still there. So if you're heading to Waimea, keep an eye out for the truck.
hey mike, check out the crane, evolution or smooth by zhiyun. ask them if they can send a gimbal out to you for review. they will stop the camera shakes.
i've been marathoning all of your food and flight videos... i haven't being commenting tho lol :D but this made me crave hawaiian food soooo bad!!!! authentic hawaiian food is SO freaking good... duno if you ate it yet but hope you had spam musubi !!!!
Nice shirt, you can't show up to a luau in a regular shirt, so the "Aloha Shirt" is a must. I think I might have stayed in that same room or one like it, except I had a mountain/ocean view. I was fascinated by the view into the bathroom from the bedroom area. This Hilton Waikiki Beach hotel also has a restaurant downstairs that was featured in Tripe D, known for huge pancakes but unfortunately poor service.
Hey! What is the name of the ice cream place you went to? 8:28 Also, don't be surprised: it's rainier during the winter months :P Glad you enjoyed your time in Oahu!
Aloha & welcome to my island of oahu! dont forgot to try musubi!!!!! the number one hawaii's favorite munchies. Did you know that pineapple cookie that you ate is very expensive! If you still at Hilton Waikiki Beach you must check at Lappert's ice cream in the first floor the same hotel! Trust me. good luck!
Hi Mike Chen. It will be the first time ever leaving my country to fly to Hawaii Oahu. Just needed to know what is the best restaurants or all you can eat places in Oahu Hawaii?

Richard Mcginnis 75th Anniversary this Wednesday, big things, concerts, presentations etc.
Richard Mcginnis --- Don't forget the 2 hour wait to get on a boat to go out to the memorial.
Dwight Turner unless you wanna get there at 7:30 you don’t have to wait I got there early and had a 30 minute wait
Thank you Mike! Unfortunately I don't have an opportunity to travel as much as you do. But I have a great feeling of appreciating this memorable moments as if I were traveling with you.
9:55 that transition was sick!
Going to Hawaii this winter, so excited.

It was nice to watch this video as I will be travelling from Australia to Honolulu in early January 2017.
If you like beaches, don't go to waikiki beaches. Also if your staying in waikiki, don't spend too much time there because all those stores aren't the way to spend your time here. If you have the time, travel to North Shore, the beaches there are worth it. Also go try some malasadas.
That's one of the prettiest Hawaiian shirts ever. You have great taste Mike. 🌺🌺
Hawaiian Airlines totally rocks. You feel like you are in the islands the moment you board.
Hey mikey i know this was shot a year ago but where u in san jose before going to hawaii i recognized the airport and that industrial complex with the flag on it. Its just cool to see my hometown in one of your vlogs😅
Hawaii on my bucket list.
I have been to Hawaii four times. I was utterly amazing. Have a pleasant stay. Take care of yourself. Andrea

When in Oahu, I always go for the Leonard's Malasadas, Ono seafood poke and Giovanni shrimp truck. Give them a try, you won't regret it!
I Love the Hawaian shirt you picked out.....
I was stationed in Schofield Barracks in '05. Now I live in the SF Bay Area (Fremont) lol. Forget the shirts, it's all about the shorts! Board shorts and Reef flip flops. After that, you're all good
I was in Waikiki about 3 or 4 weeks ago and I loved it hope I get to go back someday
I love his shirt! Its actually nice looking.
it is called an Aloha shirt...
That Pleasonton you live in? Looks like the East Bay to me where you always take off from. I'm from Tracy.
Got to try some spicy ahi poke bowl at Ono seafood on Kapahulu Ave right outside of waikiki.
Spam musubi at a 7-11
Ramen at Agu Ramen
The pig and the lady has trendy fusion food in downtown honolulu

I'm sooooo jealous that's my dream vacation spot . Hope u out had an awesome time even though it rained 😄
Oh man I was just walking by Hilton Waikiki beach 2 weeks ago haha.
Little tip, weather is most likely wrong. When I went it said rain for the whole week I was there for, only rained on the first and last day, and it rained when I was on the plane.
Also, Moana Surfrider. So far the best food lounge at a hotel I've ever had. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided.
are you going to do a first class trip by the end of the year?
Interesting and entertaining video. I suspect your Luau will be (was) fine. My experience with the rainy season in Hawaii is that it would rain, sometimes very hard, for a couple hours each afternoon. But by evening and night the skies are clear again.
You chose a great looking Hawaiian shirt. It is not anywhere near as garish as they are typically. It could almost pass for those nice formal shirts Filipino men wear instead of suits.
oh my goodness! you are living in the Bay Area? i saw my hwy 87 to Mineta Airport! Aloha!
Awesome Mike! I'm going this summer!
Come to the Philippines. You will find lots of awesome food for sure. Like the best roasted pig or lechon.
@Mickey Chen, for someone traveling often. When you rent a car in the US, do you get the rental car insurance when you rent the car?
Mikey, flew out of SJC? Going to Hawaii Oct. 2017. Bought tickets already. Also flying from SJC. All excited.
Did you get lei'd?

Great video. I love going to Hawaii. BTW! Did it snow while you were there? I know, not at the beach, but up in the mountains they got hit hard.
He's on Oahu, a completely different island. No snow where he is.
hey mike, check out the crane, evolution or smooth by zhiyun. ask them if they can send a gimbal out to you for review. they will stop the camera shakes.
i've been marathoning all of your food and flight videos... i haven't being commenting tho lol :D but this made me crave hawaiian food soooo bad!!!! authentic hawaiian food is SO freaking good... duno if you ate it yet but hope you had spam musubi !!!!
