I really liked the fact that Mysterio's team has person whose job is literaly to come up with pseudo science and ridicilous backstories. Stories that, I quote Mysterio here "People for some reason absolutely believe"
Honestly, this villain got super dark, super fast. Manipulating illusions so that someone else can't tell if what's real or not is a fucking intense power. Kinda funny how for years I thought Mysterio was a no-go for the movies. It must've been the fishbowl helmet. They really did a great job here.
EloquentTiger they kinda used his ridiculous helmet as an advantage in here. It helped to obscure him for the illusion and stood out enough for you to believe that he is some alien hero fighting to save the earth. It’s cartoony and weird, and that was the goal here. Clever
@@frankwest5388 Exactly. I like how they lampshade how Mysterio's fake backstory is ridiculous but simultaneously explains his costume design to the world in and out of the movie
His illusions are like a more emotionally complex version of Wanda’s vision manipulation. Not only are your worst nightmares happening in your head, but you have to actually see them consciously.
what sold that scene for me was Peter's next line, "You can't fool me anymore." It's just the way Tom said it. It wasn't like a bond line. It wasn't matter of factly. It's said with a mix of confidence and sorrow. It's "I beat you, but I really wanted you to not be the guy I had to beat."
I loved that moment too. Spider-Man characteristically hates fighting his villains, as they are often people he either knows personally or wants to help. Peter's sorrow at being betrayed really underscored that central aspect of his character to always want to see the best in people, and being hurt when he can't help someone come back from the dark side. Beck felt like the next Tony Stark to him, and with Tony gone I think Peter unintentionally tried to fill that void with this charming, good natured guy he's just met because he was desperate to have Tony back in his life. That left Beck open to play him like a fiddle, and manipulate his emotions, which in turn taught Peter an important lesson about loss and trust.
@@Bad_At_Parties Mysterio didn't manipulate Peter at all. He just presented himself as an Iron Man level superhero. Peter didn't care about Edith and Tony's legacy. The glasses were lost on the dirty bar floor. Mysterio just asked Peter what he wanted. And he gave up the keys of the kingdom with super quickness. He did all the mental gymnastics required, offered the glasses as his own idea and with his own free will, then scurried off care free to be with MJ. Mysterio only conned him into thinking he was the real deal. Peter just was naturally inclined to dump his responsibility on _anyone_ who fit the description. Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel... Mysterio. This Spider-Man was super-selfish and irresponsible.
the first illusion fight with mysterio may be my favorite part of the whole movie. it jsut shows how far we have come in terms of cgi. it still does not beat thanos throwing asteroids at tony on titan but it's up there.
One thing I love about the MCU Spider-Man is what they've done with characters that are usually cheesy like Vulture and Mysterio, bringing them to the big screen for the first time and in an amazing way
Number One is Spider-Man 2 for being a fun action flick with good action and moments Number Two is Spider-Verse for bringing something fresh to both animation and Spidey And Three is Far From Home for also being a fun action flick with some great moments Not a big fan of Raimi’s Spidey 1
I loved the second half of Far From Home. Mysterio was the highlight of the movie. Apparently the next movie will be very different to all other Spidey films, looking forward to that!
In my opinion, I loved the first half because it was fun. Sure, some of the humour didn’t land, but I liked it. However, it pails in comparison to the second half.
Cool edgy MJ didn't grab me (good or bad, just meh) until that scene on the bridge. She was so adorably awkward and dorky, you really got to see behind the facade. It's different, and that's okay! As much as I love the Raimi movies, personally I found the Raimi MJ a bit of a wet blanket, damsel in distress boring and stereotypical.
If u anything about spiderman other than movies..u would have known these two mjs are different characters 🤦 in MCU it's Michelle. So it's not even worth comparing
@Marvelous Maker I mean, he already knew that. MJ in the MCU is basically Michelle yes but we don’t even know if we’ll get the Redheaded MJ(something I wouldn’t mind either way) that we mainly know. I don’t get your comment, the guy literally only said he likes MCU MJ more(I believe, correct me if I’m assuming) and that’s it.

@@ajwsings From when I saw that scene my thought of how it affected the story was that Peter was starting to feel guilty over Tony's death, trusting Mysterio and when he saw MJ in the illusion taken away it seemed like he felt he could not save her or anyone else and then after he left from the Netherlands he was'nt sure of what or who was real and what's not,Once he starts to have his talk with Happy, Peter starts feel less pressure and steps up into his own mantle as a hero and motivates him to go off to protect his friends and defeat Mysterio.
I love how all the people who say the suit does all the work ignore the fact that peter used the homemade suit for the final act of homecoming to show he was more than the suit
crunchy, apparently and also, Peter did not use EDITH at all during the final battle and sure he built his suit using Tony’s tech but honestly, if he didn’t, he would’ve been killed. Peter had no help from Tony at all and EDITH was no help other than to stop the drones, which was for 1 second
Yeah, and in Far From Home Spider-Man beat Mysterio by himself with his skills and ingenuity. The most Stark Tech used in the film are the Taser Webs and that's it, after his webs run out it's Peter Parker and his abilities who beat Mysterio. And oh yeah, Raimi Tards (I prefer the name Tobey Tards because alliteration) are easily the most toxic part of Spider-Man or even Superhero community.
Thing is, the suit barely even does anything apart from have fancy stuff that peter doesn’t quite know how to use. And even if he does rely on tech, he is the one controlling it, he just has to use it right. People act like he’s invincible

One thing people have to remember is yeah shes MJ but she isn't Mary jane she's a completely different character so people have no right to be upset since they expect her to be Mary jane but she isnt
Fun fact, if you play Spider-Man PS4 now, in the Spider-Man: Far from Home upgraded suit, the badguys will be like "Hey, I thought you said he was on vacation!" Pretty cool nod to the movie.
What I liked about MJ in this film was when and how she showed her emotional, more sensitive side instead of just being the awkward nerd. And it showed that only Peter could make her open up and express herself more. I think Zendaya did an awesome job on that!
The Juicing of the Cactus exactly. It’s as though they shrugged off that whole arc which was even present in Far From Home too. It’s as though they don’t watch the movies and say “Oh well it’s not Maguire so it’s fucking garbage”
EShooter yes it does. His neighborhood in friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is queens and NYC. There was a giant alien space ship over it. He’s not gonna ignore it when his mentor is getting his ass kicked by aliens in Central Park. Refusing to run recon and different missions with the Avengers is different then helping out when the world is about to end.
FFH was almost a perfect movie for me. I was never bored, due to it's GREAT pacing. The action was fantastic, the villain was executed so well, and it's connection to other MCU movies is incredible.
Oluf Tafdrup Yup. IMO I believe it was the BETTER movie compared to endgame. Of course, I liked endgame more but FFH is better with its pacing and plot.
I couldn't put my finger on exactly why I loved this movie so much but your comment made me realize. It was the pacing The pacing of this movie is fantastic and unfortunately that is not something many of the marvel films share.
@randy K15 Doesn't matter. General consensus is that the pacing rocks. You're one grain of salt in an ocean of comments, nobody cares if you thought it sucked.
@@superfly2535 even if he`s really dead, this closes an arc established right at the moment EDITH (Even Dead I`m The Hero) is introduced, was a clever way for Tony to say to the world that even dead, he was the hero, his final legacy, it makes sense for a character like Tony Stark, and since Peter told Beck to become the new Iron Man, the arc concludes as he does become Iron Man, because even though he died, at the eyes of the public, HE`S the hero.
I was absolutely shocked by how good FFH was! I had low expectations for a movie that seemingly had so much packed into it, only for it to turn out to be fake, or a play at how "people will believe anything." The audience was able to feel what Spider-Man felt; his betrayal, and the feeling of being fooled. Marvel did an amazing job at tying the movie's message into the audience's experience. Now let's talk about Mysterio. Mysterio is by far my favorite Marvel villain (if not my favorite villain in general). I don't know what it was about him, but Jake Gyllenhaal's portrayal of him was so incredibly and surprisingly satisfying. I left the theater feeling genuinely happy with what the movie had to offer, while also being shocked and excited about the post credit scenes. I'm not a comic book reader, nor do I plan to become one, but I know that this movie should've pleased most long-term Marvel fans. 10/10.
Completely agree. I was worried how they’d play with Mysterio, as most people watching will not buy that he might be a good guy for even one second, but the knowledge that he is the bad guy makes the scene where Spider-Man gives him the glasses so intense and harrowing.
Zaya Moone FFH was easily one of my favourite Spider-Man movies ever next to Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 2 because let’s face it it’s a classic. The plot is great, bringing in a classic villain like mysterio was also very smart in my opinion, and I just loved it. Tom Holland plays a fantastic Peter and deserves all the praise he gets. I will forever say it, Tobey Maguire made Spider-Man cool and nailed every part of Peter’s character, but Tom Holland makes me love him. Literally no complaints with this movie at all!😊
I hate the criticism about mysterios motivation/character being tied to Ironman. Like the original comic motivation is that he’s a movie visual effects artist that got fired and was salty about it. The mcu spin they put on it is perfect for the mcu and makes total sense.
Amal Pushparaj none of them are employees of stark, people think vulture was, but he wasn’t. He lost his job because of stark. And he didn’t want revenge against stark, he just wanted to be left alone to do his shady shit. Mysterio wanted to basically dance on tonys grave and take his place.
hamhockbeans yeah but like that scene was an entire choreographed scene with dialogue and effects and shit, they can’t have gone to that length just for a trailer scene
@@ronniebaker6843 That can happen, trailers are made before the final edits of a film since trailer cuts can get scenes before a movie is fully complete. In editing, scenes can get cut to help with pacing.
My favorite scene was when it is revealed that Mysterio is a villain .. When he says 'that wasn't so hard' after getting EDITH .. man that made me angry on the character which is a good thing according to me

What new places is he being pushed? Wtf you mean comic Peter parker made his own suit, actually loved and mentioned Uncle Ben which this one does not, the best part about MCU Peter Parker is when he is in suit, out of it he is a reactive character not proactive.
MysteryBounty did...did you miss the ENTIRE SCENE in Far From Home dedicated to Peter designing and constructing his own suit? That argument doesn’t work anymore bud. I’ll give you Uncle Ben, but in my opinion he’s the prime motivator for Peter BECOMING a hero, not the prime motivator in all storylines going forward. So it’s not necessary to have him in all Spider-Man stories. And he’s not proactive when he’s not in the suit? That’s just straight up false. There are a several scenes in Far From Home where he goes after things when he’s not in the suit. He pursues his interest in MJ tirelessly throughout the film. And if that’s not enough to be considered “proactive,” you could make the same argument about Tobey and Andrew’s Spider-Men too, btw. “They only react to the villains or the struggles in their lives”. So? That’s what most of us do, as humans.
grayson which boggles my mind because Peter has received technology from other people in nearly ALL his iterations. Whether it’s Doc Ock, Doc Connors, Osborn, Horizon Labs, or Tony Stark, he receives help and tech in a TON of his stories. The only one that he doesn’t is the Raimi films, which opted to COMPLETELY ignore the technological side of the character. Doc Ock LITERALLY designed peters new suit in PS4, and yet NOBODY complained about that the same way they complain about MCU Spider-Man. It’s this weird double standard about the MCU interpretation.
The Nameless same! I’ve always loved when it started with Antmans subatomic scene then to Dr. Strange. It was awesome seeing the illusion sequence in theater!

Mysterio is the best villain in the MCU. Change my mind. Finally we get a guy who is just a bad dude. His motivations? Totally selfish. Caring about the people? No chance. Respect for the man who beat him? Nope, I'll get the last laugh. Mysterio is a 'character', even as Quentin Beck. And that's true to the comics. He's larger than life because that's what Beck always wanted: to be seen, to be noticed. And he's dangerous. Oh man is he dangerous. Accepting for a second the low odds of him fooling actual Fury, he still duped Talos, an actual shapeshifter. Even after his position as a supervillain is revealed, something he was desperate to avoid at all costs, and arguably his greatest strength (his anonymity) was lost, he still manages to dominate spiderman in a fight by manipulating him completely. Hell, even when Spiderman builds his own suit, comes up with a counterplan, takes Mysterio by suprise and even uses his most overpowered superpower to its fullest, Mysterio still wins. Fight me on that too. Now Mysterio is known the world over as a hero. Spiderman is someone desperate for Iron Man's position, and willing to kill as a result, whilst being in control of the most military might on the planet. Oh yeah, and he's a high schooler. It's everything he wanted. And he got it. Compare that to Toomes, who's still in jail. Mysterio is he villain who actually WINS.

A lot of people compare HiTop and Midnight (more Midnight to be honest) to the Cosmonaut Variety Hour. He, apart from his controversial Raimi video that still has more likes than dislikes, has pretty agreeable opinions. He actually finds a lot of the MCU kind of mediocre, which I respect. He obviously has read his fair share of comics (not like the others haven't), and knows his shit. He said in his ASM and Spider-Verse reviews that he tries to look at things from a comic perspective AND a movie perspective. HiTop seems to be missing the mark a tiny bit. I watched his video (I cringed) and I couldn't quite put my finger on the point he was trying to make. I'm sick of "blah blah Raimi this, blah blah Raimi that". HiTop seemed to be trying to balance the two genres like Cosmonaut, but the scales kept tipping in one direction or another, both times being completely negative. It's hard to take seriously someone who doesn't know the point they are trying to make. Cosmonaut bases his reviews by saying what he liked, then what he didn't like. Not what could've been better (most of the time, but for REALLY shitty things he proposes better ideas) He then finishes his videos by giving a score, of which most of the MCU got like a 6-7/10. I watch and subscribe to people who cover all bases. I don't subscribe to people that are quite narrowminded.
Some people are simply impossible to please. Anyone that’s using the whole Iron Man thing as a reason to not like these Spider Man movies needs to just stop. There isn’t a single superhero movie ever made that is 100% accurate to the comic books. So what if his Spidey suit is high tech Stark equipment. In order for Spider-Man to do all sorts of different things with his webs (like he’s always done in comics) then it needs to be pretty advanced. And it doesn’t make much sense that he’d be capable of creating his suit without Starks tech. It’s not like he’s flying around firing missiles like he’s Iron Man... The fact that I’m even having to defend this is ridiculous.
@@bungski2234 Don't forget Spider-Man 2 and The Dark Knight Aka a bunch of whiny nerds who value movies mostly for the nostalgia than the actual content I honestly rank FFH above Spider-Man 2...

4:15 The convenient fact that all the gang were snapped in the blip had a really nice subtle nod in Infinity War. When they're on the school bus and Peter asks the fat friend for a distraction, and he then sees the donut spacecraft and says "oh God _WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE"._ In hindsight it's pretty blatant.
I also love how people are calling out this for being convenient but didn’t find it a little convenient that all of the OG avengers from the first one just happened to stay alive for endgame lol
I don't even think it's that convenient that they all got snapped. When you have a group as big as half the literal universe for the snap to affect, it's not even that unlikely that they all got snapped.
"The humour comes from the characters, not just a cheap gag" Flashbacks to the teacher bumbling around taking a photo and dropping his camera at Venice
Or peter yelling “GUYS LOOK, A BABY GOAT!” And everyone dramatically turns around long enough for peter to do a backflip out of the bus and destroy a drone
I feel like the teacher bumbling around fit his character. Earlier in the movie it was kinda established that he was a weirdo, with his wife having left him etc, so it fit his character
What I loved was the fact that he was finally independent in this movie. Sure, his new suit is still made with Stark tech, but still, *he made it himself.* No one built this new suit for him, he finally got to make his own gear.

SebasTheNerd HiTopsFilms makes great videos, has a lot of awesome ideas, and is obviously a very passionate fan. That being said, he’s super nitpicky and enjoying his videos is such a hit or miss for me. His Far From Home video comes off more as someone who just wants MCU Peter to be a direct rip from the comics which was obviously not the case almost right away as he was introduced as a hero that is almost Tony Stark’s sidekick. Yet he still wants him to return to being a more faithful depiction but that’s just not what he is. TLDR; Alex needs to learn how to have fun with a different take on the character.
Even though I enjoyed Homecoming, I thought Far From Home was a far better film. I absolutely loved Spider-Man: Far From Home. It was so different from Homecoming, and I liked that one, but this one is just so good. It was very creative and that illusion scene was amazing!!
With Spider-Man’s unique, yet highly underrated character arc within the MCU, it’s becoming more and more apparent how both those two films are heavily based on the early works of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko’s Spider-Man comics in showing the different phases Peter has as he grew up In Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Peter was still a boy. He’s already been through the major life-changing turn of events earlier that year such as the radioactive spider bite that granted him superpowers, and the death of his uncle due to Peter’s selfishness that haunts the shit out of him to this day and ultimately drove him to the path of heroism. But this time around, after his scene-stealing appearance in Civil War where he met all of his favorite superheroes for the first time, we’re exploring the life of Peter Parker and his overall character. He's going around solving low level crimes, he's immature, impatient, childish, and relatively new to everything. His double life as Spider-Man isn't dramatic, it's therapeutic and it’s comedic. He keeps losing his backpack, he gets caught in his Spidey suit, his shenanigans lead him to getting detention, and had his tech suit taken away, which is equivalent to a parent taking away their kid’s phone. The world is constantly beating him to his knees and his sense of self worth as a superhero is based on the Avengers (mostly Tony Stark). It isn't until he's in the rubble that he starts to look inward calling on his strength as Spider-Man to save himself because he isn't defined by a fancy suit, he's defined by his actions. It’s where he truly becomes Spider-Man In Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Peter is starting to fully transition out of boyhood and becomes a young man. He has let go of his first crush and has moved onto a new love he finds in MJ, not because of how she looks or vague descriptions of her just being "the best", but because he likes who she is as a person. He is now in a world where the heroes are scattered as the Avengers appear to be disbanded after the 5 year gap and the events of Endgame. But he's still trying to hold onto a few things by looking for some other hero to look up to so he can have guidance. He has grown out of his desire to be in the big leagues because he's seen the kind of struggle that brings, and his self doubt makes him feel like he isn't up to the challenge. He isn’t quitting being Spider-Man out of fear, he is just trying to remain the rookie he was when Tony first recruited him because the times were much simpler back than (we've all had moments when we wish we could go back to being kids, less responsibilities, etc). It isn't until he learns Mysterio is a fraud and is given words of affirmation from Happy regarding the pedestal the world (Peter included) put Tony on, that he rises to the challenge and proves his capabilities not only to others, but to himself. Happy basically explains to Peter Parker that the superheroes that he idolizes (specifically Stark) have flaws and imperfections as well. Tony Stark was flawed, fallible, and struggles with self-doubt much like Peter. The whole point of “the next Iron Man” thing isn’t for Peter to literally become Iron Man, but they want to make Spider-Man as popular of a superhero as Iron Man once was. Kevin Fiege is building Spider-Man up to be the greatest superhero the MCU has ever seen. Spider-Man will create a legacy of his own that’ll eventually overshadow Captain America and Iron Man’s legacies. That’s what the whole movie is about. Iron Man was the face of the MCU, and now Spider-Man is the new face of the MCU. He wasn't alongside other heroes facing the drone army, he was on his own, he used his own intuition, and his own natural superpowers bested upon him from that fateful spider bite to defeat Mysterio and save the day, reigning absolutely victorious. From what we can see in this year’s Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), Peter's life is becoming more and more dramatic. The consequences he faces have gone from detention to being framed for murder. His double life is now becoming more conflicting as he tries to hang onto the few good things he's gotten (I have a feeling the end of the movie will have Strange complete the spell properly and the entire world forgets his identity, including his friends and Aunt May). He even starts to step away from saying "sir" because he is no longer the rookie. He has proven his worth and his place among the hero community, he is facing bigger enemies, and he is facing it alone (for the most part). There is a clear arc for MCU Peter as we watch him grow from a boy to a (Spider-) man. And it’s annoying as hell when people call him “Iron Boy Jr” just because Spidey wasn’t in his prime (physically and mentally) immediately after becoming Spider-Man. While I disagree with some changes they made with the character, I freaking love MCU Spider-Man. His character arc is just awesome to me. Marvel & Sony are actually taking their time to develop their Spider-Man into the Spider-Man we know and love. And depending on how No Way Home performs this Christmas, we can be assured that his fun hero adventures will continue in his possible second trilogy.
This aged nicely. Its nice to see someone else was paying attention to what Marvel was doing with Spider-Man. If Peter is already "Spider-Man" at 16 years old..then the writers have failed us.
Another amazing movie I can't wait to see again! I honestly have trouble picking between Homecoming and Far From Home, they're both my favorite mcu movies
They’re awesome movies, but nothing will ever dethrone Endgame, followed by infinity war. Those two will be my personal best movies since movies exist.
Why? HiTop literally said that he’s okay with and respects peoples opinions about the movie. Gotta love how quickly people love to instigate drama/fights.
1Dreamking They need more teamup movies that are separate from solo and Avengers movies. Like, having movies dedicated to specific characters teaming up like that.
(And they could play with the fact that they fought against eachother in Cap: Civil War. Well not the Wasp but... She could be more like the "grown up" in the team with Ant-Man and Spider-Man trying to outwit eachother with jokes etc) And ofc we get a good reason to see Luis again!!! (Michael Peña)
Something I think people need to keep in mind when criticizing that the MCU Spider-Man isn't the same as the Spider-Man they know from the comics or animated series: He's not supposed to be. This movie isn't trying to remake the same 616-Universe Spider-Man in a movie. Technically, the MCU is another universe in the Marvel Multiverse, Universe-199999 specifically (Mysterio was technically right when he was bluffing about the existence of a multiverse, but wrong about which number they were in; 616 is the main comics). Which means that like the Ultimate Universe, or like any of the other alternate realities, it's a different take on the character. It's similar, and is based on the original version to varying degrees, but it's not trying to be the same. People didn't complain that the versions of Spider-Man in Into the Spider-Verse were different from the comics, because you understand that it's an alternate version, a character from another universe where things happened differently. Tom Holland Spider-Man is just as much an alternate version as Jake Johnson's version in Spider-Verse, or even Miles Morales, and I think that if people keep that in mind and don't worry as much about how it's bad because it's different, but rather look at how it's differences makes it interesting, they'd have a better view of the movie.
I think for character like superman, batman and spiderman, that have been interpreted in many ways, they have to keep it fresh and difference itself from another , it's not coincidance that we see different version of superman, batman and spiderman from comic version and yet they still have the core of the character and that's what i think what's matter the most.
Drew Forchic The same could be said about many other movies. Batman Vs Superman, X-men Origins, Batman and Robin, Thor Ragnarok, Elektra. You can stray too far from the source, unless that means you are making a good movie. Dark Knight, X-Men Days of Future Past, Spider-Man 2, Logan. As far as I’m concerned, Tom Spidey is still being irresponsible, and he’s inaccurate to the comics.
He shouldn't though. It goes against an important part of his character. His independence. Not being tied to a bigger superhero. Being his own superhero and being a self made hero rather than trying to be like another hero.
@@dumbspideyfanboi9060 The MCU had to find some way to introduce him into the MCU. The fact that he is inspired by Tony Stark and it's pretty evident that he wants to be like him. Homecoming fully embraces that. But Tony wanted him to be better than him. Also, would you rather have no Spider-Man in such an amazing franchise or another Sony reboot? I think that you'll like his character better in the final movie without Tony Stark. He's on his own, and he's overwhelmed by the new responsibility he feels for his family and his friends. He also has to deal with the world knowing his identity. There WILL be more character growth that I hope us fans will like.
@@maleehadamda6814 I know that the MCU had to find a way to bring Spider-Man into the story and that he looks up to Tony. That's the problem, Spider-Man/Peter SHOULDN'T be like that. He shouldn't want to be like him that much and his entire character should not revolve around Tony. It does in the MCU, but it shouldn't. I'd rather have neither. MCU Spider-Man doesn't get the character, and, well, I'm sure you know why I wouldn't want more Sony reboots. Spider-Man is my favourite fictional character ever. I'm not going to settle for "it could be worse" with him. I'm not goign to settle for something subpar for anything for that matter. I think it's wrong to look at this from the perspective of "at least we're not getting the Sony reboots!". Also, it really doesn't matter to me if Spider-Man is part of a great franchise like the MCU (although I'd say that it's just good). The MCU can be, and has been, more than fine without Spider-Man. I want Spider-Man to have good stories without betraying his core aspects, I don't care if he's a part of a good franchise, if he's not what's making it good.
Dumb Spidey Fanboi well he’ll be independent in the third movie anyway. Kevin Feige already said the next films are 100% Peter focused. Also, Sony didn’t get Spider Man either with TASM series... Peter’s motivations for becoming Spider Man was to murder someone and they even betrayed the belief that anyone could wear the mask by saying that his dad instilled his DNA with the Spiders and made it seem as if it was Peter’s destiny to become Spider Man. Another thing to add is that none of the three live action Spider Men are comic accurate and are barely even faithful to certain aspects of the character. It’s just what you prefer at the end of the day, I prefer Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider Man over the other two but that’s just me.
@@madnizz1511 None of them are completely accurate but at least Raimi Spider-Man had the main attributes of what the character is about. He's not perfect, but there's no way in hell you can tell me that he's not a good Spider-Man in terms of accuracy. There are only a few things about Raimi Spider-Man that are inaccurate. And those things aren't even that important to the character (organic webbing instead of web-shooters, not cracking as many jokes although he still does crack some, etc. Stuff like that isn't incredibly important, it's the main traits that he needs to have, not absolutely everything ). MCU Spider-Man, on the other hand is almost completely inaccurate. Almost none of his core traits are present, those that are are incredibly downplayed and in the background, and a lot of the new stuff added in goes against some of what the original character was about, like the superhero mentor that leads him down the path he needs to go on. It's one thing to have a couple of inaccuracies, and another thing when your depiction of a character hardly resembles the original one, to the point where it leaves you wondering what the point of using this already existing and established character was, besides the increase in profit from using a popular character.
I think this is the best Spider-Man movie so far. It's funny, serious... great villain, one of the best MCU villains of all times (Marvel really learned their lesson and is doing a great job with the villains now). It had me the whole time trying to figure out Beck, "Is he pretending? He looks so genuine. Maybe something will happen to make he evil?" and I loved the reveal. I loved the teen comedy/romance. It had a similar beat with Spider-Man wanting to just have a normal life, Raimi's second Spider-Man had, but I think this was done better. Peter never actually threw away the costume so to speak... but was reluctant to being spider. Which I think is a better way to show that, than to make Peter walk away from someone being beaten to death. And JK Simmons. It was the cherry on top of a great movie... with a great cliff-hanger. I like that secret identities are not that important in the MCU.
God damn it I want Kraven to be in the next Spider-man movie so bad, and if they popped Jon Bernthal in there as The Punisher as well that'd be insane.
Nobody in our theatre got the joke, me included, till someone explained it in another comment. I could tell it probably was a joke, just from the pacing, but I didn't get it. At least they still put in some fun goodies for the parents and stuff that are dragged to the theaters though!
Every movie I’ve ever went to in my city, the audience has never actually reacted to anything. But when I watch the movie out of town, the audience is fun.
@@clodcollecting51 Hahah yeah, I live in the country so the audience is usually pretty open to actually reacting to movies, that's why I'm pretty sure they didn't get the joke - cause they laughed at the other ones. I guess in cities you're so used to keeping your guard up around strangers that it just kind of bleeds into other things?
Why am I the only person who sees the obvious fact that the character of Michelle Jones is not in any way based on or related to Mary Jane Watson, but is in fact based on JESSICA Jones, who in the comics was retconned to be one of Peter's classmates and had a crush on him. They couldn't use Jessica Jones because she already had her own TV show where she was grown up, but they did use the idea of the character, and flagged it very clearly by giving her the same last name. I am baffled that no one else seems to have made this connection. If Michelle was supposed to be the new Mary Jane Watson, then they would have just called her that. They had no reason to use a different name or invent a new character.
I also think it's worth mentioning how tongue in cheek the teen dramedy aspect is - the writing is very self aware, and uses this genre to tell us more about Parker's character.
Thank you Captain Midnight finally somebody praises this movie. I have literally heard multiple channels called his movie terrible like hi-top films, the amazing super Mike but I'm glad somebody thought this was a perfect movie I mean I thought it was awesome.
@CYB3R2K30 all of the movie is absolutely hilarious, and there isn't even Mr. Stark in the movie, he's already dead. Iron Man was an icon, one of the greatest heroes in the world in this universe, of course they're gonna have to deal with the repercussions of his tragic self-sacraficious death. Did you not watch the movie?
I’m sad that HiTop didn’t like this film but I can tell the reasoning he had really hits his heart. I may not really agree with them, but what I can do is everyone has their own opinions and experiences that I haven’t experienced.
It's super weird how Spidey always gets the bad posters. Maybe because it's handled by Sony? That's the only big outlier I can think of when you compare him to the rest of the MCU protagonists. He's owned by Sony. Only his posters suck.
Personally, I feel like the financial issues should only be a problem when he's an adult. When he's kid it feels like more of an Aunt May problem, y'know? He can definitely still have scenes where he can't afford things, but it shouldn't be a big thing until he needs to live off said money.
Exactly. I think because Spectacular Spider-Man made a big deal about it. Some Fans think he should have money problems regardless of age. Me, I think a good age to start worrying about Money would be when he's at college, (around the age Peter is during Spider-Man: The Animated Series).

This movie had one of the most satisfying villain takedowns in movie history. When peter catches becks arm just as he's about to shoot him.
Yeah, that was really satisfying, and solidified Spider-Man's abilities going forward =)
what sold that scene for me was Peter's next line, "You can't fool me anymore." It's just the way Tom said it.
Mysterio. Mysterio was cool af n Gyllenhaal's performance was really solid definitely a good villain!!! not to mention the visuals were also cool af

I agree 100%
Zaya Moone FFH was easily one of my favourite Spider-Man movies ever next to Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 2 because let’s face it it’s a classic. The plot is great, bringing in a classic villain like mysterio was also very smart in my opinion, and I just loved it. Tom Holland plays a fantastic Peter and deserves all the praise he gets. I will forever say it, Tobey Maguire made Spider-Man cool and nailed every part of Peter’s character, but Tom Holland makes me love him. Literally no complaints with this movie at all!😊

Cyberdemon Mike how so
I hate the criticism about mysterios motivation/character being tied to Ironman. Like the original comic motivation is that he’s a movie visual effects artist that got fired and was salty about it. The mcu spin they put on it is perfect for the mcu and makes total sense.
It makes sense but we have seen it many times before and is kinda boring.

MCU Spidey is pushing the character to new places and I’m excited to see what they do with him.
What new places is he being pushed? Wtf you mean comic Peter parker made his own suit, actually loved and mentioned Uncle Ben which this one does not, the best part about MCU Peter Parker is when he is in suit, out of it he is a reactive character not proactive.
MysteryBounty ah here we go
MysteryBounty did...did you miss the ENTIRE SCENE in Far From Home dedicated to Peter designing and constructing his own suit?
@@FearingVirus I think they are unsatisfied because he had Starks tech
grayson which boggles my mind because Peter has received technology from other people in nearly ALL his iterations.
As soon as I found out Mysterio was the villain for this movie I knew there was going to be some wild trippy cgi. I was all for it.
The MCU's trippy cgi is soooooo good, and I love that nowdays there's at least one scene in every Marvel film featuring something like that.

Mcu Spider-Man is the most fun and refreshing version to me. Tom Holland finally captures his boyhood demeanor with a supporting story that makes us feel like a high school kid who is struggling with the responsibility of the world.
Except he's been in five movies, had many battles, had tragic losses and he still acts like an irresponsible child.
@@rainstrmds canonically he's 16 years old... and I'd say his childishness is a cornerstone of his character he'll never lose and never should, that's the point of Spiderman.
@@Atimix1 If you send a child off to war, they grow up pretty fast. Peter has fought thugs, murderers, organized crime, other superheroes, the supervillains Vulture and Shocker and then Thanos. He has seen tragedy and loss with Ben, Liz, War Machine, the Snap and Tony's death. He lives in a post-snap world that he is partially responsible for. And he still hasn't grown up or matured. His character arc is very flat. All he's done is complain about superhero responsibility and try to avoid it. The immature, childish Peter doesn't make sense after five films.
@@rainstrmds if you haven't seen growth in his character that's on you, MCU Peter has come a far way from his origin but his personality- isn't ever going to change. The theme of tackling responsibility will always be the theme in all of his movies.
@@WrathofFenrir99 he gave it up because he genuinely felt that he wasn't the right person to be the next Iron Man.

@@joeblaze2235 Idk really. I was hearing a lot of "I want this" instead of just accepting what we had been given.

@@virtualboy3596 It wasn't convenience -- It's tied in to its theme of fate and destiny.

With Spider-Man’s unique, yet highly underrated character arc within the MCU, it’s becoming more and more apparent how both those two films are heavily based on the early works of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko’s Spider-Man comics in showing the different phases Peter has as he grew up
In Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Peter was still a boy. It’s where he truly becomes Spider-Man
In Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Peter is starting to fully transition out of boyhood and becomes a young man.
You have no idea how happy your comment made me. There's so much negativity arround Tom's Spider-Man that it's honestly overwhelming.
This aged nicely.
Its nice to see someone else was paying attention to what Marvel was doing with Spider-Man.
If Peter is already "Spider-Man" at 16 years old..then the writers have failed us.
Let’s be honest FFH didn’t really develop his character as great as the movie was it was basically the same as Homecoming
I really enjoyed the movie, and even if you don’t like *this* Spiderman you have to admit this movie is fun to watch
ButterflyColors Agreed it’s fun to watch although for me the writers ruined this Spider-Man
Another amazing movie I can't wait to see again! I honestly have trouble picking between Homecoming and Far From Home, they're both my favorite mcu movies
Awsomeisme1233 AJ
My favorite of the two is far from home, homecoming was great but I felt that it was not as serious as far from home
IMO Homecoming had a slightly better Peter Parker story, but Far From Home had the better Spider-Man story and the crazier action scenes to sell it.
They’re awesome movies, but nothing will ever dethrone Endgame, followed by infinity war. Those two will be my personal best movies since movies exist.
Oh boy your going to have to fight hitop.
Captain midnight vs HiTop: dawn of the webbing
throw my boy cosmonaut in there too.
Solid Snake HiTop is a good youtuber with an excellent grasp of Spider Man and what makes the character.
Sharklover007 that’s all of UA-cam though
Why? HiTop literally said that he’s okay with and respects peoples opinions about the movie.
Gotta love how quickly people love to instigate drama/fights.
some call me tim I never said that I just think mcu fanboys and haters should be forced to see both sides of the argument
So who's up for a Spider-Man Ant Man & the Wasp team up movie?
let me just get my bugspray ready
I won't ready to watch the mid end credits
@@rizkiaakil5508 Lmao, both movies had INSANE mid credits scenes
1Dreamking They need more teamup movies that are separate from solo and Avengers movies. Like, having movies dedicated to specific characters teaming up like that.
(And they could play with the fact that they fought against eachother in Cap: Civil War. Well not the Wasp but... She could be more like the "grown up" in the team with Ant-Man and Spider-Man trying to outwit eachother with jokes etc)
And ofc we get a good reason to see Luis again!!! (Michael Peña)
Finally someone who doesnt say this movie is bad just because peter parker doesnt have money problems
SHREDDER_915, oh, yeah, a 16 year old is definitely going to have that and it’s so appropriate given what he faced 8 months ago
He had to sell his lego collection to pay for the trip AND get MJ that necklace. So he DOES have money problems, they're just not talked about.
I loved it mostly just because of the mysterio scenes. I'm a sucker for trippy dream sequences
Same! That was a great scene.
HiTops Films: I am inevitable.
Captain Midnight: And I....am....Captain Midnight.
*SNAP*
Something I think people need to keep in mind when criticizing that the MCU Spider-Man isn't the same as the Spider-Man they know from the comics or animated series:
He's not supposed to be.
Drew Forchic
The same could be said about many other movies.
Raphael Adôrno Thor Ragnarok ? That film was fantastic lmao.
Pixel
Lol you’re kidding right? You gotta be kidding. That movie was nothing more than a terrible joke, comparable to IM3.
@Raphael Adôrno that’s just an opinion dude.
People complaining “peter lives in tony starks shadow” everyone else “yeah thats the point”
@@maleehadamda6814
I know that the MCU had to find a way to bring Spider-Man into the story and that he looks up to Tony.
I like that secret identities are not that important in the MCU.
lets be real, spider man 2 is great but is memorable purely for doc ock and the train scene. that's it.
also Peter struggling (which I could probably break into 4 more pieces)
Harry without his father and a vendetta against spiderman
God damn it I want Kraven to be in the next Spider-man movie so bad, and if they popped Jon Bernthal in there as The Punisher as well that'd be insane.
Ricardo Webb they probably won’t because Sony wants to make a solo Kraven movie
Governments could hire him to hunt spidey
I think the next villain would be scorpion as in the homecoming post credit scene he appeared talking to vulture in the raft or rykers
“I love Led Zeppelin!”
Every in the theater is laughing but I’m crying because I’ve watched Iron Man
And you just assumed you were the only one that watched Iron man. Wow.
No, literally everyone in the theater was just seeing it because of their kids. You could tell because they weren’t paying attention.
I was more thoroughly entertained with Far From Home than Endgame. I liked Endgame but I wasn't really into the whole slow build up.
Exactly how I felt
Yeah lol wtf
?? You good 😅😅😅
randy K15 yeah but had more humor than endgame
randy K15
are you dumb?
endgame had 30+ hours of buildup
I’d prefer FFH over endgame any day
Why am I the only person who sees the obvious fact that the character of Michelle Jones is not in any way based on or related to Mary Jane Watson, but is in fact based on JESSICA Jones, who in the comics was retconned to be one of Peter's classmates and had a crush on him.
Huh, my brain is never gonna let that go. XD
i never thought about that but it seems like it could work pretty well 👀
This Movie was Spectacular and I refuse to have someone attempt to convince me otherwise! That being said, fantastic video dude
i fuckin love this movie and im a raimi DIEHARD,. so that says a lot
Loved it too!
Nick Coccia Pizza time
If teen romance isn't your thing, Spiderman's not your thing either
Finally was waiting for your review for so long CAPTAAAAIN MIDNIIIIGHT
I enjoyed the film but at the same time have lots of problems with it.
But Mysterio
Him I adored
Grimmijaggers Mysterio was so good but he was sadly wasted
Sidney J. Duffy think that he was good or wasted?
@@ollytherev2957 how was he wasted
I think the movie was just OK. Mysterio was a great villain but a lot of the movie just didn’t seem right to me.
AR K he was killed off in his first appearance and I feel like his whole backstory has been done before
I also think it's worth mentioning how tongue in cheek the teen dramedy aspect is - the writing is very self aware, and uses this genre to tell us more about Parker's character.
Another prop I have to give this movie is Tom Holland’s acting. He really conveys all of Peters emotions.
Thank you Captain Midnight finally somebody praises this movie. I have literally heard multiple channels called his movie terrible like hi-top films, the amazing super Mike but I'm glad somebody thought this was a perfect movie I mean I thought it was awesome.
Why do you think this is a perfect movie?
@@seymourskinner5968 Probably for the reasons made in the video.
I may not really agree with them, but what I can do is everyone has their own opinions and experiences that I haven’t experienced.
everyone can have their own opinion but nobody has to give a shit
it bothers me that a movie with such a bad poster and such a lame title it's so good
There's always some stupid contract that says that the actors' face have to be the biggest part of the poster 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Chloé Reverie I liked the poster but that’s my opinion
@@danbee9456 and that's fine
It's super weird how Spidey always gets the bad posters. Maybe because it's handled by Sony? That's the only big outlier I can think of when you compare him to the rest of the MCU protagonists. He's owned by Sony. Only his posters suck.
Well there were two posters, and I really liked the second one
Personally, I feel like the financial issues should only be a problem when he's an adult. When he's kid it feels like more of an Aunt May problem, y'know? He can definitely still have scenes where he can't afford things, but it shouldn't be a big thing until he needs to live off said money.
Exactly. I think because Spectacular Spider-Man made a big deal about it. Some Fans think he should have money problems regardless of age. Me, I think a good age to start worrying about Money would be when he's at college, (around the age Peter is during Spider-Man: The Animated Series).
Idk why so many people dislike this movie? Thought it was amazing.. Don't even get me started on the mid credit scene What the fu..
Hey That's funny a lot of people actually like the movie from what I’ve seen, it’s honestly just a vocal minority/some raimi fanboys that were never going to like it to begin with that don’t like it.
Anxious But Still Alive I’ve not gotten the sense at all the “so many people dislike this movie”. I don’t even think the vocal minority have been very loud about not liking it. Not from what I’ve seen anyway. I’ve heard people talk about having certain issues with it but must people at least find some redeeming quality to it. Is this movie actually getting much backlash?
