Love the how-to videos. Never thought of using the meat hook for cleaning fish.😅 I’m in northern Illinois so we haven’t had much ice fishing the last couple of years.😢

I know it’s an instructional video, but get an electric knife sir. You’ll at least double you count on perch .. unless you’re only cleaning one

Picturesque moment at 12:00 with the snow falling as you jig. 📸🖼

I know but I just couldn't manage to hook into a big fish at that time. That would have been even better!

Your beard make you look very much like the The Ghoul with an old cheesy beard. . . Could you start singing off like the Ghoul in future videos?

Nice video, Dave. My father used to skin small perch by tearing. It was fast and handy.

I know, but I do try to work with companies that the viewers would be interested in.

I sold outdoor gear in the UP for 15 years. Vexilars were the only thing that ran off a battery that I NEVER saw defective one time. Not one time EVER! I personally sold over 500 Vexes. Other people in our shop sold another 500 units.100% no defects. Marcum with their 1500+ watts of power had cleaner lines on the screen, as did Humminbird. They both had better padded soft cases. Both of them were had finer resolution and were quieter than Vex. The problem with both was reliability. I had access to the returned defectives from 100+ stores. The defective rate of all Vexilar products was under 1/10 of a percent, corporate wide. The other two varied between 10-20%. In 2003 I bought into the Marcum 1500W of power beats Vexes 400W. Long story short, I ruined the entire 2003 ice season with FOUR defective Marcums. Gas money, wasted vacation days out the window. I replaced the Marcums with an FL-18 Vexilar, deep water(300') 9/19 degree unit. 20+ years later it still works EVERY time!

Yeah, but Marcum’s service department is second to none. Just sent my six year old M5 to them for the third time. They even emailed me the shipping label! BTW, my new FL-18 should be delivered Monday by 9:00 pm. Yea!

@@Fish-hc2zq 3 trips in six years for service proves my point. I don't care if they fix it. I care that the defects ruined trips in an already short season with limited days off.

I know, Gerry. I was being ironical.

Thank you so much for adding that info in. I could only speak from my own experience with Vexilar and mine has been rock solid for over 25 years. I'm happy to hear others have had the same experience with Vexilar.
